I was looking for a clean, professional, soothing place to have my nails done. Lots of places offered one or two of those traits, but nailsaloon covered them all. I like the aesthetic- cool but not uncomfortable, quiet and soothing. The manicures I got from Tanya were very good. I usually get gel manis, but these products lasted almost as long (caveat- I was more careful with my nails than I usually am). I do like the fact that NailSaloon's products are better for my nails. read more

Gave this place a try as my usual place is under renovation and a friend recommended it. The actual salon is very nice and clean, and I love that they sterilize their equipment after each client. The staff were very friendly as well. However, my experience was just meh. The technician clipped two of my cuticles and made me bleed. I asked for a nail shine and buff, but after leaving and seeing what was done in the daylight, there was no shine and they looked more scratched than when I got there. The technician even made sure to ask if I wanted high shine. My nails were uneven, meaning many were longer on one side than the other. I ended up having to go buy a nail buff just to fix what was done. $32 for a mediocre men's manicure seemed excessive. read more

Service was outstanding, nails looked amazing and even though my manicure polish didn't last longer than 3 days, I want to blame my constant hand washing as opposed to the nail polish they used, because my toe nail polish, which was a different color lasted forever!! The customer service at the Nail Saloon is amazing and it is truly a relaxing experience. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because it is much pricier than the other usual nail spots in town. I brought my friend to celebrate her birthday with pedicures. It was very easy to make our appointments online and we were welcomed and seated immediately. The nail technicians did not chat at all and I was able to talk to my friend and really enjoy her company. The pedicure was outstanding as well - such a wonderful massage! We were offered drinks and decided on specialty cocktails which were delicious. It was packed but was not noisy and we were enjoying ourselves in our very comfortable chairs while listening to music. The exposed brick, clean, sleek features and fun long chandelier add to the experience. I will definitely be back to Nail Saloon for another special occasions. read more

I changed my appointment from 630pm to 730pm since I was coming from VA during rush hour. I thought that what was agreed upon and put it down on my calendar. I was driving around for 20mins looking for parking and walked in 10mins late. Apparently, they had me down at 715pm???? And said that they called me on my phone. This is the best nail salon I have ever been to...and that's saying a lot. I walked in early in the morning in a pre-LSAT haze. Be prepared to pay a little more, but it is TOTALLY worth it. Here is why: -You can book online. This means no waiting...and what's your time worth??? -Everyone is SO nice. I was fortunate to get to chat with one of the owners, Andrea (sp?) while getting my nails done there. -These are real nail professionals. I can't remember the last time I got such a perfect manicure. -The space is gorgeous and pleasant. It's not in a basement; it is well-lit with exposed brick walls and a cool modern feel. -Everything is CLEAN! And I don't mean 5-second-rule clean. I mean, real clean. -They have awesome drinks. Delicious custom-made coffee for mornings, and wine and mixed drinks for the after-work crowd. -Everything is all natural. This means you don't walk out of the salon with a raging migraine. Went in for my first pedicure since COVID hit a year ago. Pedicure looks fantastic and the salon was taking appropriate steps to try and keep customers safe. Customers were well spaced apart, technicians had masks and face shields, upon arrival customers temperatures are checked and you are required to wash your hands, while I was there all customers were wearing masks appropriately, with many wearing double masks or KN95 masks. read more

I've been to NailSaloon about 4 or 5 times now and it's sort of spoiled me. It's an impeccably clean place, decorating charmingly and full of super friendly staff. My manicures here regularly last two full weeks without chips, which is amazing given that I'm pretty hard on my hands (cleaning addiction). While their services cost a bit more than a corner manicure mill, they're on par with the slightly better salons (at least in Virginia), but far better. Also, extra points for offering the Economist right next to US Weekly as a reading option. My only complaint has been that some technicians are better than others. I highly recommend browsing reviews before booking an appointment and trying to book with a specific person. When I haven't been 100% in love with my mani / pedi, NailSaloon has always been quick to happily welcome me back for a touch up. read more

