I went this nail shop on 6/30 to get a refill. I got red glitter powder because I wanted to stick with my 4th of July theme. Prior to coming to the shop, I called twice to let them know what I wanted and to confirm the price. When I went in, I told them I was the one who called about 'color powder $25'. So they told me on the phone Michelle was booked and Steven was on vacation, but they had some else that was just as good to do my nails. I was kind of disappointed already because I wanted Michelle or Steven due to all the great Yelp reviews on them. So I got "Tre", who smelt like an ashtray because he just finished smoking as I walked in the door. Long story short, he did not communicate with me and prepped my nails for shellac. Afterwards, he started re-sanding my nails down on the highest setting with the drill because he was frustrated and mad. My real nails were throbbing in pain underneath. 2 days later my ring finger nail breaks due to the over sanding of my nails. I go back to the shop on 7/5 to show and tell them my disappointment with the nail. The guy with the glasses who collects the money re-did that nail for me. He said he has never worked with long nails like mine and I could tell because he put so much powder on the nail and it didn't look the same as the others. I won't be coming back here based off the man with the glasses who corrected the broken nail. You do NOT accuse a paying client of lying about a nail or tell me why didn't I get it fixed somewhere else. I came back to show you your techs work. The customer is always right and you shouldn't ever argue with them. Thank you for fixing the problem, but I deserve better service and will gladly choose who I give my hard earned money too. They also did not offer me anything to drink and did not have wifi like their price sheet says. read more

This review is strictly for the pedicure. If you're looking for a quick inexpensive pedicure, then this may be the place for you. I guess I'm spoiled I prefer the salons that do extra stuff on their pedicures with special scrubs, wax, hot stones, massages etc. This salon was about as basic as it gets, they didn't do anything special. Didn't even offer me anything to drink. As far as hygiene, they clean the instruments but I was a little thrown off that they do not clean the tubs where the feet are placed for the pedicures. They don't even spray them down with disinfectant. I personally prefer the salons that put the baggie over the tub before putting the water into it. In the end, they charged me $20. I typically spend $45 at the other places I go to, so there is definitely a big price difference. read more

I have been to many nail salons in the last few months and for me this one is TOTALLY the BOMB!! Cooperation is one thing that is honored here. A lot of the other salons I have visited always told me that they could do the nails I wanted w/ designs. But when it came time to do them they all of a sudden did not have someone in the salon to do them, I had one give me the excuse that he did not have his special brushes that he used to make the designs. This is a really nice salon. I came here to fill in my acrylic nails. They prefer appointments. I had called and set one up 30 minutes before I showed up. Two of my nails had broken off and they took care of them well. I didn't get the name of the woman who took care of me, but she was very friendly. She did my nails in a coffin shape and took the time to make them nice. They have a lot of colors to pick from too. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a new spot to get your nails done. I only paid $28 for the two nails and a refill. read more

