I've been coming to Angel's Nails Spa regularly for the past 6 months since moving to Alameda, and I thought I had built a consistent relationship as a loyal customer. Kim has usually done my nails, and I've always tried to be a kind and patient client. I typically don't complain, even when things aren't perfect, because I understand that salons can get busy. However, my recent experience was really disappointing. I came in on Friday, 8/1, for a fill. While I appreciated that they were able to squeeze me in during a busy time, I noticed afterward that my nails weren't properly filled and just looked lightly touched up. I returned on Monday, 8/4, to show Kim and politely express my concern. Instead of examining the issue or acknowledging that I had just paid for this service a few days ago, Kim immediately asked me, "How many do you want fixed?" without even looking at my nails. I found this dismissive and frustrating, especially since it was clear from my nails (as shown in the photos) that they didn't look fresh or recently done. In fact, I'll probably need another fill on the remaining nails next week -- only days after I just paid for a full service. What's more confusing is that the pricing also seems to vary each time I visit, with no clear explanation. This whole situation left me feeling unappreciated as a returning customer, and honestly, it hurt my feelings. It's bittersweet to say this, but I won't be returning. read more

Scheduled an appointment two days in advance with email and text confirmations and reminders and the nail clerk in extremely unprofessional and rude manner said "you should have called" and only the knows when appointments are made, yet had no issues previously with scheduling appointment via website. Once I explained that my appointment had been made two days prior, that is not my issue if there is no communication between the owner and staff but as a paying customer my appointment should be validated. The nail walks away, I'm not knowing if she is going to accommodate me but returns with the tub liner and then asks "are you going to come over here." At this point I was made to feel as though I inconvenienced their day when I had a already scheduled appointment, arrived on time/few minutes early and showed them my confirmation. I am concerned at the level of disrespect in tone, unprofessionalism and disregard toward me in a salon with only one customer at that time. read more

My daughter and I decided to get our nails done and for me, It has been forever since I had my nails done, so, I didn't have a particular place to go. Since I work in Alameda, I thought I'd try a local nail salon. Someone at work recommended "My Angel Nails", My daughter had recommendation of a place in Oakland, which we went to and that place looked unsanitary and so very small. We left out of there with a quickness and headed to this nail salon. As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed. The salon looked fabulous, spacious and very clean. We had a manicure done and the ladies that worked on us were very professional and friendly. They even served us hot tea while we were there. The end result was very satisfying. So I came in on a Friday morning about when the shop opens at 10am to get a gift certificate for someone. The shop is organized clean and bright. I was greeted unmediated and at that time I decided then that I would love to get my mani pedi done as well. To my surprise they really did a good job! I'm very picky about my nails so it does mean this shop is amongst the better ones here in Alameda! I was going to get regular mani pedi but I did see there Monday - Friday ongoing promotion for Gel Manicure with a regular pedicure running on yelp! The promotion price is $43. Let's clarify it does mean On manicure is gel and pedicure is not. The benefit I was told is it "lasts longer" and you can be done quicker as it does dry faster. read more

I don't normally post reviews but I felt compelled for people to know how amazing this place is. Since moving to Alameda for SF a year ago I have tried just about every nail salon on the island and none have made me come back. Either my nails chip really fast or the places just are not worth the money. This is not the case at My angel nails. Chrystal and Sophie did my pedicure and shellac manicure and I will be going back every 2-3 weeks. The place is so clean and the staff is so friendly. Great service but only critique is that the only have certain staff to do specialty nails such as powder gel and acrylics so its not always convenient for walk ins. Also they dont have many color options for powder gel like other local nail shops. This option lasts longer than gel polish so I wosh they would invest in more colors. Their massage chairs also lack as I can barely feel them when they hit my back but the staff is super nice and they do a great job painting nails which is why I give them 3 stars! read more

I love My Angel Nails! I have been getting my nails done for over 20 years and the experience at My Angel is always relaxing and lovely. My daughter and I came in for mani/pedi's yesterday. It felt like the acrylic was aggressively pulled and over-filed instead of being properly soaked off. My nails were burning for hours afterward and remain painful. What concerns me most is that my nails were painted immediately after, without addressing the damage or providing any aftercare guidance. A safe removal should never leave a client in this level of pain. Tonight I am experiencing significant discomfort because of this, and I sincerely hope my nails heal on their own and that I will not need medical attention. I hope the salon reviews its removal procedures so future clients do not go through the same experience. Unfortunately, I would not return for this service.

I asked if they were busy, and the woman told me they were not and that she could take me right away. She immediately started filling the water for a pedicure, but based on past experiences at other nail salons, I asked how long the wait would actually be. Too often, nail shops say there is no wait, only to have customers sitting around for 15 to 20 minutes after the water has already been prepared. I simply wanted an honest answer about the timing. Instead of feeling welcomed as a customer, I left feeling disrespected and uncomfortable. Customer service is just as important as the quality of the service itself, and unfortunately, the women working there seemed to lack professionalism and basic customer service skills. No one should feel unwelcome or dismissed when they are spending their hard-earned money. I will not be returning and hope the management invests in better customer service training.
