I have found some treasures at this place but the customer service is terrible. The workers are never helpful and spend more time hanging out and chatting than doing their jobs. The people working there clearly don't know labels. I am always shocked to see target and walmart clothes there. Often these labels are priced the same as the new merchandise in their stores. This store is amazing. They always have wonderful sunglasses, excellent jewelry, shoes, belts, and fun gifts. I find that I can always find great and current tops, pants, dresses, and purses, for way less than buffalo exchange. A top at Buffalo will often be maybe 19-27 and here the same can be found for 4.99 to 11.50. Just an example, but you really can find such current fashions here. This isn't a place to find vintage, it's more current resale items. But believe me they are so cute. read more

Name Brand Exchange is by far the best price for your dollar on consignment Name Brand clothing and accessories. In fact I just went there yesterday and bought a $500 Genuine Coach handbag for $60. I have bought 7 for all Mankind jeans here for $20 and have bought True Religion jeans for $30. And the price that they give you for your used clothing is higher than any of the other name brand consignment shops. Who cares if the store is a little cramped! Save yourself the trouble, don't sell your clothes here. Well, the girls working there were really nice and helpful. So I kinda feel bad for writing this, but it needs to be done. There's no way I would touch this store again with a 10 foot pole. I recently moved out to Mesa from California, and I'm very familiar with this type of store. I worked for one for a while. If you're there to SELL clothes. Just turn around and go to Buffalo or something. They gave me $30 bucks for a collection of brand new Arden B, BCBG, and True Religion clothing. In their world, there was about $200 dollars worth of clothing, the retail value was about $1200. And they paid me 30 bucks. I've sold a single old dress to Buffalo and made twice as much. Which is just ridiculous. I understand that they need to make money, but they are just STEALING money from people. DO NOT sell your clothes to this store if you actually expect something in return. This is a pathetic excuse for a business. I'm not pissed because I think they cheated me, I KNOW they cheated me. The WORST experience ever; I waited over 1 hour and 1/2 and my clothes still didn't get looked at; the uneducated slow as ever buyer told me 10 minutes what a waste of my time she could have been honest and told me that the seller in front of me brought over 100 items to sell no instead she kept telling me another 10 minutes another 20 minutes and then had the nerve to say I could leave my clothes there and come pick them up at 9pm um hello some of us have important jobs to go to in the morning and don't have time for lies; had she just told me the truth and let me know it would probably be hours of a wait time I would have been okay with it but instead my time was wasted, Never shopping here again and my word of mouth will be never go there!!!! Ok, let me start off by saying I have shopped here a few times and found some great deals, and for the shopping experience I would give probably 4 stars. I decided it was time to clean out my closet, and thought it would be a good idea to try to sell some of my stuff to NBE and make a little cash. I gathered a bag of goodies (all being name brand items from Buckle, AE, Hollister, and others) and headed to NBE with about 8 or 9 pairs of jeans, 6 or 7 pairs of shorts, 5 or 6 skirts, a couple shirts, and two purses - a (real) Coach handbag and a Betsey Johnson bag which still had the the $62 tag attached. I was told when I walked in to neatly lay out my items on the buying table, and that I could either have a seat or take a look around while I waited. When she called me back to the front, the girl at the counter said there were 6 items they wanted to buy from me. I asked which items they decided to take, and she told me they would take my coach purse, my Sinful jeans, and a few pairs of my shorts. She also informed me that since it was nearing the end of summer, they had to price the shorts at the stock rate so they would give me a little less for them. I was offered $21 and some change in cash or $30 something in store credit. This was a disappointing number considering I had hoped for $50-75. Anyway, There were a few people waiting behind me in line, so I quickly did a little math in my head and figured about $7-10 for the Coach, $7-10 for the Sinful jeans, and about $2 each for the shorts, since she had said they weren't worth as much this time of year. Trying not to hold up the line, I opted for cash, (even though I felt like the Coach and the Sinful jeans were worth at least $20 each, not to mention the practically brand new Hollister shorts I basically gave away), I quickly signed the form placed in front of me, and gathered my unwanted items from the shelf where they put the duds. I left the store and thought I'd try another clothing exchange store for the rest of my stuff before taking it all to Goodwill. When I got to the other store, I discovered to my surprise that my Betsey Johnson purse was not in my bag of goodies. After I finished the other store, I went back to NBE. I told the girl at the desk that I wasn't aware that they took both purses, and that she had only mentioned the Coach. Both of the girls working looked at me like I was crazy, and the girl I had dealt with earlier lied to defend herself and said that she had told me that they were taking both the Betsey Johnson and the Coach. I politely explained to them that I would not have taken that little of cash for both purses plus the jeans. (Again, basically gave away some Hollister shorts). I politely asked if there was any way I could give them back the money and take back my items, or at least the Betsey, because I felt like I had been ripped off. They said there was nothing they could do, all cash trades are final, and the only way I could get my purse back was to buy it for what they priced it for. I asked how much they priced it for and they told me $18, which is only $3 short of what they gave me for all the stuff they got. So basically they figuratively "bought" my items for approximately the following prices: around $5 for the brand new Betsey (original price tag ATTACHED said $62), around $5 for the Sinful jeans, (which cost around $125 new, worth I'd say at least around $50 gently used), around $5 for the Coach, (which cost $129 new on sale at the outlet, worth at least $50 gently used), and about $5 for the "few pairs of shorts" which probably were worth around $10 each. This amount of money is no where close to $40% of retail, which they supposedly pay customers for items. Given the fact that they priced the Betsey for $18, 40%=$7.20, I know they ripped me off. I was uncomfortable selling even the Coach and the Sinful jeans for that little, but I could live with it. However, I am FURIOUS that they snagged BOTH my purses plus everything else for so little!! I would NOT have accepted this awful deal!!! And I think it's ridiculous that they not only wouldn't allow me to give them their money back in exchange my items, but they wouldn't even attempt to make any sort of fair agreement with me, especially since it was only about an hour prior that I was in there the first time! Not to mention they wouldn't admit that they dishonestly took the Betsey without my knowing! They said I could speak to the manager but she wouldn't be there until tomorrow. I will definitely be giving her a call, there is NO WAY I will sell anything to them again, and I will think twice before shopping there again!! No better than THIEVES!!! RIPOFF ALERT!!! read more

