I've seen both Joe and John here and I love them! They cut my hair exactly how I want it, and then style it beautifully. They are also taking their Covid precautions seriously. I filled out a form for contact tracing, had my temperature read, everyone wore a mask and John wore a face shield as he worked! They sanitize between clients and are using disposable capes, which is great because I'd question how they sanitize the cloth capes. Dylan is the best hairdresser you will come across. When you sit in the chair the first thing he asks you is what you want done to your hair. Let's say you want a trim; an inch or two. He then takes a piece of your hair to see what "an inch" looks like to you. See, everyone interprets an inch differently. What this says about Dylan? He wants to make sure you get the haircut you came in for. Really in the 5 years I went to Dylan, he always gave me exactly what I wanted. It was honestly perfect every time. He listens intently to your specifications and he also takes his time. Very detailed oriented, thinking about how the hair will grow out and what will look good in the long run. Sometimes I would go 5 months before seeing Dylan again, because my hair would stay so healthy and styled on its own. Thank you Dylan for everything. CT just got a big gift by you moving there. This is for Dylan. My son Matt doesn't have yelp,but he was thrilled with the service he got from Dylan. Color correction and cut. However Dylan was honest with him and told him that he couldn't do the color correction back to blonde without frying his hair. Dylan suggested instead to go with a red color to work with the orange base. My son was thrilled with the result and the haircut he got was exactly what he asked for just a trim and some texturizing. I was suppose to write this review a while ago, but Im glad I waited until a second visit. First off Nancy is full of energy, friendly and an extremely experienced hairstylist. I showed a photo to her and asked her to cut my hair a specific length. She not only followed my request to a T, but she left my hair with volume and bounce I've never seen before! I just recently moved an hour away, but I still go to Nancy to get my cut, even if it's a far drive! *Bonus* Your hair will smell amazing after a shampoo at Nancy's! read more

Heidi is AMAZING!! I love going to her for manicures and pedicures. It is a great way to spend a couple of hours - pampering with a glass of wine and great conversation. She is very detailed and precise when doing the mani and pedi - the polish always looks great. I only wish she had more availability at Nancy's. read more

I have to say, I went off a review that was posted here late summer of last year and to my disapointment I see that is no longer here. I do hope this review like the one I mentioned, helps someone, because it did for me. I have curly, curly kinky hair with different textures. Chana did great long layers and maintained my lenght. We did a wash and set, and till today my hair looks great. ( This was just a week ago.) It's nice and straight and not knotty! If you have my type of hair, and have trouble dealing with frizzy hair. I'm a 24 year old guy and checked out Nancy's because I was in the area and needed a haircut for a special occasion the following weekend, Yelp gave Nancy's the best reviews and I am happy to corroborate them. I already have pretty short hair, it needed a slight trim and really, just shaping to make it look styled and kept up. I showed up and had a delightful conversation with a very friendly lady working the desk until it was time for my appointment. Nancy, the owner, greeted me and listened thoroughly to what I wanted and gave her suggestions which I liked. I always find it awkward talking to hairdressers (personal quirk of mine) but was surprised to find myself chatting the entire way through with her. She was meticulous with the job she did and it showed at the end. I tend to walk out of salons somewhat unhappy with the cuts and only get used to them after a couple days of letting them settle and I was extra nervous going in this time as my hair was short to begin with and I feared walking out near bald but I have to say I received one of the best cuts of my life from her and with an experience and overall impression that I won't forget. I would not mind driving the 45 minutes from where I live to Nancy's to get future cuts of this quality. Go here, you will be happy you did. read more

We were rushing to the new London ferry between Maine and the eastern end of Long Island, and planning to meet friends for dinner, when I remembered that my hair had just yesterday outgrown my last cut! Quickly yelped "hair cutter in New London" and saw that the highly rated "Nancy's" was near the ferry. Walking into the former "beauty box" I was transported to the 1930's! My cutter, Alex, understood me right away, asking questions just as I was thinking what I should volunteer in order to communicate my needs better. Best haircut of my life! I found this place based on yelp reviews after I had no luck on my own finding a good salon. Nancy the owner got me right in that day for a haircut. My hair is wavy and about halfway down my back but tends to get a little frizzy and can fall flat. She have me a long shag with lots of layers cut to a "V" in the back and it looked AMAZING!! I got so many compliments. It looks great no matter how I style it, even air-dried which is something I've never been able to do. My cut still looks great 3 weeks later! Good god, Dylan is amazing. I've been to him 3 times now for a cut and highlights, and somehow he manages to transform my incoherent rambling into perfect hair. The best thing about his work is that it grows out beautifully. I've had excellent cuts and highlights, but they've gone into that awkward "used to look good and now looks like a stray dog" phase. Dylan specifically asks how the cut grew out and colors in such a way that it is "lived in" and looks perfect for months. He also is a pretty awesome human. read more

I am Asian and originally from Orange County, CA where ppl just get how to do Asian hair while charging up the you know what. It's been tough finding someone who gets what I mean when all I say is "lighten while avoiding the orange color that happens to asian hair when lightening..." He knew exactly what i was talking about and over the last year, he has been cutting and coloring my hair to PERFECTION at SUCH a good price! My friend and I made hair appointments together at Nancy's; Her appointment was at 11 for cut and color with Dylan, mine at 11:30 for just a cut. When we walked in at 11am, Dylan started right in on my friend's hair, and I was given a chair near them to wait until my appointment. I sat in that chair for TWO HOURS being virtually ignored by everyone but Dylan, who was super apologetic as he expertly cut and colored my friend's hair. I don't know what happened for them to completely ignore and miss my appointment, but I was so, so deeply frustrated that I wasted two hours of my day waiting for a haircut that I never got. Dylan asked the receptionist about what was taking so long several times, but the other hairdresser seemed to be busy with a walk in that must have arrived shortly before my friend and I. The entire situation felt deeply unprofessional and disrespectful, and although I was offered a 20% off coupon as I left, there's no way I'm going back to a place where I can't even trust that my appointment will happen. read more