Literally the only thing that could make this place better is having a wrist rest at the hand stations. Amy gave me a full set of colored powder and it hasn't lifted or anything, perfectly shaped, stayed very shiny. Okay so, I went off of Yelp reviews and decided to try this place out. I walked in and was greeted, everyone had someone they were working on so I understood the wait. I waited for almost forty minutes, and no one even asked what I wanted. Finally a man asked me what I wanted, and began to work on my nails. He did a terrible job.... Light years above any other salon in Houston in my opinion. I have gone EVERYWHERE and nobody compares to this wonderful establishment. Steven is wonderful yes, but the other ladies are phenomenal as well. I feel so bad because I always forget her name, I want to say Hannah, but she does the best designs you've ever seen. I can come in with something Ive seen on pinterest and leave with it looking BETTER. They listen to everything you say, and it comes out how you pictured them to look when you leave. the pedi's are $20 and spa is $25 and they do an immaculate job. I get acrylic sets and the refills are only $15. I will never go anywhere else. No matter where I live this is my home salon. They get really busy in the late afternoon and sometimes its impossible to get in on a Saturday immediately, but they work their hardest on getting you in as soon as possible. just moved to the area and wanted to get my nails done before a 3week trip. I got a pedicure and full set. My pedicure was maybe 10mins long, she was trying to get me out the way & start on someone else. She didn't scrub nor do cuticles, just clip lotion and paint. For my full set disappointing to say the least, no cuticle cutting, cutting of nails, grinded down the sides of my fingers until 4 of them bled then did a half ass powder dip. The color is very uneven, not colored on the curved side, & dull/ rough looking. Before i could ask for adjustments after washing my hands, another women was in my seat with my phone and bag & starting on her nails. I don't live on this side of town anymore, but travel over here to get my dogs groomed every couple of months. Instead of going all the way home and back I will run errands. I decided to get a pedi since I was due for one. I came here on the recommendation of a friend. This place is horrible. I was greeted when I first come in. And am told to pick a color. The selection of colors is minimal. I finally found a color. Wait for 5 minutes and am told which chair. I ask to use the restroom and set the color on her work station. I cone back and get settled in the chair. The tech is very rude and not friendly. This is the shortest pedicure I've received ever. She pulls a random color out of a drawer and asks if it was color I picked. I tell her no. She can't find the color I put there. I have to get up and look for it myself only to find she put it back on the shelf. The pedi is awful!! read more

I chose this place based on the reviews I read on yelp. There are nail salons closer to me with good reviews but this one had the best so decided to give it a try. I have been getting color acrylic nails for over two years now and I have to say this is the best place I have ever been too. I have never had someone be so precise and do them exactly the way I want them and I have to say I am very meticulous. This will be my regular spot from now on, there is no reason to go anywhere else. The prices are beyond good as well. As soon as I was seated, a young man comes in from a smoke break, sets his cigarettes down, and immediately begins to place tips on my unclipped, un-filed, un-prepped fingernails. The table was uncomfortable and there wasn't even a towel set down to rest my hands upon while this is happening. I requested an ombre style, and partway through these tips being placed on, another tech switches and finished that up. At this point my hands reek of cigarette smoke from the male who was working on me before. The process was sloppy, and the powder was dragged all over my fingers. No shaping around the cuticle area, just shoved inward, uncomfortably & jagged. It's so shapeless, I was later told that the nail looked like a press on. The nail is long, and not the shape I'd asked for. When the nail tech finished and brought me up to pay, I notice a gray film all around my fingers that would not come off. It was the acrylic powder that was dragged all over my fingers. I tried to peel it away, but it would not come off. I show her and she then seats me down again and takes 15 minutes to use acetone to pull it all off. She was going to have me walk out this way. Still unhappy with the way these nails look, I go back in the next to have the cuticle area, and shape corrected and wait over an hour before anyone helps me. Finally the cuticle area is shaped, but again, the wrong shape was given. This is even after showing her a picture of what I wanted. These nails are done so poorly that my natural nails can be seen separated from the acrylic nail. They look terrible. I'm new to the area from Montrose and had meticulously searched for a highly rated, trustworthy shop to call home. I regret choosing this shop. I plan on commuting to my old nail shop to have these removed/corrected immediately and I will never be back to Nails Couture. read more

There's a gap between the frame nail and my nail which I'm sure is harboring lots of germs. He rushed and shaped them horribly. One of the girls saw and said something to him but they still expected me to pay full price for trash. Probably the worst nails I've ever had in my life. The polish somehow needed up all over my arms and fingers, and pretty much every where except my nails. While the price beats most places the quality is extremely low. The chairs were worn down to they were making noise. Stopped in for a quick eyebrow wax on Friday morning. I used yelp to help find a salon near my home, and this one came up. The salon itself was decorated nicely and pretty clean. The staff greeted me when I walked in and asked what I needed done and asked me to have a seat and wait maybe 15 minutes. There were 2 ladies who were there before me. Over 30 minutes later I got my eyebrows done and left. She did a decent job and was very nice and apologetic about the wait. I probably won't be back unless I make an appointment. While waiting there were a few people who came in who were taken straight to a chair, so I assume they had appointments. read more
