From my message detailing my concerns to Tilly, which she has chosen not to address. (Main concerns: poor communication, website overpromises on actual services, hidden charges, and Tilly's general unwillingness to propose any reasonable solution.) I arranged a maternity photoshoot for my brother and his wife in November. I had an opportunity to catch up with him over the holidays and appreciate the photos but am disappointed in how this experience unfolded for them. Pre-Shoot Assessment Issues: A significant mismatch between the pre-shoot assessment's outcomes and the actual session led to a waste of time and reduced session duration. It appears the assessment wasn't effectively applied in preparation. The expected support from this assessment influenced the decision to choose your services, and its underutilization is disappointing. Wardrobe Description Mismatch and Session Impact: The wardrobe is described by your website as a "complete wardrobe of soft textures and colors to perfectly complement your figure and bring out that beautiful baby bump." However, it sounds like the wardrobe options were all more revealing than expected, this turned into a prolonged discussion during the session, then a need to relocate the entire session. This consumed valuable session time and devalued the 'complimentary wardrobe and styling' promise that was a deciding factor in choosing your services. Unexpected Tax Charge on Gift Package: The additional tax charge at the session's end was unexpected, feels like poor customer service, and a grey area for business practices. As the session was intended to be a complete gift, any ancillary costs should have been communicated to me and settled beforehand to ensure a frictionless experience. Additionally, the quality of communication and timeline for this time-sensitive maternity shoot was a concern. Oct. 24 - online Book Now inquiry form submitted Oct. 25 - text message sent asking to be invoiced for the package, Tilly responds with email address Oct. 25 - email sent, asking to be invoiced for the $580 package and requesting "any resources to help them prepare for the photo shoot." - support request never acknowledged Oct. 27 - no response from either email request was received, a follow-up email sent from an alternate email account Oct. 28 - Tilly responds to ask what the gift card should say. I responded to advise and ask "please also provide booking info and anything that would set them up for success in the photoshoot (shoot list, best practices, etc)" - support request never acknowledged and booking link not provided Oct. 31 - invoice sent and paid; email sent to TIlly advising invoice is paid and ask "Do you mind please sharing your availability and wardrobe info" - support request never acknowledged Nov. 1 - Tilly responds, directing my family to the homepage of her website, which does not address the multiple support requests or help facilitate the booking. I am way way overdue on this review. Tilly is an absolute joy and she will make you feel like she is a part of your family and also your best friend during the session. It's her unique ability to put you at ease that makes her photography turn out so beautifully. She has a way of capturing you, your family, and your life while you are at you most authentic. We were looking for a maternity and newborn photographer and found Tilly by looking up Seattle photographers, checking out her website and stalking her instagram :-) We LOVED her work and decided to do a family session with my oldest so we could have family photos of just the three of us. We met Tilly at Luther Burbank and had SO much fun working with her despite the freezing weather! Tilly is professional, creative, great with kids, makes you feel comfortable to be yourself and let your family's personalities shine. What we appreciated most about Tilly is that she is 100% real and makes you feel like you're having one of your friends (who happens to be super talented) taking your photos. She's able to get the BEST smiles out of my kids which can be a challenge, especially with my 1 year old. You have the option to do a shoot outdoors, at your home or in her beautiful in home studio. We've taken advantage of all 3 options and done several family shoots (including a large extended family one), a maternity shoot, a newborn shoot and a mini session...all in the span of 2 years! What a find! I connected with Tilly through a referral from a co-worker while admiring a photoshoot Tilly had done of a 2 year old. I wanted to surprise my husband for Father's Day by getting photos of our 20 month old daughter that captured her personality at this stage of her life. The process was simple. I requested the service online and was immediately contacted to set up a time and location to meet. I also signed a contract which is standard. Tilly has an in home studio with plenty of natural light, a beautiful backyard and is a quick car ride away from Lake Washington. She also has an assistant (her dog Abby) who helped keep the kiddo entertained. Don't worry if you have an allergy. The dog has short bristly hair, doesn't shed and the house is extremely clean and well aired. We decided to stay at the studio because the kiddo was getting fussy but we were able to get about 4 outfit changes in an hour. Tilly was so creative and patient with the kiddo and got some amazing shots. I got a sneak peek of some pictures within a day or two and the final thumb drive, packaged beautifully in a personalized tin arrived within 9 business days. Tilly also made a slideshow with music and personal messages from my daughter to my husband which appeared on YouTube and Tilly's blog. NOTE: I got the "I want it all package." I'm so impressed, I'll be coming back for family pictures in the fall. read more

We were so fortunate to have Tilly take our newborn photos. It was a wonderful experience and the photos are absolutely stunning. We were looking for a newborn photographer who would capture our growing family in a natural way -- letting our baby be the star of the show without any unnecessary/distracting props. She has an incredible eye; it was so hard to choose which pictures to frame because I loved all of them! She also didn't skip a beat when our naked baby pooped all over my husband and the white sheepskin rug in the nursery -- she had the oxyclean on that rug within minutes and helped us scrub it out. We found Tilly through Columbia City Parents. We met at Seward Park on a typical cloudy day. She worked with our family for almost an hour, chatting, playing, and gently working us into iconic groupings and poses. She was great with our shy little ones and fun for us to get to know. A week later she dropped off the photos on a CD. She had selected the best and edited each one to get the most out of photos shot on a gray winter day. My husband and I are in love with our maternity photos. I was uncertain where to do the photos in the winter and Tilly had a great suggestion of doing them on a ferry in case it rained. It turned out to be a gorgeous day in December, but the ferry was such a cool location. I am in love with our photos. She was very fun to work with, made me and my husband laugh, and we felt very comfortable. Tilly was very patient in answering all my questions before I booked with her and I love that you get photos in color and black and white. I can not rave enough about how talented Tilly is, she is a true artist!!! Her ability to make her clients feel at ease and get even the most stubborn and rambunctious children to laugh and have fun is a talent in and of itself. The first time we spoke on the phone, she answered my many questions. Then after working with her for a maternity session, I knew we had found our photographer. We have had a maternity session, newborn session in the hospital, newborn session at home and three family sessions with Tilly, all in the last two years!
