Just to give some additional context, a huge rain storm was going on outside. My wife got to the receptionists desk at 921, one minute tardy, due to all those factors I just discussed. She sees the doctor leave the receptionists desk as she gets there, and the receptionist advise her that he is not seeing the 920 appointment, literally for being one minute late. This was extremely rude and just plain ludicrous. I am posting this out there, because doctors have to go back to helping people, and there is an accountability that comes with that responsibility, such as being kind and understanding. I hope no one else encounters a situation like this. We will never see this doctor again. To close the review, the kind receptionists was able to talk to the doctor, after my wife broke down in tears, and the doctor ultimately ended up seeing her. All of which could have been avoided. During the visit, I waited approximately 20 minutes in the examination room before Dr. Szabo…read morearrived. During the appointment, I asked five questions regarding my health concerns; only two were addressed, and the responses provided were brief and insufficient. The examination itself was limited to vital signs. Dr. Szabo then indicated that she would return shortly, but instead a nurse entered the room. I asked the nurse whether Dr. Szabo could return to address my remaining questions, and the nurse stated that she would locate her. After waiting an additional 30 minutes without an update, we left the examination room and observed Dr. Szabo at her workstation. When the nurse again attempted to check whether Dr. Szabo was available, Dr. Szabo screamed/responded harshly that I "was supposed to leave 30 minutes ago." At that point, my remaining questions had still not been addressed, and I left the office without receiving the consultation expected from the visit. Including commute time, the appointment required nearly two hours and concluded without resolution of my medical concerns.

I appreciated all the great reviews of Dr. Boyd and after weeks and weeks of trying to find a…read moredoctor I think I can trust, they helped me decide she was the doctor for me. So I called for an appointment and was told she could see me on August 18 (today is July 2). I have prescriptions that have to be monitored and maintained, and I also have a very painful issues with my arm. I don't think either can wait for August 18. They are two separate appointments and they won't combine them: one is "to establish care" and the other is an illness visit. Once I see her as a "wellness visit" on August 18, I would be able to "get in quicker" to see her in the future. For now, if I'd like to be seen and monitored by "someone else" who has more availability in their schedule I could do that. Well, I've had a terrible experience with a doctor in Chicago that left me with ongoing medical issues that could have been prevented. So I did my research and selected someone I felt I could trust. I was so very lucky to have that in New Orleans (from where I just moved) and I just wanted that again. I don't really want to see "someone else" that I don't know anything about and waiting 6+ weeks to see a doctor I researched heavily. So while I can't really rate Dr. Boyd herself, this is a warning to those who are looking for a doctor: even though her site says she is accepting new patients, I don't think she really has time for them. Be sure you can wait six weeks before seeing her if you choose her. I get why she's busy -- she's good. But why advertise that you're accepting new patients when you really don't have time for someone who needs you?
