Friendly diner vibes I took my son here for a fun treat and we had a great time. The restaurant is an old fashioned diner with counter stools and booths. Lots of 50s decor from cars to Betty boop. The menu has a large selection of breakfast and lunch options. Plus a kids menu. My son ordered the kids French toast and sausage. It was a huge portion. Did someone say "diner?" I was looking for a cozy little breakfast spot on my way to Avon area. Of course Yelp lead me to Nancy's. From the time we parked I could tell we picked a great spot for breakfast. We were seated immediately, and there were several guests inside the restaurant. Service was quick and friendly. Some featured items are they make their own fresh bread. And I will say it was fantastic. I chose one of their breakfast skillets that the waitress recommended and it was phenomenal. My wife had a pancake that was bigger than 12 inches diameter. Also scrambled eggs and crispy bacon. Everything was absolutely wonderful. The decor is old school diner with photos of old cars, James Dean, and other items from that era. I would highly recommend and I will be back when I'm in this area. read more

I have to be honest, food is delicious. Place looks amazing. But they do have secrets. I know multiple people who have worked there and the owner treated them horribly. Only showing respect to the people who have been there the longest. Multiple people who have had health problems have been fired with no reason, simply taken off the schedule and never spoken to again. read more

This little place is a fantastic restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I love the Betty Boop and old car ambiance plus the food is amazing. All homemade just like your mother made, i had their Liver and Onions and I swear my mother made it, it was just the same way she did it. No instant potatoes everything is fresh even homemade bread. If you're hungry and looking for something special and fresh and that you'll remember and tell your friends and I don't care if it's breakfast, lunch or dinner you won't be disappointed in eating at Nancy's Main Street Dinner. You know I can eat breakfast any time of the day and I had just place a #yardcard sign at Love is All You Need Retreat in Elyria, Ohio and was ready for some breakfast. You know my go to is eggs, bacon, potatoes and an English muffin and low and behold Nancy's on Main Street Diner had it! It's a quaint little Ole style diner in Grafton right off the main strip. Founded by a hubby & wife team. How ironic, that I set up a sign for a bride & groom resort I always have some work to do, so I jumped in but before you know it, my good looking plate arrived. YUMM...E. #theend This place seems to be a staple in the community as locals came and were greeted like family. I love places like this. HUMANS. As we continue our quest to complete the Lorain County Ice Cream Trail, we arrived here. It is a diner, not an ice cream store, so we had an early dinner including milkshakes. Not really sure why this place is on the ice cream trail. The front of the diner is an old fashioned diner car and there were only a few tables. We didn't know until later that there is a back room as well. Our server was the only one working and was a bit busy and she asked if we minded waiting while she made our shakes in the back. They turned out to be decent milkshakes. The menu is varied, with entrees, salads, sandwiches and appetizers. I opted for a cup of wedding soup, a patty melt and curly fries. The soup came out piping hot and was flavorful. The sandwich and fries were also hot, which I love. The patty melt was a thick patty, but lacked the oniony flavor of a patty melt. The curly fries were plentiful and good. Our server got swamped, so we waited a long time for our check. read more

everything was so good! the food you can tell is actually homemade and that there is effort put towards the meal you're given. the inside is super cute and the staff is of course friendly as well!! i definitely will be coming again. my nana got the meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes and green beans. the green beans were amazingggg and remind me of my aunties. i got the big dig burger with curly fries. the burger is huge, i could barley open my mouth wide enough to bite it. i also got ranch for the fries and their ranch is homemade and my favorite kind! read more

Oh Nancy. I want to like you better, but... I stopped in for the 2019 Lorain County Burger Battle. Last year I loved their pot roast burger and actually got it three times. This year just okay. Honestly every place I went to for the Burger Battle was a let down. Lorain restaurants be dropping the ball and causing me to lose my desire to drive over and support them. My problem with Nancy is that everyone was selling their burger for $9, except for them. They were selling it for $9.99. The most expensive sandwich on their menu. Now look at the menu, normally you get your choice of side with a burger, but for this special I had to pay $1.50 more for a side of corn. Just felt nickel and dimed compared to what they serve normally on their menu. Then my older waitress was clearly overwhelmed with her section and a bit spacey. Long wait times. Like I was told 30 minutes to cook my burger patty, not because they were busy but because the patty was so thick? The toast the burger came out on could have used some garlic butter, it was just dry with herbs. In fact the whole sandwich was dry and I had to add extra sides of red sauce to it. This sandwich would have been great if they cut down on the meat, added more sauce to begin with, and added onions and green peppers, (more gooey cheese is never a bad thing either). I will give Nancy another try because for what they are - simple comfort food/your grandparents diner (think liver and onions on the menu), it's not bad at all. Just come patient with a side of grace, and you might need to tweak your food a bit, but you'll be full and mostly satisfied. I'm leaning on the cantankerous side today so go to Nancy's and form your own opinion. read more

