    Mango Lassi
    Melanie N.

Food was fresh and full flavored. We got one Butter Chicken and one Lamb Madrass, both came with rice. We got medium spice and it wasn't overbearing or too spicy at all. We also got the Garlic Cheese Naan which was sooo soft! The Mango Lassi was also really good, not too sour. Service was quick, didn't wait for a table on a Friday night. Food came out very quick and were made fresh to order. Ambiance is nice and clean, smells like lots of spices when you walk in, which gets your appetite up! Parking is EXTREMELY difficult though, only 4 spots available in the front...I believe it's just street parking if you aren't able to get a spot.

They have so many options of curries to choose from! Each curry comes with an order of rice. We ordered garlic and cheese naan which tastes so fresh and soft. The rice is a bit plain but goes well with the heavier curries like the Madrass. Curries are packed with flavor and is the perfect take-out meal. The crackers were a good appetizer with the four sauces it came with. The service was fast as the food came out even faster. It's clean inside but not many tables for seating. the parking lot can get pretty crowded.

So, I came here a couple times in the past. It didn't really stand out in my memory (no negative ass associations, but no burning desire to come here again). However, I have been going to the Arvada location quite a bit the last year or so. And since this location is conveniently located just two long blocks away from the Federal Theater, I decided I needed to try it again. It is really good. It is the exact same menu as the Arvada location. The service is very good. Prices are a bit steep, but that is par for the course these days. The food is really well-made, I have not had anything here that I did not think was well prepared. Probably my biggest problem is trying to decide between ordering one of my old favorites or trying something new. Sometimes you get rewarded with something amazing and other times you realize "oh yes, those aren't quite the flavors I was looking for". But, I can definitely recommend this location and we'll be eating here again. Uber convenient to grab dinner here before going to a concert or other show at the Federal Theater.

Pretty solid food, butter chicken and jalfereezi were both solid. Service was decent and ambiance was clean and reasonably well appointed. None of the dishes were amazing but if you're looking for Indian food this place will certainly satisfy the craving for naan or spice. Remember spicy is spicy. They have a pretty extensive menu and the portion sizes are conducive for ordering family style.

Small space inside and limited seating outside. Parking is tight and limited space. We were first in the restaurant. We got water without ice. We have asked twice for the ice, and then we got glass full of ice. It was hard to use it. And we saw the rest of the table got iced water with lime in it. I'm not happy with this cold service. Food came fast. Mango Lassi- 3.5/5 - not too sweet, which I like, but the consistency was not good. Chai old fashion - 2.5/5 Ipa- 4/5 Mushroom Manchurian - 3/5 - Mushroom is cooked nicely, but Gravy is a little sweet and with more artificial color. Malai kofta -5/5 - great curry with taste Dal makhani - 4/5 - nice curry without greasy Laccha paratha - 4/5 - edges were hard to eat, but it was thin Onion kulcha - 4/5

Butter Chicken (Makhani). Our favorite of the night.

Wonderful! We had been to another one of their Spice Rooms in Arvada and it was perfection. I thought I'd show the family this other location, and it was just as delicious! We are now huge fans. We used to love Yak and Yeti, but the quality went down and so we've been on a hunt for a new Indian/Nepalese. This is it. The hunt is over. We love this place, the service, the quality, the ambiance. I'm willing to bet that even though they have several locations, the quality is top notch each time. While the ambiance wasn't as pretty on 38th as it was in Arvada, it still made up for it with the excellent food and service. Glad to have found a new favorite!

The Spice Room did it again-amazing Indian food! We ate way too much went to bed extra full but when the food is that good how do you stop? The chicken Shahenshah is our favorite dish and we always get that with naan and we've started getting the french fries because french fries and curry is just an unbeatable combination. I'm a big fan of their Chana saag and the sag paneer also very good. In fact I've never had a bad meal there. Lately we order all of our spice room online and pick it up and eat it at home and I've been really impressed by their commitment to using sustainable packaging. Everything almost everything that they use is compostable, which is amazing.

Honestly, one of the better Indian restaurants I have ever been to. When you find a restaurant that packs them in and a large menu you know a place has it dialed.

