The only reason I gave this one lace 1 star is because my friend got an excellent set of nails from Jess. I had dip nails that looked like crooked blobs. Then he filed my real nails down against my wishes and cut me with a file several times. He didn't speak a single word to me, told me to go wash my hands and then left. My mom and I are very disappointed after our experience at McKaylie's nail salon today which is such a shame because before they changed ownership a few months ago, they were really good. We've been coming back 2x/month for the last 2 years since we moved here but our last few experiences and the worst being today were so bad we're going to have to find a new place and will not be returning. It wasn't just the bad nail job, neither of us getting what we paid for, (it's not like nails don't grow back) or not being offered water when the person right next to us was who already had water... it was the overall bad customer service.. My mom and I went in today for 2 powder manicures and 2 deluxe pedicures totaling $235. Not that the price would be a problem usually we like to pay for good service and believe you get what you pay for but when you pay the higher price, you do expect certain results. Because this is the 4th time that we have had a negative experience in the last few months I am left to believe that this is how it will be from now on. My mom and I were given 2 very bad nails jobs (I Have attached photos). And we're not given everything that we had paid for originally. The pedicure Deluxe had come with dead skin peeling with the rap and also a massage. Usually the massages I get last anywhere between 10 and 15 minutes if it's a good massage where is my massage last to head less than 5 minutes and My mom and I reverse burn by the stones. Neither of our pedicures came with the dead skin peeling like their brochure had said we paid for and when I told one of the employees who appeared to be the manager and the 1 speaking for the other employees he said that they don't do it like all the other places and that they don't take off all the dead skin because then the feet would be sensitive to walk on and leave just enough on which sounded like an excuse to do less considering the fact that I still had calluses that needed to be shaven off and feeling my feet now I can feel where they should have done more. They also got nail polish on my skin and not just little dots the size of a needlepoint the dots were the size of the end of the nail polish brush. And multiple dots. Not to mention I was not given the complete pedicure experience with my cuticles being cut ( I still had dead skin all around my cuticles ). Same thing went for my manicure. Also, a chunky dried layer of clear polish is stuck underneath my finger tips and is glued to my skin which hurts. But not just under my fingernails also on top of my fingers as well that you will see in the photos where my skin is glossy. My mom was given the same pedicure experience as me and on top of that her manicure was not even what she asked for. She wanted powder and the woman working on her nails gave her half powder half gel which is not what she asked for. By the time my mom realized it was already too late she was almost done. I so wish that today had went differently. We have always been very good customers and very loyal customers. This will be the last time that we go to McKaylie's nails. Such a shame.. this place was so great. read more

I had a basic mani-pedi, grateful for no wait since I was a walk-in on a weekday. My great toe is still sore from where she cut a little too deeply on the side. My technician also had sharp fingernails of her own that kept digging into my fingers and I wasn't thrilled with her filing technique, the shaping was poor and she 'burned' a couple of fingers by filing too deeply on the sides. The salon appears clean and despite the sore spots, I did not develop any infection. I do not plan to return here. read more

I tried to give this salon a chance four different times, and I had pretty bad experiences 3 out of 4. I found the nail technicians to be very rude, and they didn't do a great job for the price either. Even with dip polish my nails would chip. During my last visit, the guy got up and just left me there without saying anything for 20 min with my nails in soaking in remover. I'm pretty sure he went to go take a smoke break because he smelled like cigarettes when he got back. My fingers started to burn from soaking them so long and I had to take them out. I will say during my second visit I had Vanessa (hope I'm remembering correctly) and she did a great job. Unfortunately our schedules don't align so I can't see her regularly. But all the other nail technicians who I've seen there are again both very rude and not concerned with quality. read more

Absolutely horrible experience if I could give negative stars I would. I made an appointment for 315 And they didn't start my nails until 4. They didn't sanitize between customers and bounced me from chair to chair. The man sat in front of me for 5 minutes on his phone and frequently picked it up for minutes at a time while he was doing my nails. I asked for a coat of glitter on my ring finger and didn't get it because the second he finished the last coat of dip he got up and went to the next person. It's been 4 days and I've already lost a nail they are not smooth. It feels like I have hills and valleys for nails. where my real nail ends and the plastic nail thing is super thin (why they are already breaking). read more

