This restaurant just had a renovation and the restaurant looks cleaner, up to date, and inviting. We love the grilled chicken thighs here! Order one or two thighs and pick your sauce. From lime to medium, hot , or very hot.The grilled flavor is awesome. They have lots of different sauces to pick from to dip your chicken in. Chicken can come with sides of your choice. We like the mashed potatoes and a fries. The corn can be good during the summer time because it is seasonal. But sometimes the corn can be overcooked. Their grilled chicken is absolutely delicious! The chicken bowls are also delicious. They have a spiked lemonade which is pretty good. Although you can order your food directly at the table and they bring the food to you, the servers still check back to with you to see if you need anything constantly so the service is decent. read more

Nando's is a place I can comfortably say that it's always a go visit place if you like chicken but I also realize that not locations are created equal. This location in particular just felt odd because my experience here has been pretty lukewarm. I was seated promptly and I placed my order for a 1/2 chicken with two sides and when the food initially first came out, I didn't even get both of my sides so I ended up having to flag down someone to show them my order and that I was missing both. My chicken was a bit cold at this point so instead of just asking for the manager, I just went and started eating the chicken before the other sides came back out. The coleslaw and the rice were at least made quick. Maybe I went at a wrong time but it was just empty, loud music playing in the background and surprisingly just dirty bathrooms? Perhaps it was an off day for Nando's, I don't know. I'll try this place again if I'm in the area, but I don't have high hopes for this location. read more

This is my second time going to Nando's. My first time was not great at all- but the time was wonderful! The staff on duty were so welcoming! He was so helpful, recommended these lovely dishes, and made us laugh a lot! I went on a Thursday at 3pm and no one was really there, so the vibes were calm with some lovely South African music. Our food came out very quickly. The chicken was seasoned to perfection, the fries were so hot, fresh, and crispy, and the honey lavender lemonade was so refreshing! I haven't had a problem with this nandos location! I mainly use the app to online order and appreciate the accurate pick up times. The half chicken with one side is a great meal and fills you up well. I've tried a few other of their items (sandwiches, salad bowl, other sides) which are all delicious as well. The closest parking is the parking garage all the way in the back or try your luck finding a parallel parking spot. read more

