Even though we ordered medium spicy for everything it felt more like 3.5 out of 10 for the spice level. Service was alright, for a restaurant of this price point felt sufficient. Portion size was a little bit smaller than I would imagine for a restaurant of this caliber. Also, the flavor profile while consistently good, did not taste fresh. Solid Indian food in a reasonable nice Broomfield strip mall. We had a coconut based curry and a vegan curry dish. Both were good. I had spice level 2 (out of 5)...didn't really notice it and I'm pretty weak. She had spice level 4 and loved it, way too hot for me lol. Overall good, fair prices. Worth a look. read more

First time visiting this restaurant and let me tell you, I was not disappointed! Great service! And most of all the food was great! They offered a new item on the menu which was their homemade Pizza offering. Price was reasonable and one honestly the best pizzas I've had in Colorado. Who knew you could go an Indian restaurant and order pizza! They had put their own twist to it and the flavor was on perfect. Would 10/10 come back even if it was just for the pizza. We were in the neighborhood and happens across Zaika. We love the one in downtown Denver, so we thought we'd give it a shot. Unfortunately we arrived just before their restaurant closed after lunch, but they were super friendly and accommodating even though we were "those" guests. The restaurant was spotless! So clean! And clean bathrooms! We ordered lunch specials which come with standard basmati rice and also two pieces of naan. We started with vegetable samosas that came with mint and tamarind chutney. Saag paneer, chicken and lamb vindaloo, and vegetable korma were hot, delicious, and beautiful entrees. For dessert we ordered gulab jamun (little Indian doughnuts soaked in syrup), and rice pudding. The only notch down for us was the level of spices was quite intense for what we're used to in Indian food. A bit too much. I bit into a whole cardamom pod in the vegetable korma, and it was not pleasant. The iced chai was unsweetened, which was fine, but I would have liked to know that ahead of time. Tough to dissolve sugar into cold liquids. Other than that, we appreciated this place and thought it was worth recommending. read more

The butter naan was fluffy as air and so was the kesar khofta, I have never tasted such a melt-in-the -mouth kofta ever in the US. The veg biryani was great, lots of veges , cooked with long grain basmati, but I should remember to order less spicy next time. We had to mix plain rice to make it edible and the raita was just not enough. The starter we chose was gobi Manchurian and that felt like a small portion compared to other restaurants we have had, but the taste was above others too so wont complain about the portion. Its a great Indian restaurant, with great food and ambiance and Basant was extremely polite and ready to make recommendations, or answer questions. He is very proud of his restaurant and that is for a good reason, he takes great care to maintain quality of the food. Choose appropriate spice and u r set. read more

We used to order via GrubHub, however they have since made take out available only via their website, which is inconvenient in some ways. Great little Indian spot. Lunch special for $11 is a great deal! Pick a meat, pick a type of curry, comes with soup/salad, rice, and Naan. Naan was delicious and seemed fresh baked rather than just store bought and reheated. I got the chicken vindaloo and it was great. Spice level 3 was just right, but I do like a good kick when eating Indian and Thai food. This place was clean and the service was great! Zaika has excellent Indian food! I came here right when it opened, so I got seated right away. The service is great and the employees are all very kind and welcoming. They have a TON of options to choose from, so I recommend asking your waiter questions about their recommendations as well! I tried the lamb tikka masala, mango kulfi dessert, and a lychee martini. What a WONDERFUL take-out experience. We had some samosas, their naan bread (yummy) and a couple of chicken and lamb options that were just wonderful. Great Flavor and incredibly savory. Again, it was done via take-out and we drove 20 mins so it sat for 30 mins before eating it and yet it tasted great. I was very excited to try Zaika. It's always tough to find good indian and I'm always on the hunt for those dishes that can tantalize my taste buds. Upon walking into Zaika, I was very pleased with the interior which was a nice change from some dingy places I've been to in the past. We were greeted and seated promptly. Typically, I start by ordering some basic dishes to test the waters then venture out a bit more. We started with some samosas which were pretty solid. Both the red and green sauces served with them were very tasty. For our meal we ordered the chicken tikka masala which I read was a yelp favorite. We also requested the muttar paneer which was not on the menu but they have notes saying they can swap out veges and whatnot so we went for it. The matar paneer arrived and I could immediately tell that we wouldn't be a fan. Typically, this dish is served more in a gravy type sauce but this version was very soupy and had chopped tomatoes throughout. The flavor was okay but the soupiness of the dish just didn't do it for me. The tikka came and it was vibrant in color and looked like it was going to be awesome. Unfortunately, it just wasn't anything special and I've produced similar quality at home. I don't feel like they marinated the chicken long enough as it was lacking flavor. We did have their naan which was by far the best part of the meal and maybe the best looking nann I'd ever seen. My girlfriend doesn't like spicy so we did go with a mild style which shouldn't really impact the deepness in flavor that you look for in good Indian food. I did get a side of their hot sauce which was excellent and had good flavorz. While I'm disappointed, I'm going to give them another shot one of these days. Next time I'll go with medium spicy to see if that gets the food into that deep flavor zone. The folks who worked there were very friendly and accommodating. read more