Food: this place is so good! I love their naan so much. They bring out garlic naan and it just envelopes you in all of its garlicky goodness. I got the garlic cheese naan last night and it was phenomenal. My friend got date naan, which is turning into a new craving of mine. The sweet and savory combo is lovely! The chicken Tikka and makhani were both superb! The food came out piping hot. The rice was yummy too. Service: The service was good too. My water glass almost never had the chance to get lower than halfway. We were served within 15 minutes of arriving even though it was Diwali and we didn't have a reservation. (Save yourself the stress and call ahead!) Our server ran a tight ship and got us out of there in less than an hour which was perfect so we could make a movie across town. Ambiance: it's a bustling palace when it's busy. I had only done pick up before and didn't realize it is a pretty small restaurant. It was lively though on a holiday and a Sunday night. It was loud so conversations were a little louder than normal.

The space feels very Root Down in the best way. Funky, artsy, a little mid century, but still comfortable and not trying too hard. Then the food starts showing up and suddenly the whole table is passing plates around because everyone keeps saying "wait, try this." We ordered a bunch of things and the smoked carrots were probably the biggest surprise for me. I would absolutely go back just to eat those again. The masa birria, diver scallops, and grilled artichokes and asparagus were all great too. The hanger steak was cooked perfectly and came with duck fat potatoes, which immediately puts me in a good mood. Dessert also fully delivered. The banana cream pie with black sesame whip was one of those desserts where you keep going back for another bite even when you're already full. It just felt like a really thoughtful meal from start to finish. Definitely one of my favorite dinners I've had in a while.

Really lovely all vegan place that I visited twice while I was in Denver…read more Between my two visits, I got the gnocchi with sweet potato sauce, the Cuban sandwich, ginger beer, and the giant chocolate chip cookie. All of it was really great, but I think the gnocchi was my favorite of the two entrees. The ginger beer is not super gingery, tastes like Fevertree. The chocolate chip cookie with sea salt is an absolute must! It comes wrapped so I took mine back to the hotel to share with my non-veg husband after he got back from his work conference dinners and he said they were the best chocolate chip cookies he'd ever had! Also, I think it's fun that the plates are made to look like wood, but aren't. The first time I came it had been pouring rain, so the restaurant wasn't as full and it was very easy to find an open table, but the second time it was positively packed, and both times were week nights, so I suspect this place is pretty popular with the locals. I like that the ordering is done through QR code and website, since that would make it easy for groups and means you don't have to all know what you want at the same time (or, if dining solo as I was, you don't need to interact as much with staff, which is sometimes a blessing). Several members of the staff wore face masks, which I appreciated, and there were some nice paintings on the walls from local artists for sale. If I am ever in Denver again, I think I would really like to come back here--and I'd definitely get the chocolate chip cookie every time!

You seat yourself and have a choice to order with the QR code or go up to the counter. It being my first time I went up to the counter to get some additional recommendations. I went with the side buffalo cauliflower & the chicken Caesar salad. Both were fresh, had lots of flavor and filling-- highly recommend. When closing out my tab at the counter, I picked up a chocolate chip cookie togo (extra large in size and just the right about of sweetness). With the menu so unique I prefer a little more "hands on service" but the experience was tasty and eager to come back and try other things. Clean, homemade, high quality vegan food with lots of GF options/ substitution-- Highly recommend.

City O City has more of a bar vibe to me than a restaurant vibe, which I hadn't been expecting (and perhaps contributed to the awkwardness I felt, as I have always been a tee-totaler and thus have next to no time spent in bar environments). I was seated relatively close to the bar itself, as well. It was a bit loud for mousy ol' me, but the other patrons seemed to be really enjoying it, so if that's your scene, this place will be great for you! It seemed clean, too, so no sticky bar table problems, and the waitress I interacted with was friendly and helpful. I wanted to try the poutine and the barbacoa mushroom tacos, and decided last minute to try one of the non-alcoholic cocktails, I think it was called something like a sidecar with a number? (I don't know any real drink equivalents and kinda picked at random.) The poutine was decadent and filling, with a pretty good melty vegan cheese curd, and the mushroom tacos were smoky and light. The mocktail was interesting and not sweet (which is what I was looking for), with a pleasant citrus bitterness. Overall definite A+ on the food I had, but I think I would want to come with my husband or friends if I am in the area again, because it does feel a little strange sitting alone in there.