Can I just say that I think in order to work here, you have to be a snob with piercings and bad dyed hair? I may be stereotyping. Actually I am, but when you walk in to one you will see it and be like "yep.. she was right."Its actually not what they look like, its how they treat you, buying or selling- they treat you like your annoying them.. seriously? How hard is it to freaking ring up clothes and smile while you do it. I was absolutely shocked how I was treated. They totally low ball you when you sell them your stuff as well. I sold some items to them today and saw either 14 bucks in store credit, or 12.40 in cash. I told them I would take cash and she handed me a 10.40, when I know for a fact I saw 12.40. I told her that she only handed me 10.40 and she owed me 2 more dollars and she repeated "It was 10 dollars and 40 cents cash" like I was hard of hearing. Everyone stared at me in the store and I just left. This place is soooo unorganized, the employees are very unhelpful and it's in a sketchy area of town... but they do have great stuff. They have tons of designer jeans for $5-$10 and designer bags for cheap as well. There are a lot of shoes but sometimes it is hard to find a match and one thing they have that other places don't is cosmetics and random things like that. I was able to buy a few true religion jeans for only $30 so I think it's worth it to come here if you have an hour or two to spend rifling through the chaos. read more

Let me start by saying that I love stores LIKE this. I like Buffalo exchange and love Last Chance. I can't stand this place. I once came here when I was going to donate old clothes to goodwill and someone told me to set aside any of my clothes from my Hollister and Abercrombie phase and try to sell them here. I thought, "I don't know, they're kinda outdated. I'll check it out." I walked in and the first thing I noticed was the weird odor. Unexplainable, just...weird. Next I noticed the mess on the floor that was being ignored by the angry looking teenager with a nametag. The music was a weird mashup of irritating Screamo and pop. I decided to look around before trying to sell my clothes. I browed through some stained Target shirts marked for $12, hmmm last time I checked, Xhiliration isn't very high end but whatever, neither is Hollister. Which might I add is basically all they had. Hollister tube tops from 7 years ago. $15 Gross and faded Hollister jeans $20 Giant faux fur Hollister Jackets $20 I felt like I was trapped in the closet of a crazy angry grungy girl who had a secret obsession with Hollister. I quickly decided that I didn't want to buy anything, but it was good that they were so obsessed with really old Hollister clothes because I had a bag full of it. Absolutely awful.One visit was enough! One register, line took forever. And only because one couple bought several hundred dollars in goods and spent the entire time asking how they could return everything. One girl, who was so new she had to step out at the time of final charging, handling the sale while 3 women folded new clothes coming in. Obviously an inadequate use of their time. And one employee Vanessa, had an absolute horrible attitude. I love Name Brand I buy almost all of my clothes there. I am excited they are remodeling. I've been pretty disappointed the past three times I've gone. Twice at this location and one at the other. I spend at least 20-30 minutes waiting in line. With at least ten people in line why is there only one cashier? I don't know.. today I actually didn't sell but I wanted to buy and I ended up leaving and not buy anything this happened at the Val vista location recently too. I felt so bad for the girls working, they looked stressed and you know on a Saturday they should have enough help. It's a busy shopping day. Whoever is running this show needs to reconsider more than 2 workers on a Saturday at both locations. I'm bummed I really wanted to buy the clothes that I left there, but I don't have the time to wait for 30 minutes in line I will still shop here, just thought I'd share my two sense and see if it makes a difference. read more

