This is the worst Nail Salon in Smyrna. First, you will notice the fowl odor in the salon somewhere between fecal matter, cigarettes and nail polish, next the salon is very dated and the gel choice colors are dated as well. Why is the gel polish cracking after one day. Cause it's cheap gel polish, and the nail tech was trying to every ounce out of an obviously old bottle of gel polish instead of open a new bottle, and refused to acknowledge my request as if I was asking for too much and polish was all over my fingers afterward. I saw a lot of bad reviews for Nails First so I was skeptical, but decided to pop in anyway just b/c I was already over there and had some time - so glad I did! It's under new management and I couldn't have had a better experience. I was greeted right away not only by my manicurist, but also the new owner. My manicurist helped me pick out a color (I was looking for something pretty specific) and started working on my nails right away (I got the powder dip). Everyone was so friendly - the owner even came over to chat for awhile and offered me a beverage (wine ;)). My nails turned out great - only $5 for extra tips which I needed b/c I basically bite my nails down to the skin. Overall - decent pricing, extremely helpful and kind (and funny!) staff and I am very happy with my nails! I'll be going back in a few weeks :). read more

frustrating! I had a pedicure/manicure. I chose the gel color that I really wanted. It was a pealized, very light pink, natural looking. Of course they wanted to charge me $10 extra for the Color I chose. I was willing to do it. After sitting for an hour and a half I realize the color was not accurate. I'm not want to complain. I walked in there wanting a natural light pink color. I walked out with a glittery gold color on my toes and fingers. Very disappointed. I tried the new owners of the Nail Salon. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I went in on Thursday for a gel manicure and pedicure. The older gentleman in the front did my manicure. He wasn't rushing and seemed to be taking his time. I'm it sure what the issue is with the gel polish, but this is what my nails look like TWO days later. Yes, this is what my nails look like on Saturday after having gotten them done on Thursday. Only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the pedicure was pretty good. I will never get a manicure from this place again. I wasted $30 on a gel manicure. I should've went somewhere else. Also, the pedicures here are different from other places I've been. This place doesn't include the callous removal in the basic pedicure. It's $5 more. Any other nail salon includes the callus remove (where they scrub your feet/heel) in the basic pedicure and the price increases with additions such as massage, scrubs, stones, etc. Overall, I wouldn't recommend going here. Terrible experience. I wouldn't not tell anyone to go here and would honestly tell people to avoid it. I went here just to get my acrylics removed. The woman who removed them barely used a drill and used no (literally 0) acetone - she simply used another fake plastic nail and ripped them off my natural nail. Idk how she had her license for this. It felt like my nails were being ripped off from my fingers the whole time. I almost started crying. Terrible. I go to Sophia here at Nails First. She is very dedicated to her customers and is a perfectionist. She always takes time to do a top notch job on my nails and I always look forward to going to see her. sometimes she is so booked up that I have to wait to get in with he but it is always worth the wait! I have not had a complaint with any time she has done my nails. I understand there are other talented technicians here as well, but I do not know their names. I could not be happier with my experience with Sophia! Sophia is very hard working and you can find her at work six days out of seven. She is a very hard worker and has become a good friend. I'd like to start off by saying that I rarely speak up about my bad experiences because things happen sometimes and everyone has their own struggles BUT this was by far the worst nail salon and experience I've ever had. I was super stoked to get my nails done and treat myself , which doesn't happen often because I have two young children. Right after I was done I wasn't thrilled about the results( small bumps and lumps) but I let it go. About halfway through the week they started to look really sad and outgrown with one nail popping off slightly. I politely called and asked if they could fix them and she said I needed to come in. So I packed up my two month old and headed in. (This is where it gets good) She took one look and proceeded to tell me that my nails looked that way because My nails were growing. I tried to explain to her that I have never had outgrown nails as quick as this. She told me they absolutely would not fix them and didn't care. At this point everyone is looking at me trying to calmly explain the situation. She proceeds to tell me they look bad because I have kids I'm caring for. She takes it a step further and mocks me in front of other technicians and clients. I'm an exhausted mother just trying to have a few moments of relaxation and pampering and ended up crying in front of a group of strangers. To make it even better the person talking to me was the OWNER. Kim I don't know if you're hurt, miserable or just money hungry but you should never treat your customers like that. I sincerely hope that you find happiness and realize how unprofessional and hurtful that experience was. I will never return and urge others to avoid at any and all costs!! I've Been here a lot they used to be okay with reasonable prices less than the going rate. I had kinda forgot why I stopped coming. Now I realize or remember why. They raised prices but offer nothing extra or more than before. Actually if anything they offer less there color selection has slowly dwindled. Today I noticed the only brand that I could find the baby powder blue color I wanted in was LA colors if you know nail polish you know this is a cheap Walmart or drug store brand.... Which is a no go for me considering how much prices have increased. They also made me sit here and wait 30 mins before filing my tub with water and starting the whirlpool. I don't mind waiting cause I understand that's completely normal at a nail salon however I've never not had someone go ahead and fill up the water so I could at least relax and soak my feet while waiting. Bottom line this used to be a good salon for the price . But they reduced quality and on top of that increased prices. Won't be coming here again period. read more

