Ofcourse I had to give it a chance and the reviews looked promising. I was seen 30 minutes before closing at 7pm for a basic french tip pedicure. The service was quick and loving how my french tip came out My nail tech was friendly and welcoming and also provided me with great service despite not having a lot of time before closing. I also thought the price was reasonable. The only reason I didn't rate this salon 5 stars is that cleanliness can definitely be improved. I last minute decided to try this spot as it's closeby, had availability on short notice and seemed like the reviews weren't too bad. I'm extremely particular with my nails and felt like I wanted to try something new but even from the phone call to schedule the appointment itself was rude, tool cleanliness was not the best and the paint job itself was rushed I had to go to my regular salon to fix them as they also shaped my right toe slanted which has never been that shape. Been coming here a long time, mostly because the work is normally high quality and long lasting. Today was different. It was busy, which isn't unusual for a Saturday morning. However my nail tech today (she may possibly be the owner or manager or both) was constantly answering her phone from clients, checking on other clients in the salon, working on others while also working on my service. I was hopeful to try this salon as it had fairly decent reviews and photos looked good. I've been looking for a nail salon in Alameda since my previous salon is a bit too far. However my experience was less than ideal. I went in wanting dip as I was reading it was stronger and I've been struggling with lifting off builder gel. Multiple staff kept talking out of it and that their builder gel lasts a long time, uncomfortable but hopeful I said okay since Builder Gel is better for your nails in the long run. I got one color, builder gel on natural nails, and just a simple shape. Nothing too complicated I haven't gotten elsewhere before. I went home and thought it was fine for the money, $45 for builder gel + $8 tip. Probably wasn't going to return but also wasn't going to write a review. However, after 1 day my pointer finger nail chipped and started lifting and my middle finger also started lifting. I called and they said to come in and they would fix it. I went in and sat for 30 minutes until someone saw me -- had 3 different people come look my nails in the meantime but never start prep process, etc. After 30 minutes I was taken to a different station and she took maybe 15 minutes to "fix" the issue. Upon leaving and having a time to look better at my nails I still left unsatisfied. I chose not to go back a third time as I don't feel confident they will be able to actually do my nails well. I gave 2 stars as they did offer and attempt to fix my nails and didn't charge me for the "fix." I would be cautious going here as it seems your experience may vary... read more

I needed to get my nails ready for the holidays and got Helen this time to help with my fill. She was super nice, and I didn't have to say much for her to even know exactly what I wanted. My friend and I had an appointment at 4:45 pm but still waited around 30-40 minutes, which was a bit of a bummer, but I was able to walk around and grab some things I needed. After seated, I just told Helen I wanted to change my shape from square to short almond, and I wanted red catseye. (I LOVE their collection of catseye here) She immediately knew what I was talking about and said no problem, I know what you want. I was worried at first since she didn't show me the book, but she literally got the color I had in my mind. The shape she did and the color she painted were so nice!! I originally wanted only the heart design on my ring something simple on the others, but she added all the others designs on my other nails and made it super fun. My rating is due to the cleanliness of how I see other nail techs at this establishment use and re-use their tools without proper disinfectant. I also notice that the tables and lamps aren't wiped down after each client. Decided to visit based on a friend's recommendation and I had time to do my nails prior to a trip. I was a walk-in, so there was quite a wait until I could be seen, so appointments are highly recommended before coming in the future. This was my first time getting Gel-X nails with a design, and I was not disappointed! They do their best to follow the pics and design you bring to them, and the attention to detail definitely shines in the results. The nail colors are very vibrant and stand out in a beautiful way. Regarding the length of my nails, I wanted them as short as possible but still able to fit a design in - which my nail tech was able to accommodate wonderfully. Price-wise, Gel-X nails begin at $55 and + $20 for the design. I wanted to give this shop another try because the first time l came, I got gel x and they were super clean and pretty and their pedicures always come out so neat. Aesthetically they're pretty good. I came in yesterday and it wasn't super busy as it has been the past two times I've been. I came in to do a gel builder and gel pedi combo. The lady that did my pedicure was through, kind, and my toes turned out great! So clean! At the same time, another lady started working on my hands and I knew she knew her stuff but honestly she kept stopping and talking the entirety of my appointment. I usually don't mind when the nail technicians talk amongst each other but it was excessive this time around especially because she'd stop just to talk to other people and although I'd say it didn't take super long, it was a bit uncomfortable to just sit there. On top of that, one of my nails has already chipped and I haven't necessarily done much since getting them done not even 24 hours ago, and a one nail has something under the gel. Cleanliness is a huge thing too and it doesn't seem like they throughly clean the materials used (towels, hand dryers, etc). Price wise is pretty fair but I'm not sure if I'd come back.
