Jess is a great teacher for your practice. She has a lot of patience. Lots of classes to choose from for all levels.

Up top: They light incense at this studio, or at least they did when I was there. So, if you're…read moresensitive to smells like incense, you might want to check if it'll be going during your yoga session. I'm right there on the border of being fine with incense and it triggering a headache, but fortunately, it wasn't in the room that we practiced in, just the lobby. I visited Flourish for a hot yoga class with Jessi, and it was amazing! I practice yoga every day, but I only do hot yoga every once in a while, so it's a treat when I do. I always forget how light and cleansed I feel when I leave a hot yoga class. Our class was a vinyasa flow class, with balancing poses and other things added throughout. It was challenging, yet accessible, and we were always encouraged to listen to our bodies and take breaks when we needed to. I took a couple of water breaks and wipe-the-sweat-off breaks during the class, because hot yoga demands it of me. I sweat too much to just power through. The end of class was my favorite. During savasana, when we were lying on our mats and meditating, Jessi came around and put eye mask on our eyes and gave us a little head massage. It was so nice! I always love when instructors adjust me or put their hands on me in some way. It really connects me to the class and my practice. They have hot yoga classes, which is what I attended, but also warm yoga and non-heated yoga classes. I appreciated that they offered all kinds of options.

Shine Yoga & Wellness Studio happened to be around the corner from an errand I was running in downtown Noblesville, so it was perfect. Stars aligning and all that. Brittney was the instructor of the Slow Flow class that I visited, and she was super energetic and welcoming. The yoga studio is very small but cozy and incredibly clean. Our class was tiny -- just five people in person and one joining online. (They offer virtual classes here, too!) I'm used to being in much bigger classes where I can just fade into the background, so this was different but nice. Brittney would offer encouragement to us by name, which was a thoughtful touch. Brittney's Slow Flow class was just what I needed today: A chance to move slowly and mindfully for an hour. She even incorporated some pranayama breathing at the beginning of the class to help us get grounded and prepare our bodies for intentional movement. The entrance to Shine faces an alleyway, which can be a little confusing to get to. But there are lots of signs directing you where to go. Just look for the signs!

My friend told me she did goat yoga in Noblesville and I knew I had to check it out!…read more I booked a sunset goat yoga class online and it was easy. Print out a waiver, sign and bring it with you (although I hope they implement an online waiver). Class is $20 if you bring your own mat and $23 if you rent one. It's located at Pathways to Healings Wellness across from Mustard Seed Gardens and there isn't goat yoga specific signage (at least when I got there a bit early). Parking is very limited but they direct cars to park in the grass on the property. This is a simple 45 minute yoga flow while approximately 10 baby goats run around you. They bring them in for this so no, you're not doing downward dog amongst goat poop (though accidents happen). Goat snacks are provided to entice them, but the goats do as they want - be it wander and munch on grass, snuggle or hop on your back. I found this to be a fun experience, but it's not something I'd see myself doing on a regular basis. More of a "bucket list" thing, but still fun.

We signed up online for $20, (+ $3 more if you want to rent a mat), signed our waiver and we were ready to see what goat yoga was all about! It is located at Pathways to Healing Wellness, but for winter the actual class was held in the back in a garage. Make sure to dress appropriately as it is a but chilly in there. Parking was limited but staff was on hand to direct cars to additional parking in the back. So goat yoga is basically a 45 minute gentle yoga class with 6 baby goats all around you. I really liked how easy the yoga moves were. Even my daughter who is a beginner was able to follow along really well. The baby goats were a total bonus. They roamed around, jumped around and even climbed on you! p.s. They like to chew on hair! After class you are able to pet them, pick them up and even take pictures with them. My daughter and I loved it. She left with the biggest smile on her face and couldn't stop talking about how much fun she had and how cute the baby goats were. We had a great experience and if given the opportunity we would try it again!

I'm still vibrating from my class. I attended Baptiste Power Yoga (now called Fire & Flow Yoga --…read morethey recently changed their name!) on an auspicious day: International Day of Yoga, which also happens to be summer solstice. On this very special day, they were offering a two-hour class where we would be doing 108 sun salutations. I didn't know if I could do that many sun salutations in a row. I was a little bit anxious because I not only didn't know if I could do 108 sun salutations without injuring myself or fainting, but also, I had never been to Fire & Flow, so I didn't know the studio or anyone there. But yoga people are my people, so I went with it and trusted the universe. When I arrived, I was treated like a regular, and everyone was super friendly. I got a little tour of the studio and got to check out the amenities. It's a small but very clean and functional studio, and they offer coffee and tea complimentary, and juice and other drinks to purchase. There are water stations to fill up your water bottle, restrooms, cubbies and a community kitchen where you can hang out. Because this was a long and special class, there were a few different instructors leading, and each brought a different energy to the group. They played uplifting music during the sun salutations, which helped keep up the momentum. At the end of the class, we were brought cold towels that smelled like lavender to put over our eyes while we meditated, and it was honestly the best thing I've experienced all week. I loved my first class at Fire & Flow, and I want to come back to experience a more "regular" yoga class! This place is so welcoming and warm, and I can't wait to visit again.