This was the worst pedicure ever. It felt like a pit stop at NASCAR. He rushed the soak and didn't file. The cuticle cream was on for 30 seconds and he was rinsing. My foot never made it back into the water. I called attention to the lack of scrubbing on the bottom and heel of my feet. He said I needed to upgrade. He then walked off. I grabbed the lotion to massage the dry patches and he starts saying just a little. My feet were ashy! I was in and out of the chair in 25 minutes. This place is a mess. The pedicure I received was very horrible. Didn't hurt or anything but she also didn't do anything really. All she did was brush my toes and my heels, filed my toenails, massagesd me, and painted them. While on the other hand the other lady did my sisters and she seemed to have got the full package and she got way more done to her feet than me. Okay... let me start out by saying I am not confrontational, at all! I come in put my name on the list and sat down. One of the male nail techs calls me back to have a seat in the pedi- chair. I do so. He leads me to the chair and walks off. I'm sitting with my feet in an empty basin. 10 minutes passed, 20 minutes passed and my feet are still seated in an empty basin. One of the female techs walked by me three times, never acknowledged me, nor did she even think to come fill the basin. I've NEVER been to a nail salon where they didn't fill the basin, turn on the jets and add some sort of product to the water. Finally, the lady comes and fills the basin, but didn't turn on the jets. She walks off to tend to the patron that she was currently servicing. As I'm sitting here with my feet in the basin, the male nail tech who lead me to the chair ushered a lady to the pedi- chair beside me, filled the basin, turned on the jets and added a scoop of product. He apparently went to retrieve the tools for the lady's pedi and as he walked past my chair he informed me that the other female tech would be right with me. I then asked him if the jets worked. He chuckled a little, said something in their language and turned on the jets. Oh, and he even put a scoop of the salt into the water. Needless to say, I will NEVER come back to this nail spa. They're either homophobic or sexist, or hell... a combination of both. The customer service is outstanding, and they have a variety of colors and designs to select from. They do not try to upsell you and assist you based off your needs and that is something I appreciate! Came for a pedicure. They were nice and fast but they didn't really do anything. She cut my toe nails down and painted them. She never did anything to the bottom of my feet, she didn't put the weird gel on the bottom of my feet to get the dead skin off or anything. Next, they weren't going to let my girlfriend & I sit next to each other while getting our nails done even though literally EVERY seat was available in the entire shop. My nail tech stopped my manicure to get on Facebook, while my friend's stopped to text his wife. To add to this experience, my nail tech ripped part of my cuticle off and made me bleed but proceeded to put some liquid on it that burned until I almost cried without even apologizing. Worst and most unprofessional experience I've had in over 25 years. Went in for a gel nail repair. About 4 nails were lifting. Technician said it would be best to replace them. Technician tried to rip off my artificial gel nails without soaking which was painful on all but about 4 nails. Tech continued to do it his way after multiple attempts to communicate that he was hurting me. He refused to stop until I finally had to ask him to stop and to please soak off my nails. I decided to not do anything else but to get my nails off and leave. My colleagues warned me to not go but I was desperate for a late night fill before an important meeting the next day. Best cheap, no nonsense place to get your mani-pedi that I know of in Smyrna. My friend also got a wax and was really pleased with the place. I first came here to have my nails done for my wedding. I came in again over a year later to have my nails done for a friend's wedding and the lady remembered me! That's the kind of place this is. Also, you don't get the feeling that they're talking about you in Vietnamese. They actually enjoy talking TO you. Or, if you're just in the mood for a quiet 45 minutes, they don't try to engage you in conversation too much. I can't think of any complaints at all! To be on the safe side, make an appointment. OMG! I had to call 911 seriously! So when she started my nails she asked me how long I told her and she cut it much lower than I requested. So she had to remove it and place a new nail. Then on my next hand middle finger she put it on uneven pointing towards my other finger. I asked her did she noticed it was wrong she removed it. Then my nails looked so unnatural I asked her to make it look more natural. To make a long story short I stopped her and said no I am not paying for this to the manager he said I was and I said no I will call the police. I called and sat and waited for the police.
