This restaurant was steps from our hotel so we gave it a try. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside is really nicely decorated and even the plates and glasses are special. The lighting fixtures deserve a special mention! We came on a Monday evening so it wasn't too busy (mostly people picking up orders), so service was quick and efficient. We ordered only two dishes: baigan bartha and lamb korma, plus naan. The korma was fantastic and the bartha really good too. Our table was a little too small for the amount of people and food. It wasn't that busy on a Friday afternoon at 2:30pm. It took a while for us to get our drinks. Really not sure what the hold up was and why we weren't seated at a more comfortable table. But everything was forgiven when the potato filled Naan was served. I have to thank my friend who insisted I try that. I love plain and garlic Naan, Namaste's was a bit thinner for my taste but that's why in contrast, the potato stuffed was so good. It really puffed up the bread and the potato was mashed and spiced so well it combined with the bread like a twin that could not be separated at birth. I've since had dreams about just stopping by and picking up an order to go - I might do just that! Everything else was standard fare. It's interesting they have a few variations of "Chicken Tikka Masala", the original, the Butter Chicken (which I've not really clear what the difference is. Guess I've never had "Chicken Tikka Masala" and "butter chicken" side by side as a taste test. Love them both though!) and the Mix Max Tikka Masala, which is what I ordered. First time! They are located at the north end of a small shopping center west of Wadsworth Blvd. Very classy decor with glass topped tables and booths. They have patio dining on the north end of building. While I was there I saw several DoorDash drivers and customers picking up takeout. They have a larger selection of cocktails and wine than most Indian restaurants. So I started with a Coconut mojito made with coconut rum, coconut milk, fresh mint and lime with shaved coconut on top. It was served in a tall glass with a metal straw. The coconut milk reduced the strength of the rum, so a nice smooth drink. I got an order of Tandoori wings (1/2 dozen). Nice and spicy. My main entree was the Lamb Madras. It was served in the traditional manner in it's own bowl with lots of basmati rice. I asked for Indian hot for the spice level. You can get extra strength. I added the Kabuli Naan, a wheat naan stuffed with cherries, minced coconut, nuts and raisins. Colorful and not too sweet. I also got a Mango Lassi, a sweet mango & yogurt drink. We're from out of town but end up in Arvada quite a bit to visit my brother. In effort to stay in, we opted for mid-week takeout and he was quick to recommend Namaste! I can't speak to the restaurant itself or the service, but the delivery seemed quick and seamless. As for the food, huge thumbs up all around. According to my British husband, "Namaste was the best Indian food I've had in America." That's saying a lot from him (an Indian food connoisseur). He most loved the Chicken Jalfrazie - cooked with mixed vegetable and fresh ground curry spices, it was super flavorful! My fave was the Tikka Masala, also packed with spice and different flavor notes. The marinated tandoor chicken that came in it was super tender as well. You can't have Indian food without Naan, let's be honest. We ordered garlic naan with cilantro, and a speciality naan (the name slips my mind) but it had cherry flavors in it, which to my surprise was delicious. The slight sweetness is balanced out with saltiness. All of the bread was thinner than what I've had in the past but I still really enjoyed it. Great food, good value, plenty of left overs. That crispy chickpea cracker! And I could eat it! My only criticism is that the waitress was not attentive. We had to get her attention any time we needed anything. She was talking to someone. I work down the street from here, and they have some great Saag paneer and daal. Service was attentive, portions are huge, I loved the naan. I found this place by smell- I knew there was a good indian place in town because I could smell the aromas before I saw the actual restaurant. When you are hungry, you should definitely follow your tummy, it will lead you to good places :) - I have been here twice. I love that they top off your rice with your take out. It makes it easier to have 2 meals without having to buy a whole other thing of rice. The only complaint i had about this place was it was freezing when I dined here (it's winter, I realize) but I literally ate my meal with my jacket on both times. I have a tendency to order similar dishes at each Indian place I visit: Chicken Tikka Masala with basmati rice and na'an. This version of CTM was slightly different than others in that it had more thyme (I believe). There was more chicken and yams in the sauce than other places I have eaten. The "medium" spice was a good level. The na'an was thin, but tasty. On the night I was here, there was a couple and no one else. Several "to-go" orders where picked up. I think I hit this restaurant on a bad day. I went here for the lunch buffet. I walked in and no one was there to greet me or seat me, so after waiting for a few minutes, I walked up t the bar and was told to sit wherever I wanted. I sat down and started to unroll my linen napkin with