The best part about this place is that they were open on Christmas Eve. I got a mani/pedi with gel polish. I don't think the guy who did my nails had much experience. I'm wondering if maybe I would have gotten nicer nails if I had gone to the beauty school. The gel polish was all completely uneven - thick in some places and thin in others. He got gel polish on my cuticles (which will cause lifting within days on me) and on my skin on my toes, which then ended up with jagged edges snagging my bed sheets. My husband and I went here for our anniversary and it was very relaxing! Kim did a great job on my pedi and mani. She put a double clear coat to make my nailpolish last longer and fan dried my nails, she said so they wouldn't bubble. My nails looked awesome! LOVE the new location on West 11th! I moved from Portland a year ago and have not been happy with the local nail salon options. This place is brand new, gorgeous, well-staffed, and they took excellent care of me today for a solar fill and deluxe pedi. Very clean, great service, and a truly luxurious experience. I could have done without the hip-hop videos playing on all the big screens (that was a lot of booty for 10 in the morning), but otherwise I'm very happy. To start off I to wait a about 20 mins to get seated at my scheduled appointment. The fella ended up stabbing my skin while taking off the cuticles. Told the guy I quit and didn't want my pedi and he pulled my feet forward and kept going. Then kept trying to pull away and he continued to massage my legs. After he put the hot towel and walked away I cleaned everything up and told him again I had asked him to stop, not only did I feel violated in a way but also the owner said since there was no blood I still had to pay. She said I should have walked away then and there but I was not alone and still had to wait for my sister to finish her pedi. I haven't paid yet but they took my ID info and will review footage to see if I'm lying. Worst service I have ever received. I approached the guy at the end and he denied everything and kept walking away when I asked him why he didn't own up to his awful work. He ignored me and shoo'd me away. Today Connie gave me one of the best manicures if not the best manicure I have had in my whole life and I cannot thank her enough! She spared no attention to detail and didn't rush at all even though long nails aren't her forte. she is super sweet and keeps the conversation with you and also knows when you just want to sit there and not talk and she always has really good suggestions for nail colors and designs. once again Connie I cannot thank you enough you are amazing and I totally appreciate you going out of your comfort zone for me. read more

Well. The massage was good, but this was the first time I had to leave my pedicure, to go home and re-do my pedicure. I had never been to Nails Uncorked, but it's a popular place in the Eugene/Springfield area so I wanted to try it, and I'm extremely disappointed. Between my friend being sprayed down with water by the nail tech and my terrible polish job, I definitely will not be returning, or suggesting this business to any of my friends or family. Quality of my gel, French Mani was a disappointment. Started to peel off the third day (only washed my hands after bathroom and during my showers); regardless, they are supposed to last up to 14 days. Besides the crappy quality, the French design was shotty and lines were skimpy. The manicurist also flooded my nail beds with the Polish and didn't clean it out before curing. After my experience I had to clean them up at home (no wonder they give you a file and buffer after their service). Super nice environment and staff, would expect better quality. read more

Very disappointed. On vacation visiting family and my sister in-law and I treated ourselves to a pedi here. We chose this spot because we thought it would be nice to enjoy a glass of wine while we got our pedis. The service was sub par and the pedis were half assed my particular technician appeared hungover and made it pretty obvious she wasn't happy to be at work today. My boyfriend and I booked an appointed for pedicures and when we arrived we were told to have a seat, we waited about 5 mins and were taken to the pedi area. I will never come back to this salon! I came in for a fill and pedicure. Upon arrival, the girl at the front desk didn't ask if I wanted a drink even though customers around me and even after my arrival were offered. When it came to do my fill, Mindy asked if I wanted my length of nails shorter and I said I did. She left them at the longer length and when I asked her to shorten them she said that I didn't tell her. She took a regular nail file and barely filed them down. After my fill, I noticed my entire left hand was misshapen and massively uneven. I told the girl doing my pedicure and she went and got Mindy. Just like the nail salon joke, I was told it was the shape of my finger and that I was wrong. I told her no and she grabbed my nail file and just filed the sides which made them look even worse. The girl doing my pedicure was very nice to me and even the surrounding customers asking how their day was and seeing if they wanted refills on their drinks. However, once the other customers left, her and the girl at the front desk who kept coming over to my nail tech, proceeded to talk about how negative it was to work there and their frustrations with work. Lack of professionalism is a huge red flag in this establishment. I would not refer this salon to anyone! read more