Justine was lovely and great to talk to, and Sarah did my service and I liked her as well! Everyone here is quite friendly. They even cleaned my rings during my manicure! Side note - I hope they consider getting LVX non-toxic nail polish, I've heard its good! Loved this place, however, I'm a stickler for receiving a warm and welcome atmosphere when I visit a new location. I made reservations online, and my appointment was confirmed. When I walked in, the entire front desk just stared at me...no hello, or welcome to the saloon. It was awkward and uninviting. I proceeded to confirm my appointment and from there everything else went well. The technicians are nice, and they did an amazing job with my plain manicure. I went here recently and had a very bad experience. I got a manicure and pedicure with nail art for me and one other person, a $208 trip. I was happy to pay the price for a chemical free environment and a good product, but the day after I left the nail polish was completely chipped. On top of that, they said that the girl who did nail art would finish my manicure after someone else did the bulk of the work, but they never switched manicurists and the nail art was as not good at all. This is a consistently wonderful place to have a mani or pedi. I am always impressed by how friendly the technicians are. I always feel like they take the time to get to know me and are interested in how my day is going. Even if this isn't true, they are doing a good job of making me believe it! The front desk staff are also exceedingly welcoming and friendly. I appreciate that they offer complimentary beverages. While I usually just get a mani, the pedi is worth every penny. I have never had an experience less than stellar and love the way my nails look after a mani here. I appreciate that they use products with less chemicals than a standard nail salon. This is such a great nail salon. The front desk people and the nail techs are so pleasant. The salon itself is really pretty and clean. There are comfy leather chairs, free drinks, great nail color choices, and overall just a significant "step-up" from the other salons in the area. The actual manicure and pedicure services are great. I'm pretty hard on my nails, so the manicure lasted a little under a week for me. My pedicures (I've gone twice for a pedicure), lasted about two weeks before they started to look worn. So i had my sister's bachelorette party here at Nailsaloon. They were so accomdating and we couldnt be happier. Sure the price is steeper than my normal nail place which is super close to my place but the ambiance, the service and the fact that they accomodated a larger group was AWESOME! My sister's friends and I were so happy with everything and my sister had a blast. I recommend this place for parties or just a pampering when you feel like you need it! This review is long overdue - I was in DC from NY in November and it was one of the best, high end, spa style mani experiences I've ever had. Justine, who runs the front, hooked me up with appointments last minute to host a client and really got me out of a pickle. She was also so cool and welcoming. This salon is great! One of the few that offers non-toxic nail care. It's easy to breathe in there, calm, inviting, and everyone is really nice. I got a mani here, and it chipped within 3 hours. I called back and said I was a little disappointed, and the girl said I can come in whenever and they'll fix it. I came back at 9 AM when they opened, a super nice girl repainted all of my nails, and it was free of charge. Awesome service, really great selection of colors/polishes, and very very nice staff! However I get manicures a lot, and for the price of the manicure I'd expect a lot longer lasting, better quality manicure. Need to post an update to my review: after my lackluster first visit, Andrea & Claudia reached out right away to talk over some of my concerns and offer to have me back as their guest for a service at nailsaloon. Not only do I appreciate their honest communication, but my second experience was terrific. I returned for a pedicure and the technician was great; I apologized for not having any baby toenails because I'm a runner and so she thoughtfully checked throughout the pedi to make sure I didn't have any callouses or anything else she needed to be careful of. After Andrea & Claudia explained their focus on investing more in their facilities than most salons, I understand why their prices are higher. For me, I still love my gels so this will probably be more of a splurge than a replacement of my normal nail routine. There was a bridal party in there when I was getting my pedi though and I can see that nailsaloon would definitely make a group nail date a lot more special! read more

