Prairie Guest House is one of the most unique accommodation options on Indy's northside, for a few reasons: + This bed and breakfast is located in a restored 1850s farmhouse, with spacious guest rooms and unique decor in each. + Fresh, homemade breakfast made by the owner John each morning in the guest house with an original L.S. Ayres tea room table and a bright porch where you'll want to spend the morning. + A yoga studio on-site, available to guests for a $10 drop in fee or to the general public. Owner Karen teaches! + Convenient location in Fishers across from Conner Prairie, one of the top local family attractions. Can't speak highly enough of the homey, personal experience you will get staying at Prairie Guest House.

I can't say enough about John and Karen's absolutely delightful BNB. This is a BNB akin to what I remember from my youth - full of quaint charm, coziness, warmth, and absolutely scrumptious comfort food to match. Every morning (for about a week), I would jump out of bed eager to zip next door to their gorgeous breakfast quarters to see what chef (and owner - he was donning multiple hats while we were there during COVID season) John had created. The first morning's masterpiece was a quiche that I shall never forget. Beautiful settings combined with fresh cream and scrumptious teas and a different fresh country breakfast prepared especially for us each morning - heavenly is the only word to describe it. John had a delightful way of filling us up with lovely conversation, yet also giving us space while our coffee and tea soaked in. Karen has done a beautiful job of decorating the Prairie Guest House, and Karen and John's cat Fiona added to the charm. I slept wonderfully well there! My husband and I stayed in the Bransfield Room and enjoyed the private patio just outside our door. When I heard a bit of noise from above, a fan was delivered within minutes. There is a shared small refrigerator in a common area of the house that we conveniently used. I also appreciated many of the books that are kept around the home. Self-check-in easily accommodated our late-night arrival. The location was perfect for us, close to my in-laws whom we were visiting. Everything we required could be found nearby. I plan to stay here again and again. It is just the perfect combination of privacy, charm, and adorableness. Thank you for a really wonderful stay, John and Karen!

The egg casserole for breakfast. The chocolate mint tea. The yoga studio in the backyard. Walking distance from Conner Prairie. Historical decor and feel of the property. All of it. From the minute I made my reservation with Prairie Guest House they made the experience so warm and meaningful. This new addition to Fishers boasts a historical and rural flair that makes you feel a world away from the city. The rooms range from two twins to queens with en suite bathrooms. Each of the rooms has a unique flare that stays in line with the history of the home. In the communal spaces of the house you'll find a hefty book collection, stationary and Kuerig coffee cups. Yoga classes are offered throughout the week but you can also schedule private classes. The full breakfast is offered on the weekends and kicks off at 9am with juice, coffee, tea, jams, eggs, bacon and potatoes. Their egg casseroles are filled with veggies like asparagus and zucchini. Note: they're aiming to convert the barn into a venue in 2016 for events (perfect setup for intimate weddings).

Excellent getaway destination for our anniversary! My partner and I loved the homemade pancakes and omelets with homemade blueberry syrup, and we had a wonderful restful weekend together in the lovely Frederick room. Super spacious bathroom and a huge comfy king size bed. The Guest House is also right across the street from Connor Prairie and restaurants are all over the place, so there are plenty of things to do! So glad to have found this gem of a place for a little stay-cation just north of Indy!

After the first month I was hooked and have made the hot room part of my weekly routine ever since. They take pride in their brand, their practice and their community and it shows. All of the instructors are not only skilled but incredibly welcoming and personable, making you feel comfortable and part of the Hot room family from the get-go. The class offerings are versatile enough that you can practice several times a week without feeling the burnt out. It's brought me to the best shape I've been in, both physically and mentally, and I continue to feel challenged at each class. Their response to COVID-19 has been nothing short of remarkable, pivoting to online classes, both at your convenience and live virtual sessions through The Hot Room Now (highly recommend as well) and taking significant measures in-studio to keep the environment safe for those who come onsite. I have been impressed with their transparency through all the changes as well. And now about their beautiful new space in Fishers--just whoa. They have taken the studio experience to a whole new level. This place is chic and immaculate, perfectly located at the Fishers District. Everything else that's wonderful at their Northside and Downtown locations is packaged here as well--the instructors, the boutique, the heat and the community. If you're looking for a new workout routine, even if you think you're not into yoga, give the Hot Room a try. I think you'll be hooked, too.

So, if you're…read moresensitive to smells like incense, you might want to check if it'll be going during your yoga session. I'm right there on the border of being fine with incense and it triggering a headache, but fortunately, it wasn't in the room that we practiced in, just the lobby. I visited Flourish for a hot yoga class with Jessi, and it was amazing! I practice yoga every day, but I only do hot yoga every once in a while, so it's a treat when I do. I always forget how light and cleansed I feel when I leave a hot yoga class. Our class was a vinyasa flow class, with balancing poses and other things added throughout. It was challenging, yet accessible, and we were always encouraged to listen to our bodies and take breaks when we needed to. I took a couple of water breaks and wipe-the-sweat-off breaks during the class, because hot yoga demands it of me. I sweat too much to just power through. The end of class was my favorite. During savasana, when we were lying on our mats and meditating, Jessi came around and put eye mask on our eyes and gave us a little head massage. It was so nice! I always love when instructors adjust me or put their hands on me in some way. It really connects me to the class and my practice. They have hot yoga classes, which is what I attended, but also warm yoga and non-heated yoga classes. I appreciated that they offered all kinds of options.

Shine Yoga & Wellness Studio happened to be around the corner from an errand I was running in downtown Noblesville, so it was perfect. Stars aligning and all that. Brittney was the instructor of the Slow Flow class that I visited, and she was super energetic and welcoming. The yoga studio is very small but cozy and incredibly clean. Our class was tiny -- just five people in person and one joining online. (They offer virtual classes here, too!) I'm used to being in much bigger classes where I can just fade into the background, so this was different but nice. Brittney would offer encouragement to us by name, which was a thoughtful touch. Brittney's Slow Flow class was just what I needed today: A chance to move slowly and mindfully for an hour. She even incorporated some pranayama breathing at the beginning of the class to help us get grounded and prepare our bodies for intentional movement. The entrance to Shine faces an alleyway, which can be a little confusing to get to. But there are lots of signs directing you where to go. Just look for the signs!
