Fresh, fast delicious with friendly staff. We had katsu chicken, a crunchy shrimp roll and the Godzilla roll. All exceeded expectations.

Sushi is solid. Service wasn't the best once we got the sushi, though. They brought us tea to drink but we never got any refills despite drinking it all (plus water we asked for). Everyone was friendly that we encountered, though. Small-ish place with lots to choose from on the menu. We were maybe the only pair in there eating, but a few came in to get takeout. I would rate this restaurant a 4 star. Not "the best" sushi we have had but certainly very good. Their selection of nigiri was somewhat limited compared to other places we have eaten. Very nice servers, food came out quickly, very good flavor, presented nicely and the price matched what was served. My wife and I will be back. read more

I'm not a connoisseur of sushi, but we enjoyed this meal. We had the party platter B. It's a good assortment of their variety. I liked the seared tuna and we all enjoyed the popping caviar. We weren't especially hungry, so we had a little leftover. The staff and the ambience were classy, and the restaurant was clean. My wife very much enjoyed the unique flavor of the tea. We had an early dinner on a Saturday night. The service was excellent and food arrived quickly. One of the dishes we ordered was tuna sashimi- the pieces were large, as tender as butter and absolutely delicious. Everything we had was beautifully prepared, with ample wasabi and ginger. The restaurant is clean and nicely appointed. Bathrooms are modern and clean. They do a significant take out business but it didn't take away from their attention to diners. Really great service, food is alright. Sashimi is massive and too thick. Very stringy, I couldn't bite through the strings of the salmon. Teriyaki was too sweet, wasabi mayo shrimp was too sweet. I really loved their tuna tataki roll, so refreshing and delicious. You have to also try their aburi sushi and oshi sushi. This is THE best sushi restaurant in the lower mainland, tied with Ichiro in Steveston! My wife and I had a Nami Roll! OMG delicious. Then Tuni Oshi was unbelievable! Both had so much flavor. Shrimp Tempura is a cliché of course, but we had it anyway. And chicken karaage was very good. Crunchy outside tender inside. Moist. Small pieces easy to eat. And pork gyoza. My wife is from Japan and I lived there for two years. We naturally love authentic Japanese food. Nami Sushi is a great place to get great, authentic Japanese cuisine with some dishes featuring a Western twist. read more

Excellent. Finally found a place with sunomono salad to rival traditional restaurants. And yet they are putting a modern twist on Edamame with multiple choices of sauces. We really enjoyed the garlic butter option. Between the 4 of us we sampled a lot of the menu and found the food to be tasty and the sashimi to be delicate. The service was very pleasant. I won't be going back. The former Two Guys at this location was great but things have changed. The prices are up about 20% (no surprise) but the bad part is that the place is just not worth bothering with. I ordered Sunumono with 'real crab'. Sure, real - real canned snow crab that of course was tasteless and had the texture of cardboard. I asked for Sashimi MaguroTuna. They brought Albacore and explained when I drew this to their attention that they didn't have Maguro (red) tuna. Simple as that. Take it or leave it. It was sliced into huge, thick pieces that I would have breaded and fried in a pan if I was at home. Clearly, the chef has no idea how to present sashimi or probably just couldn't care less. It wasn't even good fresh tuna. Don't bother with this place if you have any experience with properly prepared Japanese food. I was treating guests and the waitress presented the bill by announcing the amount at table side. Simply embarrassing. read more

The venue was clean and simple, although small, and the service was truly excellent. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre and not high quality. Almost all of the food was non authentic, out of balance, and disappointing. It wasn't very expensive, but unfortunately it was sub standard and not enjoyable. The fish in the sushi case near the front was poorly organized and not visually attractive. It figuratively shouted at me don't order sushi here. There isn't a real traditional sushi counter either. It looks more like stools facing an elevated refrigerator case not much better than sitting facing a wall in a hotdog stand. There seemed to be no interaction with the chefs and no visual transparency how they are making the sushi in their small boxed in area. They only had the cheaper dark meat for the chicken teriyaki, and no white meat chicken breast available. I won't go play by play on what was wrong with all the other dishes, as it would take too long. Lets just say several dishes tasted like cheap wholesale preprocessed food still not cooked correctly. Maybe the salad was the only item I enjoyed a little but it was a little bitter and not balanced either. Even the tea lacked flavor and was low quality. Bummer, as all the servers were wonderful, and I really wanted to like it. The restaurant mgt had class and did not charge me for one of my very disappointing dishes, so I feel I need to give at least 2 stars even though the food was 1.5 stars for me. I wonder if some of the others that gave higher initial reviews may be friends, eat the many maki concoctions, and/or don't know or expect excellent sushi and Japanese food. The early high star rating for this restaurant was very misleading. read more