I was in town for a quick trip and had a few hours to squeeze in a manicure. This place was convenient and had good reviews so I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did! I went at 4 on a Tuesday afternoon - it wasn't too busy so they were able to take me right away. Sani (sp?) was my nail tech - she did an amazing job! This may be my best manicure ever. She made sure each nail was exactly the same length and shape - I don't think that has ever happened before!! The ambiance was perfect - clean, comfy and relaxing. Clean beauty is important to me, and I was so excited to find a 5-free nail salon that was reasonably-priced, kid-friendly, and absolutely gorgeous. They offer a wide, delightful selection of drinks. There are literally bowls of bright, beautiful shades, all free of formaldehyde and other toxins. The pedicure seats are comfy and luxe, the manicure area bright and clean. My daughter had a jr manicure, and I had a full pedicure. Our technicians were warm and talented. The nail polish lasted a week on vacation (pool and ocean/sand), & my pedicured toes lasted over 3 weeks. Highly recommended!!! read more

The salon itself is clean, comfortable, and welcoming, and while all the services are a few dollars extra than some other locations, I believe it is entirely worth it for the experience and quality. I have been coming to Nail Saloon for almost 5 years, and I will say that I have stopped getting manis (I know that gel is terrible for your nails, but if I am going to spend I want it to stay!), however when I was getting them my favorite part was when the technicians offer to polish your jewelry. This is my favorite and go-to place for pedicures in DC. The location is very accessible - a nice walk from the U Street metro or a short bike ride from my house. The space is very clean and open - the lighting makes it feel inviting and warm. All of my pedicures have been outstanding. The polish lasts for several weeks, and I really enjoy the warm towel and leg/foot massages. The staff is very welcoming, helpful and kind. They always listen to my requests, and I always feel relaxed and refreshed when I leave. Last little bonus is the drinks/refreshments selection. I usually get tea or water, but when I have gone with girlfriends, they have enjoyed the wine. Wait, one more bonus is the 5 free polishes - it is a nice touch and the place does not smell like a polish factory! Yes 5 stars. Expensive? You get what you pay for. Kris gave me a wonderful manicure and pedicure! She made sure they were the shape i liked before painting them, I was also able to get my mani first that way they had time to dry during my pedicure. I love that they exfoliate your arms and hands during the manicure as well. The pedicure was just as good, a little TMI but Kris was able to dig out my ingrown toenails and clean up all of the dead skin. If anyone else has this issue they usually fret going to the nail salon in general. The saloon was extremely clean. They have sinks for foot tubs which allows for proper cleaning. Many beverages were offered, i politely declined but next time I may indulge in a latte or some wine! I will be updating this review when I see how long my polish lasts! FWI- Don't try to bring in your own polish they stand by their "Five Free" polish. They do offer many colors and three different brands. Finding the perfect fit should not be an issue. read more

My best friend and I found Nailsaloon on Yelp! I just moved to the area and needed a place to go get my toes done. The salon itself is pretty easy to find, but you do have to walk up some stairs to get to them. When you walk in, you check in and then pick a color. We waited about 10ish minutes past our appointment time but at any salon, that tends to happen. The experience itself was very easy and the ambiance in the salon is very relaxing! I am giving it a 4/5 only because for the price, it wasn't much different from a regular pedicure. You get the usual pedicure, with salt scrub and a massage. They do offer you something to drink as well and the seats are different. They aren't the usual massage chairs. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a high quality salon but I dont think I would go back regularly because of the expense. If my mom is in town, I would bring her here haha but only cause I know she would pay for it Love my color too!!!! read more

Nailsaloon was fine. I came here after I was unable to get an appointment at my regular spot, and they took me right away which was nice. I was not offered a drink. They don't do gel manicures so keep that in mind if that's what you are looking for. It's very clean and my manicurist was very nice and professional. It's been five days and my nails are chipped, which is very unusual for me. Also the price here is pretty crazy, I paid $40 with tip for a regular manicure.
