Came here on a Friday morning around 10:30 as a walk in and there was no wait. It became much busier and most people had appointments. They knew many of the customers by name, so I took that as a good sign that they have regular customers. There were about 7 staff working. Large selection of nail polishes. I got a regular pedicure which included a lower leg exfoliation and massage. They have massaging chairs as well. The older woman doing my pedicure was polite and did a base coat and top coat for the regular polish. It took about 30 minutes, and she did a good job. It cost $40 plus $5 to remove my old nail polish. Located in a small shopping plaza with a small parking area on busy Williston Road, so it's a bit hard to turn in and get out of the lot. read more

The service included a massage chair, gel polish, salt scrub, lotion massage, hot towels, and a hot rock & oil massage. At $70, I felt the price was fair for the time and attention given, and I added a 25% tip. They do have a sign requesting payment via cash or Venmo, but card payments are accepted as well. Cleanliness: The salon uses disposable liners in the foot baths and replaces them after each appointment--a great sign of good hygiene. Staff wore gloves during the massage and nail-cutting portion of the pedicure, though not during polish application. One thing I noticed: manicure clients weren't asked to wash their hands before service, which differs from other salons I've visited. It might be worth asking about their protocol--just something to note. Friendliness: Everyone was very friendly! Appointments are prioritized (I booked the night before and got in early--highly recommend that approach!). You can also add notes in the online booking form--I mentioned that my cuticles are a bit on the weaker side, and followed up in nail tech before the service started. Depending on who you book with, there may be quick pauses in service while staff tend to the front end--answering calls, checking out clients, or booking appointments--but they're efficient and courteous about it. Overall, Naku Nails seems to be building a loyal following, and I can see why. It's a comfortable, friendly space for nail care. While I opted for a solid color this time (wanted to see how everything went for a first visit), I could tell they're highly skilled with nail designs--I'd love to try something more detailed next time. After moving to northern VT from NYC, I knew it would be a challenge to find a quality and affordable mani/pedi place. Unfortunately, Allure Salon isn't either. Here's the shakedown of unfortunateness: - Even though there was only one other person getting their nails done, I was rushed. - The woman laughed at the color I chose (what's wrong with taxi cab yellow?) - There wasn't any foot massage (just a very gentle rub of lotion on my legs) - They didn't put on a base coat (what's up with that?) - The final product was pretty darn sloppy with both cuticle cutting and painting - I started getting chips that very night Overall, a big disappointment. Based on reviews I read here, I called for a last minute appointment. Although I was taken quickly, the two women working are each trying to give three pedicures at once and, in my case, not succeeding. I've never had the bum's rush to quite this degree in any of the many nail spas I've frequented around the country. My sweet and friendly worker pretty much didn't touch my cuticles and did the entire pedicure in maybe 20 minutes. Guessing I'll need a redo much sooner than usual. AN HOUR LATER: Okay, it was $30, which is not awful. However, I got home (wearing the cheapo flip flops they put on you) and discovered my polish is already smudged. I was greeted promptly and was told to pick my color. There were four other clients and two workers so I thought it would take awhile but I was wrong.
