This year was the year I dared to go the shortest I ever have and Nali truly worked her magic with me. Nali is highly skilled and precise when it comes to creating the look you want. Things never feel rushed and she takes great care when washing (and massaging) your scalp. The experience is so relaxing and pampering, with chill beats playing in the background. Aside from her amazing hair styling skills, Nali is super sweet and personable to the point where I feel like I'm getting my hair cut by a close friend . Nali is the sweetest and I am so excited to go back for my second, third, fourth touch ups and more! I had heard about Nali from my friend, Lupe, who had gotten a balayage from her. She had always had rave reviews and so I decided to go for it since I never really experienced a great/first salon experience. It was a cute boutique in El Cerrito Plaza and she had her own little shop inside. I needed a change and Nali gave me more than I could have hoped for. We laughed, we talked, and she brought me back to life. I messaged her from Yelp on a Friday night (12 am) if she had any openings and and she responded by Saturday morning at 9 am that she could take me at 6 pm that night. She was running a little late with another client, but she stayed behind and worked with me until 10 pm (even though she usually closes at 6 pm!) My hair is naturally dark black/brown and she gave me a light balayage and a haircut that brightened my hair and my life. This is the third time I have been back to Nali for a sombre treatment, and she never ceases to amaze me with her ability to individualize her treatment to her clients. I love how she comes up with a treatment plan by first taking a look at what your hair needs and then consults with you about whether or not you agree with the treatment plan before she proceeds. I have been visiting Nali for nearly two years now and I have always been very pleased with her work! I came to her after about a year of disappointing hair experiences at other salons. I would ask for a balayage and instead, I received some semblance of a balayage and more of a regular foil highlight 'cookie cutter' look. The results were not of the freehand painting technique that I really wanted. Fortunately, I found Nali in Berkeley and have never left her since! A few months back I got a bad hair cut with choppy layers and literally mismatched lengths. I really hated wearing my hair down because I hated how it looked. I have super thick and heavy hair so I feel like that might be a challenge for a lot of hair stylists. I'm really happy with how my hair turned out. I have had the pleasure of getting a haircut, hair colored and now the Keratin Complex treatment by Nalitha. She is honestly the BEST stylist I have found!! This was my second time going to Nali's for a balayage and man she is an artist. All i had to do was to let her know how light I wanted my hair to go and she took care of everything else. She knows exactly how to make balayage look so natural on you despite the color not being close to your natural hair color. Even though the first time she did my hair over a year ago, I got so many compliments throughout the year about my balayage. I have been working with Nali for 5 years. She is a consummate professional and a pleasure to see whenever my hair needs love. She gives me the freshest haircuts that are both classic and fresh. I have what I call "advanced level" hair. It's thick, coarse and resistant to dye. It is a real challenge going from black to ashy blonde. Nali puts her time and expertise to listen to what I want and makes sure the hair lifts and tones to my satisfaction even if it takes longer than our allotted time.