Fantastic! My family arrived in town off a plane. We went straight to our location where we were staying and ordered food to go. We ordered crab curry which was excellent with the spices and flavor they used! We also had salmon. We were a little hesitant in ordering this to go but again the flavor was on point. My only thing I could say about this was I wanted it. Little more rare, but my wife loved the temp it was cooked. (Flakey) Tika Masala was the other main dish we order. That was so cool it was the first thing we finished. We did order samosas and garlic naan bread. Of course those didn't last. Thank you for a great meal. Great place to dine in, or take out. I usually order take out because it gets quite busy inside the restaurant. They have great Indian dishes at a decent price and excellent customer service. I usually like the way the have a spice scale of 1-5 for the heat. Since everything I order is usually medium like 3-4 depending on the dish or entree. I enjoy the saag, the simosa, tandoori chicken, actually so far everything I've tried there is quite delicious. I also enjoyed their Naan bread, especially their garlic naan. Plus, the location on Nickel street is a couple of miles from home, really nice and convenient for me. If you pickup or takeout from here, please check your order guys. The last time there was a mistake and some food missing from my order. To their defense, since they have excellent customer service they quickly remedied the situation and was very accommodating and apologetic. It was quite busy in the restaurant that night. read more

Stopped in today for lunch. We were a bit surprised the lunch buffet was gone. Replaced instead with an odd lunch menu. Not really much choice for sides or entrees... but being short on time we ended up staying anyway and ordering 3 lunch dishes and 1 appetizer to come up with what we considered lunch. The side salad offered with the lunch is a joke. A saucer with 2 half slices of tomato, a slice of cucumber and a carrot circle on A piece of lettuce with a shot glass of dressing...I shit you not. So absurd I laughed out loud. Then comes a plate with 2 large pieces of nan, a cup of rice and a small bowl of your meat/sauce selection. I chose Lamb Korma. And while the korma sauce was delicious the minimum pieces of lamb were very gristly. Since we do not eat bread or rice and we had to order a 3rd meal just to get some saag paneer and I am sad to say I think we will pass on the place in the future. $53 with tip for lunch for 2 and we are still hungry!!! My thoughts for management ... if you have nixed the buffet for good at least consider expanding your lunch menu with some sides, an actual salad and more meat selections. I have enjoyed your food in the past but I would at least like the option of ordering what I would like. read more

Four of us came here for dinner laSt night. It was a Saturday night around 6:30 and the place was literally empty. We ordered two appetizers. One was a potato/onion fried chickpea coated dish. It was tiny pieces fried. That was ok. Probably the best of the meal. The other appetizer was some filled meat dish that had an awful taste. We decided to share three entrees. Two chicken and one eggplant. The eggplant was inedible. The two chicken were swimming in sauce and literally had about 6 pieces of chicken chunks in it. There was also a small bowl of white rice that was dry. We also order 2 orders of nann bread that was ok. Two beers topped it off. The bill was 80 without a tip. When we left the place was still empty. I personally felt sick from it. We will never go back. I'm not sure how this place has gotten these reviews but I know for sure I cannot count on them.
