    jerk chicken over rice
    Brian S.

surprisingly good jerk chicken over rice but kinda expensive. i dont think it was good enough that i would crave it but might come back once in a while. inside is clean and pretty large which is surprising since theres no seating.

    Food: MIX OVER RICE

I ordered take out from here after seeing an Instagram post about the restaurant and food. Overall, the food was average at best. Even the jerk chicken which I had high hopes for was not up to expectations. The zinger sandwich which came highly recommended was also very dry. I wish I had a better experience, but really can't go higher than 3/5. That being said, you should definitely give them a try and see if your experience is any better! FYI: There is also no seating inside.

Service was great here. I wanted to try so much more then what I ordered. I'll be sure to check this place out again when I'm back in the neighbor hood. Food was great!

Been seeing Instagram adds for the place so definitely wanted to try. Came late but the place was clean and fresh. The staff was kind courteous and very informative of the menu and what they are serving. I had the chicken gyro it was so damn good. Love all the different sauces to choose from. Definitely coming back this ishhh it goood!!

Food was okay but not worth $14 for a chicken over rice ... needed extra sauce cause otherwise flavor was underwhelming

2nd visit Food: i said I was going to do it. I did. I ordered the fully loaded jerk fries with mac n cheese and pico de gallo with jalapeños. This is not a meal for mere mortals...this is all you need on a Sunday to watch sports and have drinks after a long stressful work week. If you on Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers, please don't buy this. You don't have enough points for the month. If you are like me who tries to eat super clean throughout the week and have a cheat day, this is the cheat meal. The jerk chicken is juicy. The flavors are on point. The mac n cheese and sauce..forget about it. Time stops and you hit bliss. After eating this, I didn't have to eat anything else for the whole day. It's a five. I had such a good meal the first time, my gluttony kicked in. I ordered a 15 piece hot wing combo with fries, two extra order of fries, and a salmon salad. You have to balance out the meal with a salad. There was no diet coke lol. I couldn't even eat it. My wife got it and couldn't even finish it. She said the same thing as me, it is a great salad with great ingredients. That's going to be my steady meal here. It's tasty and healthy. The hot wings have great flavor and enough spice. My kids who are 12, 10, and 4 ate them and devoured the fries. After a few, the heat did catch up to them but they did enjoy them. Again, I can see me ordering these on a game day without a doubt. Overall a solid spot for pick up. Flavor profile is on point and food is well seasoned. Come by and show these people love. As the great saying goes "Food is symbolic of love when words are inadequate." The owners are trying to show love through food, so let's support them. Ambiance: I decided to take pics of the other side of the wall. There is another mural with great phrases for inspiration. The place is clean and looks nice. You have access to watch them cook. Place is well kept. Hi

    Grilled chicken salad

I ordered the grilled chicken salad. It came out dry and the chicken was burnt and overcooked.

I tried the loaded fries with jerk chicken. It was so delicious. I had it with white sauce and the orange spicy sauce on the side. They definitely marinate their chicken because every bite was so flavorful. It was 11$ and change and loaded enough to share; I couldn't eat it all. Will definitely come back and try something else. The customer service was great, everyone very friendly and kind with a smile. Check them out people.

Rather than immediately posting a public review, I contacted management privately because I believed they deserved the opportunity to address the situation professionaly. Their initial response was that they would review the incident internally. After I followed up, they specifically offered to send me a complete ingredient list for everything we ordered so I could review it with my healthcare provider. I accepted that offer but, the ingredient list was never sent. Months later, there has still been no meaningful follow-up. My frustration isn't about demanding compensation or proving what caused the reaction. It's about customer care and accountability. Making promises that are never fulfilled leaves the impression that guest concerns only matter until the bill is paid. Once our $471 tab was settled, the commitment to help simply disappeared. The food and atmosphere may attract people, but how a restaurant responds when something goes wrong is what defines its hospitality. Unfortunately, based on my experience, the follow-through did not match the promises made, and I can't recommend a restaurant that handled a serious guest safety concern this way. Its NYC, 1000s of restaurants will charge less serve higher quality ingredients and treat you with greater hospitality, and this place is located in midtown east.

