I got a neon yellow gel. I didn't like that the color was see through and didn't look like the sample. I could still see my nail through the paint. The guy who did my nails made a comment saying that I needed to pick dark colors next time because of my skin tone which is 100% unrelated. I very much enjoyed my experience here. It was a professional place that made me feel welcome. My 4 year old was a typical kid but they never seems bothered by her. I only had one complaint and that was when they were trimming around my toes they were not gentle. I am in quite a bit of pain today (the day after) and my toe is pretty swollen. I received the worst gel manicure I've ever had today from this place! I'm 99% sure the woman who did my nails isn't even licensed because she acted like she didn't know how to apply nail polish. Parts of my nails have no polish on them, she left me with a ton of hang nails, and she used a UV light that wasn't half working so the polish didn't set right. nail review went in with my sister to get a nice relaxing spa day, however that was not the case. we walked in and immediately got harassed about making an appointment when it clearly says "walk-in's available" on big print on the front door. so that was the first red flag. for me, i got a pedicure and it felt very unsanitary and i wouldn't be surprised if i got an infection in a few days. absolutely disgusting i wanted to puke. next my sister, i feel so bad for her. she got her nails done and by the time we left they looked horrible. they were bumpy, uneven, sharp, not filed, etc. basically all the worst case scenarios happened to her. so we call her and she tells us to come back at 4 to get them fixed up. we go back in at 4 and end up waiting 30 min for her to come talk to us. at this time we had other places where we needed to be so we simply told her we did not have time to get them redone and asked for a refund. she handled this probably the most immature way. she refused a refund to us, got all up in our faces, told us to "be nice", and started clapping in our face handling this extremely out of pocket. at this point my sister and i just wanted to leave so we tried to just get up and walk away and she told us to "sit back down" and literally did not let us leave until she scheduled another appointment with her. steer clear of this facility as this "Holly" lady is manipulative and could possibly catch a case at one point. read more

