The Doctor was so sweet, patient and thoroughly examined my little one's eyes. I was impressed with her skills and attention to detail. The office was super clean and modern. Parking was easy and free which is always nice. My daughter left picking up the cutest little Ray bands for her first pair of prescription glasses. Will be ready for pick up in about 10 days, so my girlie will have new clearer vision soon. Staff was also super helpful and courteous during our appointment. Highly recommend checking them out.

My wife and my son came here for their appointments. Dr. Leung was very kind and gave my wife tips on how to take care of her eyes. The receptionist, Ruth was very patient and nice. She explained the insurance deductibles for different selections of the frames and types of lenses that they offered. We were told that the glasses will be ready in about two to three weeks. However, to our surprise that the glasses were ready in one week. We had a pleasant experience with Dr. Leung and Ruth. We really liked how Ruth was upfront with all the deductibles and prices. My wife and son will be coming here for their glasses from now on.

The glowing reviews led me here and I can happily confirm that they're all spot on! I was able to book an appointment for a standard eye check-up quickly, and as a first time patient, I felt welcomed the moment I walked in. The team was friendly, efficient, and made the whole process easy. Dr. Torio was amazing - incredibly kind, super knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all of my (many) questions. He explained each step of the exam in a clear, reassuring way and he made sure to perform a very thorough eye exam. I felt very comfortable the entire time. Safe to say, I'll be coming back here for all future check-ups!

The main reason I stayed was because the doctor seems knowledgeable with hard lenses, which is not very common. Unfortunately, my last visit changed my opinion. I was given contacts that I literally could not see out of. When I went back, the doctor insisted my vision must have changed within a month of the prescription, which felt unrealistic and dismissive. The way the situation was explained to me came across as condescending rather than collaborative. If I hadn't firmly advocated for myself, I don't believe I would have received a refund. Even after that, I had to go through a frustrating insurance ordeal to reverse the claim, which took time and effort that should've been necessary. Because of this experience, I can't recommend this office. I ended up switching to the independent optometrist at the Costco HIckey location and have been pleasantly surpised by the professionalism and advanced technology there - I highly recommend them.

But I decided to come anyway because they had appointments available and I needed to spend my VSP before year's end. They must have gotten new staff (again), because my experience was excellent. Kim at the front desk was nice and helpful, Sarah the optician was patient and thorough, and Dr. Lam was super efficient in honing in on my exact prescription. I highly recommend the Peninsula Family Optometric Group.

I've been seeing Dr. Aller for over 20 years, and he's always been exceptional. Unfortunately,…read moresince the practice was sold, the experience has become absolutely abysmal. Getting in touch with a real person is nearly impossible -- and when the call does go through, someone often cuts the line immediately. I had my annual exam in March for medically necessary contact lenses. It's now the end of April, and I still have nothing. They took my payment and all my information, but there's been no follow-up. To make matters worse, I received a call last week asking me to schedule my annual eye exam -- the one I already had. I called again, got through after 3 attempts and learned that they had no record or clue about my contacts. They offered to rush-ship my lenses via 2-day shipping, which raised red flags since my lenses are made to order due to my eye condition and have always taken at least 10 days. When I asked which contacts they were referring to, they named a brand I hadn't worn in nearly 15 years! As much as I've appreciated Dr. Aller over the years, I won't be returning. This new management is completely disorganized and unreliable. Do no trust your eye care here. Be warned: STAY AWAY.

We've come here a few times over the years and have always had a positive experience. You generally…read moreneed to make an appointment, though I believe they do walk-ups if they have availability. This is an "Independent Doctor of Optometry", that happens to be located inside Costco. They charge $90 for an eyeglasses exam, and $120 for the glasses and contacts. Some insurances cover eye care, though the pricing seems reasonable even if paying out-of-pocket. Even with insurance, there may be a co-pay, specifically for contacts. There is also an additional option that can be done during your exam, which is called "optomap". The optomap is basically an ultra-widefield image of your retina that they use to help detect eye and other diseases. It costs $60, and is NOT covered by insurance. We did them during our last visit in April 2023, as it was the first we had heard about it. We were undecided if we wanted to do it again during our recent visit, though they mentioned we could do our normal exam and see if the doctor recommends it based on the results. Once you check-in and are ready, the whole process is pretty quick and painless (literally and figuratively). They ask you to wear a mask (provided) as you approach the first machine in the main room. You line your head and chin up to the machine and look normally. There is an image that is initially blurry, then adjusts to be clear based on how your eye sees it. After that, they blow small puffs of air into each eye; this is my least favorite part. This whole process only takes a few minutes, then they call you into the room to chat with the actual doctor. This is where they sit you in the more official chair and slide over the bigger machine. They show you a line of letters and ask you the ever-famous "better 1 or better 2". After that they see if you can read the line of letters, similar to at the DMV. This is how they determine your prescription. I had to pull my mask down for this as the lens kept getting fogged up. The last step is looking into your eyes with a light and what looks to be some sort of magnifying machine. After all was said and done, she determined that my prescription had not changed from my last visit nearly two years ago. She also said everything looked good and healthy, meaning I did not need to do the optomap this time around. Overall I definitely recommend this Costco optometry location. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and everything was efficient and seamless. We checked in a little early, and I was finished before the actual time of my scheduled appointment. My partner was with the doctor for a bit longer, as she also has contacts. Once you're done and have your prescription, there is a huge area right next door with hundreds of glasses to browse. Thanks again, see you in a couple years!