The two times I've been in, they've brought out samples of thier menu items to try. I've ordered various things on the menu: hummus, lebneh, falafel wraps, falafel platters, baked kibbe platters, the green bean side, etc. All have been amongst the best Lebanese food I've tried. I want to expand and try more things, like the chicken and beef kafta. If you have questions just ask. Certain platters come with different items. Some rice, some salad, etc. Thier pita is fresh and delicious, and comes in different sizes. They have a decent sized dining area for dine-in, and the take-out area is right as you walk in the side door. Here you will also find a grocery area with Lebanese essentials. The selection is sizable, and offers items you won't find in a regular grocery store. I stocked up on spices, and coffee. Prices are reasonable, and portions are generous. I will return every opportunity I get.

Çka Ka Qëllu has been on my radar for a while now. I first heard about it several years ago when…read morethey first opened in the Arthur Ave neighborhood - standing out as a traditional Albanian restaurant amongst the sea of Italian eateries. Fast forward to the present day, and they have gained considerable attention. The restaurant has made the NYT's Top 100 Restaurants in NYC list for the past 4 years, they have expanded to two (soon three) other locations, and is a favorite among the social media and celeb crowd (this is allegedly one of Dua Lipa's favorite restaurants in the city). That being said, we thought it would be a great spot to celebrate a family member's birthday - so I booked a table and off we went. Çka Ka Qëllu is located on Hughes adjacent to the back entrance of the Arthur Ave Retail Market. The restaurant is gorgeous - it's pretty spacious with three main dining rooms. The decor is a showstopper in itself - the exposed stone walls coupled with the abundance of artwork and old world accents placed throughout the dining area make this seem more like a museum than a restaurant. The ethnic music that is piped throughout the restaurant completes the feel. I honestly couldn't stop looking around. There menu is pretty expansive - most of the items I had not heard of before, but it's also approachable as they spell it out for you in the description what each dish is. We were a party of seven, so to make things easy we aligned to share everything. My brother and I decided to take lead and order items from each section. We decided to start with the ajvar, sausage dip, and tarator. These were all delicious; essentially dips, they all had great flavor and were paired with hot crusty bread mmmm. We then got a bunch of other dishes: leçenik, burek, fili, fasule with smoked meat, mantia, mazë e zier, and a shop salad. As with the dips, everything here was delicious. It's hard to pick the standouts because everything was so good - honest food, full of flavor and depth. Okay you twisted my arm - if I had to choose, my favorites were the burek and the mazë e zier. I love a good burek, and this one was top drawer. The pull on the mazë e zier was out of this world, yet it was easy to maneuver with great flavor. We ended the meal with one of their grilled dishes - namely the mixed meat combo. We chose five meats and they paired them with some vegetables and potato. At risk of sounding like a broken record - this was delicious as well. Service was awesome - everyone was welcoming and the food came out at a good pace. Overall, Çka Ka Qëllu is an absolute yes - the food, the decor, and the service were all aces. The hype is real and they deserve all the accolades they have received. Goes without saying, but I would definitely return for another meal - take me back now!

It came with brine-y olives, a dry seasoning that I assume is za'atar, and olive oil. Our drinks were refreshing. When we arrived it was empty however by the time we finished, there were many tables filled. The bad thing is that there was only 1 server during brunch. It took forever to get our check and even a to-go bag for our leftovers. We ordered for apps, the grand mezze dish with all of the different spreads, such as hummus, red pepper, tzatziki, eggplant, wow! It was delicious and to top it off they have homemade pita bread! Which was a huge highlight! Even my baby loved their homemade pita bread! For our mains, we ordered branzino, which was such a small sad piece, literally just half of a filet. Would never order again. We also got the mixed meats which came with kafta, lamb, chicken a few pieces of each, and also this was so sad, the pieces were SO small. And we also got this Fattat Jaj (which is a 6 layer dish with chicken, rice chickpeas). Honestly all of the mains were such a disappointment. Full of rice, not a lot of meat in any of the dishes. Especially the Fattat Jaj, which literally was just rice with a bunch of small crispy pita bread, barely had any chicken. While we really enjoyed the mezze platter, especially the homemade pita bread, all of the mains were SO small and terrible. Full of rice and salad and barely any meats (despite we ordered all meat and fish dishes). Sad portions. Would not return.
