I've been to this salon multiple times over the past few years. Shannon, the owner, had always been nice and cuts hair well. However, she books way in advance so I never can get in with her. The last time I was in, she was at the counter when the hairstylist walked me up to pay. I didn't appreciate a comment she made about how long it had been since I came in last. I know. The last year hasn't been kind to me. It wasn't a neutral comment, it was very accusatory. Self care hasn't been high on my priorities, so I don't find it appropriate to further shame me for it. All that aside, I won't be back after my most recent cut. I told the hairdresser I wanted an angled bob and showed them an inspo picture. I came in with armpit length hair so this shouldn't have been an issue. They glanced at the pic, asked me next to no clarifying questions, and proceeded to give me a chin length lord Farquaad straight bob instead. They also did not provide a mirror to see the back so it wasn't until I got home and could get a good view of the back did I realize just how different it was from what I asked for. I hoped it was the styling, but even after washing and restyling, there's no way around it. This is the second time I've cried over a haircut I've gotten from hairdressers at this salon because they just don't seem to care about what I ask for, they just do whatever they want. read more

I relocated to the New Haven area during Covid but drive back just to go here because I love it so much! New to the area, I didn't find a hairdresser that worked for me. I was still going to my hairdresser in San Francisco because I had work trips and integrated my hair maintenance with those trips. Since COVID, my hair was getting unruly so I found WIldflower on Yelp. Going on 9 months now, I needed to address my problem. I took the first appointment I could get and it was with Kelly. Everything about the experience was great. I waited outside until they called me, I didn't wait long. I felt safe, it was very clean and social distanced. They used quality product in my hair and gave me a wonderful head massage. She took 4 inches off and it did a great job with my wavy, thick hair. Kelly will be my go to in Southeastern CT. I already knew I was going to be in excellent hands when I originally contacted the salon via email to ask a question and Shannon got back to me after a few minutes, already with a solution for my hair! The salon is very welcoming and bright, so you feel relaxed from the moment you step in. Shannon is wonderful; we had a brief chat about what realistically could be done to change my uniform bleached platinum hair and this is the result. I think pictures speak more than words! The price was also on point, considering the color correction and all the work needed to change my hair colour. I am super happy and looking forward to coming back in the future; Shannon is an expert in balayage, dimension, rooted look and obtaining the shade of blonde you want. This buisness clearly does not want new buisness. I called to make an appointment. I've never been there and 1st hair cut since covid. I was anxious. She would not make an appointment without my credit card information. I expressed my concern about giving the information to strangers. Then she insisted on my cell phone number. We use our cells with family and friends. I gave her a perfectly good land line number. She seems extremely annoyed. She called back later and said they are not therapists. You are not a good fit. She said a few more unkind words. I realized that they may not use the same name when posted accounts at the bank. I called back to be sure she deleted my bank information and ask for the name them post to your account. She cut me off. Called the police and using my name said I threatened to vandalize the place. I called to ask what I needed to do if they charged my account. The officer said they called already and said I threatened to come in and destroy the place. Very different than the request to delete my personal information. By using my name it is very clear they did not delete my information. Use at your own risk. read more

She's full of knowledge and shares all her skincare tips along as well as recommends her favorite products. She's also incredibly kind and I love chatting with her. She does the best job with my color and cuts while remembering all the juicy details from last time we talked. I followed my hair dresser Mel here from her former salon and happily make the forty minute drive from my new home to get here. The design of the salon is so calming and fresh- I am obsessed. They strive to make you feel as comfortable as possible by offering tea, coffee, even wine. Coming here feels like I'm just hanging out with a good friend. While Mel is my girl and I will follow her anywhere, I would happily see Holly or Shannon if she were unavailable. I'd trust any of them with my thick and wild hair. What I love about them is that you can be honest about your budget, your skill level, etc. and they'll guide you towards an appropriate cut. I never feel silly telling Mel I'm poor this month and to do her best with what I've got. I've sent a ton of people here and will continue to do so. read more

Extremely expensive for nothing special. I went in expecting a nice haircut with Olivia and did not expect to pay $65 for a trim when she didn't even blow out my hair. I always tip 20% so that was another $13 which made me walk out of there paying $73 for a trim. I feel taken and wish I could get my money back. read more

I came for a Brazilian wax. It has been YEARS since I got a wax. Shannon was SPECTACULAR!!!!! She made me feel 100% comfortable. She is the BEST waxer EVER! I just want to thank HOLLY for her work! I was surprised my hair was ready for a ash brown color considering my hair is naturally dark brown and have gotten my hair lighten before, last year from a salon in my home state of California. These women are fabulous and I absolutely love them! Melissa has been my designated "hair therapist" for 11 years and my hair always looks amazing when I leave her chair. When I had to move out of the area, I would always call her for my previous color combinations and she would provide the stylist what she did so that her art could be recreated for me. I am thankful for not only her customer service, but her loyalty to her clients. Oh, and my husband always notices my hair after my appointment from this salon! I know we are in Pandemic times, but I was instructed to wait outside in my car for my appointment. After sitting there for 15 minutes, after calling twice, someone finally picked up and said my stylist was still not ready and would I wait a few more minutes. I found that unacceptable. It was for a wash/blow dry. Not great service at all. Either tell me when I first arrive my stylist is running late, or don't commit to the time in the first place. I left. read more

A wonderful salon full of great people! I am not a fan of the whole process of haircuts and all that to begin with; however, the staff and environment at Wildflower made me feel so comfortable and at home! When seated in the comfortable waiting area for my appointment I looked around and noticed a smile on everyone's face. I mean there was talking and work going on as well, but you notice an underlying current of happiness and warmth. These people love what they do and they love their clients. For someone like me that has never been a fan of any sort of beauty regimen, they restored my faith and made me feel welcome and at home. My haircuts have been wonderful and I couldn't be happier with the results. I moved about 45 minutes FURTHER away and will still continue to go back.