This is not only the first but second terrible experience I have had at this place. Don't go here unless you want to pay $40 for your nails to chip and break within the first few days. The quality is underwhelming and for people who take 2 hours to do a dip manicure, it sure was an absolute waste of my time. After 5 days, I have 7 chipped and cracked nails. I only gave this place a second chance because it is close to my house and I usually don't have hours to spend on getting my nails done. Signed in at 6:00pm for a full set and pedicure and didn't leave until 8:00pm because the owner, Holly, decided she did not want to work anymore and left me sitting in an empty pedicure chair for 30 minutes without communicating instructions to her staff. I felt horrible for the two employees, a pregnant young lady and her husband, who had to stay over 30 min after closing simply because Holly chose not to do my nails. Very disappointed in this place. Came in just to get my eyebrows shaped up and the lady butchered my left one COMPLETELY. My left eyebrow is now a single line of hair with zero shape and is significantly shorter than my right eyebrow, doesn't match the right one and now I have to draw it in until the hair grows back.. My mother and I dropped in for a pedicure at 3:30 on a Friday. We were directed to a couple chairs. My chair's basin was dirty and my mother's chair had dirty towels on it. Then we began to notice all the people waiting without any water in their basins - probably about 5-6 people. I FINALLY found a really good nail place in Norman. YAY! I have been here twice and have no desire to look anywhere else. Mary is the woman to go to for pedicures. Why? Because she gives top quality leg/foot massages, specializes in reflexology, and is very meticulous with the painting and callus care. This business is fairly new, and is pretty spacious with around 12-16 pedicure chairs. There are different packages, starting with the standard of $25, which I only recommend if you are REALLY tight on money. I usually am tight on money, but highly recommend the Deluxe ($35) or the Rose ($45) pedicure packages. They also do waxing, facials, massages, and hair cuts/color. You are always asked if you would like something to drink, which include a variety of sodas and water. If you get the Deluxe or Rose, you may choose a glass of champagne if of age of course. I usually just walk in because I'm too lazy to make an appointment, but they can get pretty busy so I don't suggest being lazy like me and call ahead of time. The chairs are wonderful, especially if you have a back with a million kajillion knots in it. Soaps, oils, salts, scrubs, you name it. You are pampered, and with the higher pericure packages, can get a hot volcano stone massage, hot wraps around your feet, and a warm shoulder wrap filled with rice or beans that they put around your neck as soon as you sit down. H.E.A.V.E.N. If you can, try to get Holly to do your manicures, sets, etc. She will be joking and laughing with you and getting to know you the whole time, instead of awkward silence....Even if you get solar nails, they give you a mini hand/arm massage at the end, which many places I've been in the past don't do unless you get a manicure. There are always special deals, such as right now there is a Father's Day special where you and your father get pedicures and he'll get 25% off. They have glow in the dark solar nail powder, which I think is pretty cool since they are located in a college town. They have a pretty standard selection of nail polish, with maybe a few fun colors that are in style now, but other than that I suggest you bring your own color if you are extremely picky. Also, they have a free reward card that you can get and every dollar you spend is equivalent to one point. So if you spend $150=150 over time, you get $5 off, and the higher the amount you have the more money you get off, etc. Every girl, AND guy, that is looking to get pampered and get really good service, well, enough said. So my pedicure has lasted okay, though my cuticles grew in a bit funny, but my manicure - wow - My doctor said two of my nail beds may be PERMANENTLY DAMAGED and the rest of my nails are in horrible shape. They look awful and I can't do any sort of polish on them for several months. I'd think about suing the salon, but that would just be a waste of time and money. I wish I could get a refund, if only to pay my doctor's copay (I went in because my nails started bleeding), but I believe I'd have to go in there and start yelling to get anything to happen. One of the best pedicures I've ever gotten, it lasted long enough for me to relax but not so long that I wanted to leave. Amazing massage chairs, they offer free drinks, and have great color choices. The staff are all so friendly too. I like that they wear gloves, it seems more sanitary than not. Prices are pretty good too. I loved this place when I first started going but recently I have had the worst time.. the firs time I went in for a full set and the guy rushed so fast that my nails were nothing but sharp corners that could cut glass.. so I went back the same day to get them fixed and wasn't disappointed but I had to wait 1 hour to even get seen. My second experience was sadly today.. I waited close to 1 hour and a half just for a filling. I told Holly I wanted my nails short and apparently to her that meant all the way to my eye balls because they are now so short I could pass them off as a crap job that a first grader did. Which I'm sure with out a doubt that a first grader can do better. Second my husband brought me my little to feed but didn't get the chance because someone I knew wanted to hold and visit but the whole 2 minuets I had him Holly once again asked if I had a bottle or if my husband was coming back inside to "handle" my child. THEN had the balls to tell me since I choose to breastfeed I should go to the bathroom to feed my child. First of all I will not. Second I will feed my child anywhere and anytime I want. Third.. would YOU go to the bathroom to eat your food? No? Then you have no say so on where I choose to feed my child. Then she got annoyed that I was holding my child. There is so much but I will leave it at what I wrote. I WILL NOT go back period and will pay money else where. I WILL NOT recommend this place for anything or to anyone! If my husband wasn't ready to leave I would of stayed and fed my little guy all over that "salon" but I wasnt waisting my time and I sure shit wasn't waisting my husband's time. I asked for cutile oil instead of water because you don't want to soak nails before painting. It causes nails to retain water and expand. Once they're painted they'll shrink, meaning your polish will no longer fit your nails. So i ask the guy doing my nails to use oil and he looked at me funny and said we have no oil. Then on top of that when i asked him to paint all the way down to the tip of my nail he didnt. The only reason i didnt put up more of a fight is because i was with my friends and didnt want to embrass them. I am never going back they cant properly paint nails let alone have oil. Do Not Go To This Place Unless You Have Time To Waste I have made two visits now to this place and I wonder how it stays in business. The first visit it took 3 hours for a full set and a pedicure and the last visit it took 2 and a half hours just for a fill and polish change on my toes. A big reason it took so long this last time is because the lady (Holly) in addition to just being slow, stopped 3 times to argue with her employees, 4 times to count and divvy up the day's cash money (it was near closing time), and 3 times to make personal phone calls. Wow. Just wow. So unprofessional and inefficient. Will definitely need to find a different nail place even if it means driving further. read more

I visited Nails by Holly strictly on the recommendation of fellow Yelper, Laura N. I actually live off Western in NW OKC, but was planning a mini "spa" day with my boyfriend's mom and mi own mamasita. The bf's madre lives in the Norman area, so I figured I'd get 1.) bonus points for bringing the partay to her and 2.) have an excuse to eat at The Mont (NOM). A big draw for me was the number of chairs available. It's silly and pointless to plan a girls' day if you all have to take turns getting' your nails did. The place seems to be relatively new, exceptionally clean and they offer you a smorgasbord of bevvies to satiate your thirst. Holly herself is very engaging and despite the relative newness of the place, seems to have already established quite a few "regulars". She engaged my cohorts and myself, found out that I'd found the place on Yelp, and took painstaking measures to showcase the establishment's meticulous sanitation efforts. The massage chairs were top notch and there's candy at your fingertips. If I wasn't already a happy camper, having a Milky Way Midnight within my grasp while receiving a rubdown from the furniture definitely did the trick. The gentleman who did my pedicure was meticulous and I've never seen someone go to such lengths to ensure I didn't have any stray polish on the skin around my toesies. Additionally, the prices are extremely reasonable for what you get and they didn't shake me down for cash while I was drying. If you have the means, definitely spring for the hot wax. I had a great experience and despite the distance, I will definitely visit Holly's again. read more