This place is great and they have lots of selection. I find it is better priced than buffalo exchange and even goodwill! Goodwill clothes are quite expensive unless it's 50% off day. With that said, I feel every time I go to Name Brand the prices are higher each time. That is why I give it 4 stars. The Dobson and Southern is my favorite selection and they do buy back lots of items if you were wondering. read more

I took my son in this afternoon to get something to wear to a wedding that isn't going to be too dressy. All clothes were in excellent condition and reasonably priced. The sales girls were helpful. This name brand exchange sucks and the employees are so beyond rude. Just let here after carrying in TONS of clothes bcuz I used to sell on ebay but just moved into an apartment and just don't have the room anymore so I'm going to get a regular job and so anyways I had over like 200 clothing items it probably took about an hour or more to bring it all in and lay it all out and it was ALL nice stuff like stuff I could make decent money on on eBay even and they end up telling me after an hour they can only take three things and the girls were super super super rude about it and I had asked them why and the rude ass girl said they want shirts w logos on it and they don't take plain shirts anymore even though I did not bring ONE plain shirt in and so I was like and the pants? And she told me only skinny jeans? Okay well I only really brought in comfy athletic wear pants so please explain why she told me that? Anyways I asked her why not the Victoria Secret boyfriend pants which were all like brand new and she told me well bcuz they are not selling well in the summer? BINGO that's all she had to say to me but really she couldn't have told me that the hour I spent carrying everything in and laying it all out she completely saw that I had like all pants... she was so unbelievably rude and made this such a waste of my time on MOTHERS day even that I will never ever be back and I will make sure I tell everyone I know to stay away from this place too bcuz that was so unbelievable for a store to do something like that and of all days- Mother's Day!!!! I love this place, great selection and great prices, the perfect thrift shop experience. Also, it's CLEAN here. I can rarely leave this place without finding something I like - I guess take that as a warning, if you go in expect to buy at least one thing - well you should anyway why would you go in and not buy anything? That's the problem with today's mall-culture consumers. Not wanting to spend any money, just wanting to hang out in the free A/C and waste a shop's time and energy on trying to help you. My theory is - if you don't expect to buy something, don't walk in. It's rude. I went into name brand exchange on Sunday, May 31st, to exchange my clothes. I came in with a whole bag full of clothes, brands like Hollister, American eagle, and banana republic; a bunch of pants, shorts. I waited for one of the girls to look over my clothes, she spent about a minute looking over the pile of items while she stood there and talked and laughed with another girl behind the counter completely distracted and not paying attention to her actual job. After hardly even looking at the items I had, she told me she could not take any. Compared to the items they have in this store it looks like they take just about ANYTHING, and as for "name brand" the brands I brought in were the same types you see in this store. However, what you find on the racks is far from name brand most of the time, appeared to be mostly forever 21, and target clothing. It's pretty upsetting that girls who aren't paying the smallest bit of attention to their job are the ones looking at clothing brought in. If they actually did their job and stopped screwing around the merchandise might actually be something worth spending time to look through. The staff here has never been too great, but within the last year or so has gone downhill at both stores. They are all rude and very unprofessional; you would think the owner would step in after seeing that the large majority of reviews I've read all say the same thing about horrible staff. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR REVIEWS; your customers are trying to tell you something. This store needs an overhaul, new staff, new merchandise, a good cleaning and remodel!!!! read more

I have always found something cute, stylish, interesting, and cheap to wear from Name Brand exchange which is unfortunate for me really.. Reading these other reviews about opinions on Name Band kind of releaves me. You see, I had thought that I was alone in dealing with the poor customer services at Name Brand. The women who work there have always had poor attitudes towards me. One time they had given me a check for my clothing items that i had exchanged. I took it to a few banks, the check bounced, and I recieved a call back 30 minutes after I had left Name Brand from the employee who had given me the check stating that she had given me the wrong check. About 2 months later the same thing happend to a male friend of mine. They really need to get their sh** in check. The owner needs to stop hiring workers who don't really care about their jobs, know what they are doing, don't care about the the customers, or the business in general. When an employee is rude to a customer, or if there is poor customer service within any business, that company automatically loses 10% of potential customers with every one customer that has had the bad experience. Bad news travels a lot faster than good news. In my honest opinion these employees that show horrible customer service, and lack of interests in both their jobs and the company itself should be fired on the spot. No warnings. Because of the poor customer service that I have experienced every 13 times that I have gone into Name Brand, I refuse to shop their again.
