Some of the freshest sushi I have ever tasted. They also have great prices. I really enjoyed their toro.

For me this place is my go to whenever i crave sushi and i am alone( many of friends are not sushi fans so i end up delighting myself alone) They have very clean and comfortable seating and not so packed as most of the food is taken out. Apart for regular sushi rolls , bento boxes and chinese food , there is ramen as well. I will be honest that ramen noodle is not that great but everything else is top notch. A glowing recommendation enticed us to call and place an order for sushi at this establishment. A small restaurant nestled in the strip mall, there was more than ample parking at the front door when we showed up, thanks to COVID-19. Upon entering, the restaurant had been reconfigured as much as possible...chairs and tables pushed out of the way, and easy to see markers to help the few groups there maintain appropriate distance. While we waited, the phone rang almost non-stop, which gave me some hope for their business in these tough times. In addition to ordering what I consider staple rolls (salmon, tuna, BC) we branched out into the specialties. The Crazy Girl Roll was a must recommendation, and I was not disappointed! The rolls were still warm by the time we arrived home, which enhanced the gooey cream cheese goodness. It sounds like a clash (cream cheese in sushi, really?) but trust me, the taste is more than worth it. Another solid choice was the French Kiss Roll (admittedly chosen because of the name) which just happened to be another cream cheese choice. Food wise, it was delicious. The rolls did not have any one sauce or filling be overpowering, the rice was the right firmness. Everything was crisp and clean. We received plenty of soy sauce packets and chopsticks to take home with us. What I did appreciate the most were the chefs: they worked at full speed while we were there waiting for our orders. If I had one tiny recommendation (besides the recommendation for myself to take food pictures next time): everyone was so busy the guy nearly forgot to take the payment for our order and the order for the lady who picked up ahead of us. Please, remember to take our payment after you have worked so hard to make us the delicious food! You certainly deserve it. read more

Went back after years of not going, and I see a sign that says new management. Figure recipies should be the same and for the most part that's true. But what has plummeted is the size of rolls. I ordered California and a salmon avacado roll, and when they arrived I was insulted. Most sushi joints will make large rolls and cut off the pinched tips, because there is very little rice and fillings at either end. This way you get 8 full sized quality rolls. They barely did so here. They served the two pinched ends -barely rolls- and they counted that as a full sized roll. Not good value for your money, and insulting to think their customers would not find that a careless swindle of their money. read more

Great service! There are bigger portions than what I was expecting and the price is great! I would go out of my way to come here again.

It's a rare weekend that we spend in Vancouver and don't grab some sushi. But this Valentine's Day weekend we didn't quite make it to our usual spot in the city so we sought some out on the way back through Surrey, ending up at Yamako on a rainy Monday afternoon. This is a tiny spot in a busy strip mall, but parking was plentiful and there was plenty of seating when we arrived. The service was prompt and pleasant, and the fish was fresh (though a couple of pieces still felt a little frozen). Prices were higher than in the city - it was almost $50 for a small meal for the three of us (and we didn't order beverages). The best part of the meal was the miso soup, which was salty and delicious; the rest was pretty unremarkable (but maybe I'm spoiled). read more

Great new sushi restaurant at the Peninsula Plaza in South Surrey. I had the California combo and my partner ordered the special choosing 3 items including chicken teriyaki, tuna sashimi and California roll. All was very tasty! Best I've had since moving to White Rock last year! read more

Great, better than before. My teacup was never empty. I clumsily dropped my napkin and before I could even scoop it off the floor, the waitress had replaced it. Then, awkward as always, my chopsticks hit the floor. Once again a new set was in my hands in seconds! So fast, so gracious, so kind, and so friendly! My nigiri was wonderful as always and while the miso was a little off this time (mostly broth) it was still delicious. I ended up liking my husbands roll more than mine, so next time I am ordering that! I snuck a peek at the bento boxes at a neighboring table and they looked lovely. Maybe next time! We will be back many more times. We come up from Birch Bay and it only takes us 15-20 minutes. read more

We have had take out as well as dine in here. The service was excellent. The food was great. I highly recommend this restaurant. Loved the Gomae Maki and Chicken Karaage. I was out in White Rock visiting Granny, so my aunt, cousin & I decided to go to this place. The only problem was the wait. It took them almost 8 mins. to get us tea and menu's! And I hate having to ask for water, it should be standard.. The sushi combo I had was pretty good, nothing wrong with the food at all. I, of course being a Vancouver sushi snob can get better sushi out there. So this is good for WhiteRock/Surrey/Whatever sushi. read more

Defiantly in the top two sushi Restaurants in South Surrey/White Rock area for quality and bang for your buck and I have eaten at the the 5 main sushi restaurants in the area. Keep in mind I always take out and do not dine in. The place is small and the staff are friendly. The reason why I have this 5 stars is because I find most of the sushi places in the South Surrey area way over priced and average quality for what you get. Don't let the fact it is in a small plaza scare you off. The food is good, fresh and consistent but it is more if a take out place. The only complaint is that I couldn't find a menu online. read more

The octopus felt a bit frosty, but others said it was okay (might have just been me) Also got FANCY ROLL and GREEN MTN ROLL, and they're pretty good. The Green Mtn came with a salad around the roll so it was nice. Very QUIET place, but the food is above AVERAGE. Service is okay too. They come check SOMETIMES. it's better than some Japanese places around town. I think they're mostly known for take-outs since most visitors asked for it when I stayed. Sushi was very well prepared, we had the spicy salmon roll and the tempura yam roll. Can't say anything bad about it. Hubby also had seafood udon which he said was probably the best he's had in Vancouver. The broth was flavorful and they didn't skimp on the seagood. I had the veggie udon which was also very nice. We shared an order of veggie spring rolls which surprised us by how good they were. Service was okay, we walked in during their lunch hour rush but considering that there was only one person taking orders, I can't complain. Bad experience I ordered a bento box and my chicken teriyaki was cold In the middle, I complained and they took it to the back and immediately brought out the platter and told me to eat around the rest of the food while they made me more, how gross the thought of someone potentially sticking their finger to check temperature then bringing it out and saying keep the rest of the food we will bring you more YUK!!! the chicken they brought out the second time tasted microwaved it was steaming in the middle and anyone would know that it was microwaved!!!!! The food is average. I've had better sushi. I got the cucumber roll and the salmon roll. Unfortunately they were both pretty dry. However the flavours themselves were still good. The miso soup and green tea (couldn't figure out what kind - not toasty enough to be genmaicha but close) were delicious. Everything was prettily presented. read more

I went to this place after reading other great reviews. Was looking for a good bowl of ramen. What a massive disappointment. What I got I quickly recognized as the packaged stuff with the wavy noodles and the seasoning packet that I could have bought for fifty cents and cooked up myself. I could not believe it.