Waited 30 minutes in our car due to covid precautions and it was worth the wait. Staff is friendly and attentive. Ambiance is quintessential mom and pop dinner. Breakfast was fresh and delicious with fresh bread. The website says bread and sausage gravy are made daily. Save room for pie that is bursting with berries in a flaky delicious crust!! Nancy's is my favorite place to eat. They make everything fresh so it might take a while for you to get your food. It's worth the wait. I love the sidewinder fries. I love their burgers, country fried steak, and the cod is good. The only thing I ever ordered that I didn't like was the meatloaf but I know people who rave about it so to each their own. Nancy's rules. I love this place. It has the appearance of a 1950's era stainless steel diner both outside and in. The owner has it decorated with memorabilia suiting that era and it has a wonderful atmosphere. When you walk in, you just sit whoever you like and they'll head over to you in just a few minutes. Every server I've had has been friendly, helpful, and attentive. Overall, service is wonderful. The food...oh my goodness, the food. If you love homemade cookin from scratch, this is the spot! Everything is made to order with real ingredients and there isn't a single microwave in this place. Nancy's has been making food the right way since the day they opened and why mess with what works? My most recent visit was for breakfast and I went with my go-to meal of two eggs over medium with bacon, home fries with onions, home made rye toast, and a (freshly ground) cuppa coffee. It came out in about 10min and was made to perfection! They also have home made hot sauce and it's just the right heat for my taste. They also make occasional specials that'll knock your socks off. If you like vintage diners with affordable, home style food, then this is the place for you! Everything here is homemade, so it's not as fast of service as some other diners (like Waffle House), but it's worth the wait. I came here with my husband and in-laws on Sunday morning around 10:30, and we were able to find one of the last available booths. We had to wait 20-30 minutes for the food to arrive, but the coffee was delicious and they kept the refills coming. The decor has a strong 50's vibe - lots of Betty Boop, muscle cars, and retro posters on the walls. The staff was friendly and attentive. My food was insanely huge. I ordered the make your own omelette with veggies and pepper jack cheese. As a side with your omelette, you have a choice of toast and hash browns, 2 slices of french toast, or 2 pancakes. I wanted to try the pancakes, so that was my choice. YOU GUYS. The two pancakes were the size of dinner plates. I was kind of assuming the side dish version of a pancake would be smaller than the entree size, but they were exactly the same. They were really fluffy and buttery, and perfectly browned (seriously, how do diners make such perfect pancakes). For $7.50 I had enough for two meals, PLUS had help eating my pancakes from the others in my party. Also, the bread here is homemade, and you have a choice of white, wheat, or rye. Big toasty slabs of bread, and you get TWO pieces! I snuck a bite of my husbands because it looked so good. I love a good diner, and I love a good deal. Honestly, only went here because the line for Check Please (our favorite breakfast spot in town) was too long. First time here as a resident of Grafton and was not impressed. The biggest issue was the extremely long wait time to place an order and receive our food. We probably were there an hour and a half and we were already on a tight schedule. The waitress was not very pleasant although she was practically serving the whole main side. The breakfast food was pretty standard, and the pancakes were massive (my positive experience). With limited dining options in down, I'd probably only be likely to return if I was getting breakfast with friends or family and there was another long line at CP. read more

Went here for our first time this evening. Small place with some tables on both sides of 2 seperated rooms. Had a wonderful, homey atmosphere(which is exactly what we were looking for!). Waitress was very friendly & stayed on top of our beverages without being overbearing. The food was absolutely amazing! This is a gem and shining example of what the neighborhood family diner should be like! All menu items are scratch made by Nancy and Denise in that grand ol' kitchen. One of their outstanding specialties are the baked goods. Those pies in the display case when you come in did not come in on delivery truck. They were scratched baked along with the home made bread used in their breakfasts. I love their home made rye and sliced potatoes with an omelette "dragged through the garden..." Breakfast doesn't get any better than that. Her burgers, in my humble opinion, are twice as good as the ones at the highfalutin bistro's in the city and at a price we rural folks can afford. If your there for dinner, keep an eye out for anything "pot roast" on the menu, it will melt in your mouth and delight your soul. 1950's decor throughout, with a staff that truly makes you feel like family. Stopped in for breakfast with my wife. You walk in to a restored train car. A few tables there, and several more when you walk through the passage way. 50's decor everywhere. Breakfast prices are competitive and reasonable. I had sausage gravy over biscuits. Wife had eggs, hash browns and rye toast. Food was good! The toast was exceptional- extra thick, buttered and warm. Other reviews mention a long wait time since everything is made from scratch. This may be true for lunch and dinner. I am not sure. Breakfast was served very quick. No complaints here. Real small town diner atmosphere where the waitress knows half the customers by name - you'll definitely not feel rushed so allow enuf time and soak in the slow pace....and then prepare to be surprised by the quality of food.