I brought my daughter to this nail salon for acrylics (as promised to her) a few days after moving here from out of state. At check out, I paid the bill and didn't add a tip. Not because of dissatisfaction but for simply being exhausted and absent minded at the time. The lady (I think owner) seemed perturbed and wasn't very friendly. I went back today to treat myself and throughout the manicure, my technician wasn't the least bit friendly especially after the lady manager, who was giving me dirty looks the whole time, mentioned something to him in Chinese (I presume about my non-tipping during my previous visit.) In an effort to make-up for my lack of tipping during my previous visit, I gave my technician a generous tip despite his unfriendliness. However, at checkout, the lady manager looked puzzled when I only paid her the cost of service. I explained to her that I already tipped the technician but acting as the tip police, she decided she had to call out to the technician to verify. To summarize, I find that the employees at this salon are very unprofessional and would not recommend giving them your business. I'm sure there are other nail salons in the area that would appreciate serving you. read more

I have gone to this salon twice. The first time was with a bridal party. I didn't have any problems and my nails looked fine for the wedding. I went back a few months later to get my nails (pedicure and manicure) done for my sister's graduation. These are the only two times I have gotten a manicure in years at a salon. About a month after my second visit, I noticed that my thumbnail had a divot/bump at the base, right next to my cuticle. I let it grow out and noticed that it was getting worse. I went to urgent care and my pcp and they said that sometimes this happens after you get a manicure if the salon worker damages your nail bed...they told me it would grow out. So I left it. Then my nail started detaching from my finger and started falling off, so I went to a dermatologist who took a sample. 8 months after I got the manicure I found out that I got a fungal infection from the tools that they used at my manicure. I am now paying for medication to fix it in addition to the co-pays for the doctors visits. As this whole ordeal was going on, I learned that one of the other bridesmaids in the wedding party had a problem with one of her toenails after the pedicure. I will never go back. I have told my friends not to go there because they don't use clean tools. It's not worth the amount of money, time and stress wasted on something that should be avoided. Don't do it. read more

i went to this place and they did a full set back in August 2022 and ever sense then my nails always lift or fall off. I always go back and have them fixed and never complain and pay for them to get fixed and filled, One time they we're unavailable so I went to Cloudy Nails in Hooksett N.H and they filled my nails and they did a crappy job and did not do much but just did the removal of the nail polish and put new filling on the nails and the next couple of days i had a problem with on of my nails and they said sorry we don't do much more then that because we didn't do your nails { meaning put them on } Okay well they charged me 55 dollars and they sucked. So when i went back to this place i explain it to them they thought I meant they did my nails because they kept saying we didn't do your nails some one else did you even told us because you complained about them, Um no i didn't say that but what ever i have a credit card slip with the payment for 65 dollars for my nails and all the fills after that. So I was so upset this time when my nail broke and 4 of my nails lifted after 2 days of just getting them done , So i wrote a review about them and said how unhappy I was and how i have to keep paying for their mistakes and i am tired off it , So they wrote back , We are sorry to hear your not happy with your service please call and speak to me the manager, So i called the Manger, What a fucking joke that was ! He was so rude he didn't listen to me in the begin he was talking to someone else, Then he was like go ahead, so i explain what was going on and he was like i will fix your broken nail that is it because we didn't put your nails on, I said yes you did i said i have credit slips, He said no you told us about another company doing you're nails and doing them wrong ! I said yeah they filled them when you we're busy. He didn't want to hear it, They just don't want to stand behind their work because they suck ! I have been here a few times, each time a different experience. I actually prefer the male technicians over the females. Every time I have had a female technician doing my manicures or pedicures, they have been very rough. They have ripped my skin when cutting the cuticles. That seriously hurt! Hit or miss with this one now. I used to love this place under the previous owner/management but it has definitely gone downhill in terms of being consistently good. Last visit a couple weeks ago I had someone fairly new and I wasn't confident he knew what he was doing. I agree with other comments about them being careless and either burning or cutting you/ over drilling. Within a couple days, I had multiple cracked nails ( this has never happened to me in the years I've had them done) and one painfully broke off even taking part of my nail with it. They were clearly not done correctly and felt different. To their credit, they immediately responded when I sent pictures of the nails damaged and had me come in to fix it. Someone else had to basically redo them and wouldn't really acknowledge that they were done incorrectly and said it was because they were long ( huh? Never was a problem before). They weren't super apologetic about it but did at least fix it ( except the one that was torn off and couldn't be fixed). They aren't always great about doing precision work and more than once I have had to file them myself realizing after I left they were crooked. The time before this time, someone else did a great job and they lasted three weeks and still looked perfect. Sadly, even after the fix on this last job, they continue to look sort of crappy for $65. Probably won't be back as it was stressful and time consuming and they didn't really act too concerned. A nice place that is kept clean and has some decent work in the past but they definitely need to do some better training and be more consistent. read more

