But that came to an end when I was moving my family and I across states. When I got here, I knew I needed to move my info over to an office here. I was looking at reviews and found Carrie Welch's office. Let me tell you, I am so thankful to find her office. An unfortunate incident ( this is my 2nd claim with them, I'ved had some bad luck lately....) had happened to me on Saturday night, I am even too ashamed to publicly say what happened. Let alone have to call insurance to explain what happened to see if I'm even covered. So I called and spoke to Dominique. Dominique was very understanding, kind and professional about my situation. Told me not to worry about it, gave me a little pep talk, and to stop beating myself up over this incident. His kind and great attitude kept my hopes up. He expressed to me that It's a big oops, but not to worry that he will get working on it. He called me back and assured me that my incident was covered. Let me tell you, I was ecstatic about the news! It was like a massive weight was lifted off my chest and I could breathe again, not to mention that the sick to my stomach knot in my stomach subsided. Throughout the whole process, Dominique has been very attentive with follow-ups and communicative. I am lucky and thankful to have Carrie Welch's Office, Team, and Dominique on my side. Office manager?) told me Skyler would be calling me that day. Spoiler alert: he didn't. I called back again on May 30 and finally got Skyler on the phone. He apologized, said he'd have my quotes to me by end of day. Guess what? Still nothing. No call, no text, no email--just an impressively consistent lack of follow-through. If you're hoping for a quick, professional response or even the basic courtesy of a returned call, this agency may not be your best bet. Here is why: The only time we heard from Karen's office is around our birthdays each year trying to sell us life insurance (which we keep telling them we already have through our employers). Every time I have had to call or visit her office her staff has been rude and unhelpful. But here is the worst part... back in 2008, we moved across town and wanted to change State Farm agents, Karen refused to let us switch. Again in 2013, still dissatisfied with her service we again tried to switch to another agent and insisted on trying to talk me out of it over the phone. When I was not convinced she insisted my wife would also have to call and tell her to her face that she wanted to switch agents. My wife hates dealing with crap like this, so we were again stuck with Karen. The final straw was in April 2015. When faced with a major issue related to our auto policy, we contacted our agent (as instructed by customer service) and she was completely unhelpful and downright nasty to me. Agents are supposed to advocate for their clients, but you will not get that from Karen's office. Both my wife and I grew up with parents with State Farm for 20+ years. We have had State Farm together since we have been out of College. Because of the fantastic job the corporate office did to resolve our recent issue, we will be staying with State Farm, but with another agent.
