I just left the salon from seeing Erica for by bi-weekly (won't miss it) appointment. She was sad to tell me of a review left my Ma L. on 6/9 and how she just did not understand the reason for the one star review. I read the review by Ma. L. and I do not agree with anything that she has stated. Do not let that one review persuade you from booking with Erica! I have been going to see Erica for about 3 years. She is one of the best nail techs I have ever been too. She keeps her work space extremely clean. Her quality of work is top notch. I get gel on my nails, and regular polish on my toes. She does have her own private room which makes it nice when the salon is busy. She has a TV that you can watch while getting your toes done and always has nice calming music playing. Or during the holidays if you asked she would turn on a holiday music channel. She is focused on the customers experience and makes it her top priority. We're visiting AZ and my best bud was in 'dire need' of a pedicure. I spent time researching a good place and found Erica! She was supposed to be off next day but she came in just for us. She's so sweet! She did a fabulous pedicure with a butterfly design that's so cute. We loved our pedicure. My best bud has bad eczema and Erica's very knowledgeable in remedying it because she had bad eczema too and cured her own by using hand made soap and proper diet. She is extremely conscientious about cleanliness and disinfects between every client. Again, I must sing the praises of Erica! I tripped and fell quite badly on Saturday, and three of my toes are black and blue, as is my knee. I went to Erica yesterday so at least I could have pretty toes, even with their lovely shade of added purple. She was ever so gentle, and even put some lavender oil on my knee to help with the pain, as well as made suggestions as to how I could make the bruising go away quicker. I unfortunately went to Erica twice for gel manicures and gel pedicure. First of all the pricing was based on the typical services for a gel manicure but Erica kept adding on side charges for normally covered services at other Pro Valley salons. By the time I left she had charged me $95.00 for a gel fill. I had no broken or even grown out nails! a week later a neighbor revealed she and her 2 coworkers had also gone to Erica for a gel fill and had the same unprofessional experience. Yes she does have a lovely space but I can't help wondering if all the "add on costs" paid for her renovated "spa room". I found it difficult to even give her a one star rating. Erica Yuen is the best nail tech professional I have ever had! She took great care of me, my husband and my mom when we lived in Arizona. All three of us loved her professional care for our feet and hands. She is extremely conscientious about sanitation and all her instruments are hygienic and safe. And, her knowledge of nail care is superb. She will do an excellent job with whatever you need with regard to manicure or pedicure. She has had extensive training, and knows how to do acrylic, gel or just a polish or buff. She knows what to do if you are having any issues with your nails as well. Count yourself very lucky if you are able to become one of her many regular customers! We now live in another state, and I miss my time sitting in my chair, with Erica and I visiting as dear friends. She did a fantastic job on my cracked dry feet, making them soft and supple again.