This Nail Salon is extremely clean, beautifully decorated, and relatively cheap. It's not the cheapest manicure/pedicure you'll find but it's definitely reasonable. The few extra dollars are absolutely worth the quality of service! My nails always look perfect, my favorite is the shellac manicure. I've seen almost every employee and have not been disappointed with any of them. Also, they do great pedicures with an awesome foot/lower leg massage. I won't get my nails done anywhere else! The only thing I wish is that they were open later, other than that, I've never been disappointed. Also, they have a sign saying to tip in cash, so remember to bring some! read more

I went here this morning and I'm not impressed. The staff were all super nice, the decor is very nice inside, and the massage chairs are wonderful. My technician gave me an excellent massage but **barely** exfoliated my feet or dealt with caluses. She only put one coat of the color polish on (she did do a clear base and top coat) and it's very messy. She didnt use the toe separatey thing, so polish gotnon my other toes. Not happy :( read more

I have been to this salon a couple of times now and every time there has been an issue with my nails. I have had to go back on more than one occasion to have them "fix" my nails- Shellac peeling or chipping after not even a week. Each time I have gone back, which is something I hate doing, they make you feel bad for asking to fix! Not to mention that if you choose to do another color at that time they charge you! I have made appointments and the person has shown up almost 20 minutes late, the customer service is awful and every time I have been has been rushed. The final straw was when I went in to get my nails done for my engagement pictures and I got cut 3 times! Not to mention that when I looked down during the photo session I noticed that 2 nails were chipped- this was 3 days after I had them done. I didn't bother going back and asking for them to fixed since the last 2 times prior I had to do this and was made to feel like 1) it was something I may have done and 2) that I was inconveniencing them for asking for the correction. I don't get my nails done often, it is a treat for me, so when I do I would really appreciate for them to last longer than a week when a standard shellac guarantee is 2 weeks. I do not recommend going to this place. I can almost guarantee ANY PLACE is better than what you will get here. read more

Highly disappointed and would not recommend to anyone. I stopped in at 5:30 for a mani/pedicure which took an hour. The business hours say they close at 7, but at 6:30 all employees had their jackets on and were staring at me so that I would leave and go home. As a result of being rushed out the door, my nails didn't dry all the way and were smudged. If it were 7PM and it was time for their business to close, I would fully expect the employees to be ready to go, but it is inconsiderate to stare at me and make it seem like I am inconveniencing them. Additionally, the vibe that I enjoy when I go to get my nails done is a relaxing vibe. Not the case at this salon. The employees bring there children to work with them (which is completely fine) but what is not okay is they are allowed to run around the salon and scream. While I was drying my nails one of the children bumped into my chair and then kept going. I totally understand that kids will be kids, but this is not the type of atmosphere that I want to be immersed in while getting my nails done. There are plenty of other salons in the Bedford area that provide a much better service and atmosphere- don't waste your time or money! read more

Disappointing! This is the same group that owns Key Nails in Bedford, NH. I went here hoping this would be a new and nice nail salon because I did not want the assembly line, half-hearted, sloppy mani-pedis you get at Key Nails. I was disappointed when I saw some of the same nail techs from Key Nails at McKaylie Nail Salon. I got a quick pedicure with barely any softening of the only callus I had. The implements were not in sealed autoclaved packets as they should be. Used nail files and buffers were utilized and my great toe nails were filed into 2 different sizes and shapes. When I told the nail tech who barely spoke english, he blamed it on the shape of my toes!! One of the other nail techs saw I was unsatisfied with my pedicure and fixed the toe nails. The manicure was another disaster, dirty used nail tools and each nail was a different size and shape. One of the cuticles was pushed too far, was painful and bleeding. By this time time I was frustrated and just wanted to get the heck out of there, praying I would not get a nail or a skin infection. I am contemplating if the use of unclean, used implements needs to be reported to the BBB. I will never go back to this place. read more