Nail Uncorked is really shitty. I had a broken nail that split down the middle and he started to drill it down carelessly which I told him several times he was hurting me and he didn't care. He told me to go home and come back tomorrow after painting one hand ! He literally told me because he was tired is why my nails are shitty. Another half assed pedicure. I don't expect much, but I do expect the basics. Barely any filing or shaping and the scrubbing of my feet. I use gel polish on my toes and the proper way to remove it is not picking or using the dremel. That is why I take the time and remove it before I go. I've been getting my nails done with her for the past 7 months, and every single time I am in awe. She takes her time, she's patient. Even when I don't know what or how I want my nails done. I will keep coming back to her. She's absolutely amazing. Also, tween is back! And she is absolutely amazing as well!!! My girlfriend had been seeing her the past few months and always leave so happy! But.. As I've said I have been coming here for 7 months.. So I have seen alot of people come and go.. And I hate to say this.. But alot of people leave unhappy. Girls are paying so much money to have nice nails, and I think that some people forget that.. This is something that we spend time on, looking up ideas and rewarding ourselves. We want to feel fancy and pampered.. I am in LOVE with this place! I've been here a few times. It's always been with another person and we've all had amazing experiences! Each person I've had do my pedicure has been polite, social, and very detail oriented. They want to make sure they do a good job without making your cuticles bleed (like other places around town) You can get a nice relaxing beverage like a mimosa or some delicious local wine. I left the gateway location last night 9/25 with dusty crappy looking nails that were sandblasted and full of dust, that they didn't even bother to wipe or clean off at all! This is not a full service nail salon!! The person working on my nails didn't seem to care about my satisfaction at all, he didn't speak to me once except to say "done". Sat completely silent and seemed annoyed even at having to be there. They even wanted to charge me $7 to have sandblasted my nails.!! This was my first experience getting gel nail polish on my natural nails that were healthy and strong, and I was thoroughly disappointed in this service!!!!! Absolutely not worth it!! I still can't believe they call themselves full service and don't even bother wiping your nails to even see if they got it all! They wanted to charge me $7 for this alone! I ended up coming home to have to buffer off even more of the leftover crap on my nails that was still there cause the guy working on my nails didn't even bother to make sure he did a good job! I still had leftover stuff stuck on my nail. They charge for this!!!!??!!! I will be sure to never recommend this place to anyone and I don't recommend anyone pay their ridiculous prices either, especially with the way they behave towards their customers either. There is nothing that's all that friendly about the experience when sitting in front of someone there having your nails done. Reception staff seems to be the only enjoyable friendly staff. The people you are sitting across don't speak to you and instead have conversations amongst themselves in another language, never really speaking at me at all, the customer. Isn't this suppose to be full service?? No one I've seen working on a persons nails even bothers to be friendly, both times I've been in! They even can't fill out their own paperwork/form! I have never had such an awful experience with getting my nails done. I asked the nail tech if he could do a design that I had found.He stated no but in gel, I asked him to and he stated maybe next year. He then proceeds to plie two of my nails claiming they were lifting. I then asked if he could do a matte finish and stated that he would only if I did gel since it would last longer. After which he made all my nails ranging in length and at a 90 degree angle. To top it off a male tech after being told a female was in the bathroom opened the door further to get a better look then casually closed it before the lady got a chance to lock. I was not super pleased with the work they did on my nails and my friends nails. I have long nails so I just opted for a gel polish. My friend got acrylic nails with gel polish. I explained to the lady the way I wanted my nails done, and she started to do them wrong. No big deal, I will just correct her before she gets to far. She wipes the polish off and starts doing them the same way I just corrected her on...the lady next to her had to tell her what she was doing wrong. Also, the gel polish is bumpy in some areas and also thinner in some areas. Definitely not an even coat. One of my nails is also crooked, but I know that kinda thing happens sometimes, so that isn't my biggest worry. My friend got acrylics. She asked the lady to make her nails rounded and very short. (she is in cheer and cannot have long nails.) She did not make them short even when my friend corrected her on it. She also wanted a matte black nail, and the lady doing her nails forgot, so she added the matte coat on at the very end, leading the matte coat to look weird. I was not super impressed with this place. I will probably just get a pedicure here if I ever come back, but definitely getting my finger nails done somewhere else. read more

I got a gel manicure at the Gateway location of Nails Uncorked last Friday. Within two days, the polish starting chipping. I have had many gel manicures from many other salons in the past and have never had this happen. I also didn't do anything out of the norm with my hands/fingernails within this time to cause the chipping. I'm super busy right now with other things and don't have time to go in to have them redone. I called the Gateway store 4 days after and no one answered so I call the next day and was told that I needed to talk to the manager, Derek, and was given another number to call. I called that number but Derek wasn't there so I spoke with Luke who is the manager of the West 11th store I believe. I explained to him everything that I outlined above. He said sometimes this happens and that that they only will redo a manicure within 3 days of getting it done and they do not give refunds. I told him that this was very poor customer service (I've worked in the customer service field for many years myself), but he didn't care. I said okay, I guess the only recourse I have is to leave a poor review. Even at this he made no attempt to make it right so this is why I'm leaving this review. Generally, I'm not a person that even leaves reviews as I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but I felt it was necessary with this one. Called ahead to make an appointment so I didn't have a long wait. I still waited almost an hour for my pedicure to get started. When I was done with that, I asked about the nail fill that I also scheduled only to find out they didn't have anyone available to do it. They try to work off a walk in list as well as a schedule and neither one was working. I understand being short handed, but where I come from, that means you have to turn people away and not keep trying to squeeze people in to make the money. All they managed to do is upset people. I went in today with my 6 week old baby who was asleep in her carrier. Any new parent knows this is a risk, but she seemed really out and I have had no time to do my nails now that I have an infant and a preschooler. The baby woke up crying about 10 mins into the manicure. While I was scrambling to tend to her the technician was so patient. When she didn't stop crying I was about to cut my losses and leave, but one of the other employees came over and offered to hold her while my nails were finished. She held and rocked my baby for 20 mins so I could have my nails done. I was so touched by her kindness and the patience of the technician. Plus my nails turned out great. read more