I was extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism and service at this salon. I went here with my fiance to get ready for our engagement photos. We were anticipating a nice and relaxing evening out. The evening was absolutely awful. Despite making an appointment for the two of us, we only had one person that was attended to us. The service was extremely slow and the staff even argued among one another for much of the appointment! The staff was also extremely rough when doing the pedicures and made it difficult to enjoy. It took the salon TWO HOURS to complete just two regular pedicures. I did not want to waste anymore of our evening at this place and cancelled our manicures. Worst experience ever! I went for a Mani/Pedi . They use a chemical to remove calluses from your heels which is great but the woman put it on my ankles too when I complained my ankles burned and asked to wash them I saw I had a huge rash on both ankles from the harsh chemical. When I pointed this out they sprayed my ankles with rubbing alcohol. I actually yelped it hurt so bad. They then put lotion on it and said not to worry. My ankles have been raw and bleeding for three days! I would NOT recommend nails by holly! read more

Prices here are about the same as other places in Norman but it is significantly higher quality. I have tried other places for a gel manicure and Holly's cannot be beat. I've had gel manicures last 2 1/2 weeks here where at other places they barely last one. This place is amazing if you like good acrylics. Same thing as before, they last significantly longer than other places. Their polish selection isn't as great as some other places but I've never seen them thin it out before and I've never had problems with chipping (also unlike other places in town) I'm sure there are places in OKC that are equal quality/price but as a Norman resident this is hands down the best nail salon in Norman. I've only gotten one pedicure here and it was the standard, plain pedi with gel polish that matched my manicure and it was very clean. The nail tech who did it was absolutely phenomenal and nice and really just had great customer service skills. read more

BEWARE.....Getting a fill. Holly, the owner was shaping my nails when I noticed the nail she glued on(I broke my nail)was the wrong size. It was too big. She argued with me and said the pinkys are 2 different sizes. I told her they wasn't. Then she argued again. I told her I always get the same size on each pinky, index, thumb, etc. Then she said it wasn't and stood up and left. She told me she could not finish my nails. I guess she was bound and determined to not take that nail off. Someone else had to finish. They took the nail off and put on a smaller and it fixed the problem. It was such a simple fix for her to do that. I will never be back. I could actually go back to someone else but since she owns the salon I will not go back. She charged me $10 to shape as coffin when that is the shape I got to begin with. Been getting nails done for 20 years and have never had this happen. Also girls, you never have to get a new set put on until you tell them to put them on. Holly looked at me and said you need new set. They are just trying to get your money. This place is absolutely horrible. I went in for a typical mani/pedi and was bleeding in three places before moving from pedicure to manicure. Then I get set up at the station with my hands soaking in water preparing for my manicure only to wait over 30 minutes. The lady doing my nails had vanished. Finally, a woman who was there to check the facilities and the licenses of the manicurist approached me and told me the woman doing my nails and another woman doing nails were not certified and they were hiding from her. I went to the front and refused to pay for my pedicure but ended up paying only because I was so uncomfortable and wanting to leave immediately. The two women of the four doing nails that day were hiding back behind the building waiting for the lady to bust them to leave. Completely horrible!!! read more

Not impressed. Visited this salon on the recommendation of a friend and will not be going back. I had an appointment for a manicure and waited for 30 minutes before the nail tech was ready. Then, my regular manicure took over an hour! Every time the gal painted my nails, it went on very streaky so she ended up applying FOUR coats of polish. Additionally, she picked so much at my cuticles that they started to bleed a little. Then when she was finally done, she moved me to the dryers but the UV never came on so I sat there for almost 10 minutes before I finally just left. I would not recommend this salon. read more

I had made an appointment 4 days in advance, only to have to be told to either wait or come back because they took a walk in right before I got there. I had said in advance I needed to be out by a certain time, but that did not seem to matter. What should take maybe an hour takes about 3 hours. Also, they cannot seem to realize they need to absorb it cost to run a business as they expect their customers to pay for the fee they use for their credit cards. I decided to try this salon based on a friends recommendation but was extremely disappointed with the services I received. The entire experience was very stressful with no relaxation or enjoyment because two techs did my manicure and pedicure AT THE SAME TIME. They were constantly asking me to move either my feet or my hands. All of the toe nail cuticles were not removed and the nail polish was applied in a sloppy manner. Afterwards, I noticed that both techs were not busy so I don't understand why I was put through this misery. I will never go back to Nails by Holly or give them a referral. read more