silverware, and it was soiled, so I selected another set and went to the buffet. The food was the standard that you would expect to find at an Indian buffet, but they had neglected to turn the burner on under the chicken curry and another chicken dish, so the meats were cold. I reported this to the manager but there was a language barrier so I took him over to the buffet and pointed and said "cold". The waitress came over with water once I had sat down with my first plate of food. I asked for a Coke and some naan. It wasn't included on the buffet, but it was one of the best parts of the meal, when it finally showed up. (If you don't ask, I don't think they will bring it.). The meats were an extreme disappointment. They were cold and there was far more sauce than meat. The tandoori chicken had what appeared to be a bite taken out of it? Namaste India In Arvada.... Came for Dinner with Hubs on Friday August 16th 2013, after running some errands in this part of Neighborhood. Time was about 18:35hrs ish. Right when we enter this establishment, we were seated promptly and given the Menu. At that hour, Man, this establishment is packed to the brim. I whispered to myself, is this a Good Sign? I do hope so... Looking at the Menu, it seems extensive but somehow it does NOT WOW us as much as we want to. Nevertheless, we opt to order these following items : * Lamb Vindaloo (My Order) ($14.95) * Lamb Biryanis (Hubs Order) ($14.95) We shared the following item : * Cheese Naan ($2.95) Hubs opt for Chai ($2.95) as part of his beverages while I just opt for water. Throughout the evening, our server offers several refills for the Chai, which Hubs like it so much coz it reminds him on how I made Chai for Hubs at home. Now, the wait begins. We feel that this establishment was UNDER-STAFF, Means that LED to SLOW SERVICE for the order to be taken or let alone for the food to be served... *SIGH* These were the observation that we made throughout our dinner experience here. Patrons who were there before us, their order TOOK Awhile, let alone ours. After our server took our order, another serve came to bring out the complimentary Papadum and its dipping sauce of Spicy Cilantro Chutney and one Sweet Sauce @ 18:50hrs. Hubs like those Papadum, and he said next time, he wants me to get those Papadum from the Indian Grocery store, so I can fry it at home. Then came Hubs order of Chai @ 18:55hrs. By about 15 minutes or so, Hubs felt like he wanted to just leave this establishment, but I told him NOT to...so we stayed. By 19:21hrs FINALLY our food arrived at our table. The Cheese Naan came out luke warm though I cannot deny Hubs like it. Hubs order of Lamb Biryani and my order of Lamb Vindaloo. I even have to ask for the Raita, that comes with the Biryani order coz our Server forgot about it. Both our order FELL Short in terms of the SPICY Level we have been hoping for, since we SPECIFICALLY Request for our food to be EXTRA EXTRA SPICY. Yes the food is flavorful, but the service was indeed lacking that evening. My order of Lamb Vindaloo, comes with MORE Potatoes rather than the Lamb pieces itself. This I don't fancy coz I am paying to eat Lamb NOT Potatoes, People... *DOUBLE SIGH* Since by at this time, we were indeed STARVING, we just accept our food, and ate it. This place confuses me. Normally when ordering take out you think you're going to get a meal subpar when compared to dining in. But when it comes to Namaste it's the exact opposite. I had ordered delivery from here a few times and was blown away by the food, it quickly became our go to. I love how they clearly list the vegan options on their menu, they have so many options it makes it hard to choose! My go-to order is the Chana Saag (it isn't posted on third party delivery service websites, but if you post it under notes when ordering the dal saag they'll make it for you!) and the gobi masala, and never forget the side of tamarind chutney!! Some non-vegan fan favorites include the chicken momos, the saag paneer, the chicken famous tikka masala, and the rogan Josh. I do have to say their breads are not the best. The naan and paratha lack fluffiness and some of the flavors that Indian breads typical have, but put the food over some of their jasmine rice and you won't even miss the bread! Still an awesome meal always! Everyone I recommend this place to is always just as impressed. However, when dining in we had the opposite experience. First off the staff was un-accommodating and seemed overall uninterested in our being there. The overall restaurant seemed dirty with many tables left unbussed and the counter covered in liquor boxes (even though they were out of every red wine on the menu which was disappointing.) I was truly in disbelief when I ordered the Chana saag and it tasted nothing like what I'd had in the past. It was over salted and burnt tasting and overall bleh. Everyone that I was dining with agreed that their food was not that great and nothing like it typically is. We've ordered out from here a few times since to see if it had just gone downhill and I can say it has not. I've heard from others that they've had the same dine in experience. One thing I will say is that while we were there they were pumping out take out orders. Needless to say the four star review is for their take out service only. The food is delicious and never disappoints. If I had to rate the dine in experience it would likely be a 1-2.