First of all, the South African jazz music was LOUD! But festive. Just not used to really loud background music at a restaurant except for LIVE music. Anyway, sign up for Nandos rewards before going to get free garlic bread ($2.99 value) but it was delicious. We ordered the 1/4 breast medium with one side (ear of corn) & 1/4 breast medium with 2 sides (Portugese rice & +$2 Brussel Sprouts). The kitchen was running behind so they gave us a free order of garlic strips (larger order of garlic bread). Nice of them. I didn't mind waiting cause I was taking pictures for Yelp! After about 15 mins, we got our food. Nice, hot and fresh. My son's 1/4 breast was huge along with his grilled corn on the cob. My 1/4 breast was half the size, charred and dry along with small bowl of rice (tasted like Uncle Bens microwaved packet rice) & a bowl of roasted Brussel Sprouts in creamy ranch/cheese parm dressing. The sides need work but the flavors are there. Service was good. $1.95 dine-in tax. Well done Fairfax County Sheriff of Nottingham! Since the staff has to clear the tablesn I tipped them 22% when I paid. Overall, food was good (that garlic bread is salty, garlic, crisp, fluffy and buttery goodness) and so was service. I am not certain what all the hype is about with Nando's Peri-Peri. This was my 1st time at the Mosaic location, however, I've been to 3 other locations over the years. So I've dined at Nando's 4x altogether. What strikes me as odd, the service is half self-serve, half they serve you. You must order for yourself with your phone using the table designated QR code and pay and close out. It prematurely prompts you to leave a tip, although its too early in the process since you haven't actually received any service yet. They bring the food out to you, however you must get your own napkins, silverware, dipping hot sauce, and water. So it's sort of like a modern, nicely decorated restaurant, but you help yourself for some things like at a fast food restaurant. I don't get the concept so that was sorta weird in my opinion and not certain what the tip is for since you don't receive much individual attention. (-1 star) The public restrooms are individual use, no designation for male or female. One restroom was super gross. The sink was clogged and the floor was a disaster. (-1 star) There is a hand-washing station out on the main floor near the utensils and hot sauce station. So one could wash their hands there rather than using one of the individual restrooms. Also, the main entrance door to the restaurant was stuck and very heavy to push and pull. To open the door, someone had to help me pry the door open. And to leave, I really had to struggle and push with all my weight to get it open. As I dined from the outside seating area, I noticed every single patron struggle with getting in and letting themselves out. (-1 star) I think Nando's is ok, but they have room for improvement. Nando' Peri Peri is a nicer version of fast casual in that in addition to ordering from the counter, you can opt for waiter service at a table. This makes for a slightly more relaxed meal. The service was great and the open feeling of the space with its bright colors also added to this happy feeling. We opted for the peri paradise chicken melt and the chicken wrap, both which were tasty and almost felt healthy - ish. We had a lot of fun experimenting will the wide variety of sauces which ranged from mild to supe spicy as outlined in their color coded hot pepper graphic. The brussels sprouts were also good and, again, felt a little healthier than the fries (which we did also order - you can't be healthy all the time...) The mango limeade was a nice accompaniment. Located in Mosaic, this Nandos gives you option of sitting by a window or outside to enjoy the nice weather and ample people watching. I have enjoyed coming to Nando's for delicious chicken for the past 5 years. The interior of this restaurant location is pleasant. However, take-out ordering service at this location needs a LOT of improvement. My jumbo chicken order placed online on January 10, 2025 at 6:04pm had a 10 minute ready to pickup time estimate. I arrived at Nando's 15 minutes later, and asked about the order which a staff person said was being processed. So I waited for bit. At 6:35pm, I asked the same guy about the order (he was looking at his phone) and he asked two people about it, but did absolutely nothing. Another staff person saw me waiting and said it would be another 25 minutes. At that point, I raised my voice and said if it was going to 55 minutes, I shouldn't be rushing to get there in 15 minutes. Finally, the manager walked over and saw I was upset and asked about the order. She went into the kitchen to inquire about the jumbo chicken order and said it would be 5 minutes. Although I was willing to wait 5 minutes, the experience was irritating (I don't mind waiting usually, but for a $75 order, there should be some basic communication). If you come here and see staff waiting about looking at their phones, make sure you find the manager to give an accurate time estimate. This was a terrible experience - but I may give them a second chance as I enjoy the delicious food. Perhaps January brought staffing turnover and challenges. read more

Nando's is one of my favorite fast casual restaurants! I know a few South Africans and Brits who revere this spot so I know I am in good company. Many many moons ago, their only location was in Chinatown but now it is has expanded to nearly every city AND they sell their famous peri-peri sauce in bulk at Costco. Truly, this world is an amazing place! A few fun facts: - Nando's is one of the largest owners of South African art around the world - ALL of the birds-eye chilies for their sauce are purchased from small farmer in Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Malawi and South Africa. Ethical and responsible, I love to hear it. - They are all about inclusive recruitment, with a particular focus on those with disabilities and special educational needs. They truly practice what they preach when they talk about giving back to the community. I am currently on the fundraising committee at my local elementary school and they are donating FORTY percent of proceeds on our spirit night back to the PTA. This is unheard of school PTA world. Plus everyone I've worked with has been SO SO SO NICE and helpful. And the food is actually good! I'm all about their carbs so I love the mild chicken thighs with a hit of the lemon garlic sauce, rice, corn, AND fries. Their fries are absolutely perfect. The Food: I went with a new item I haven't seen before, the "Peri Chicken Rainbow Bowl". The chicken thigs were cooked perfectly, tender and juicy. And, all the toppings/ingredients paired together for a delicious, fresh bowl. The portion size is big as well, so it'll leave you full for sure. The Service: Service was good. I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. High ceiling with handmade African crafts. All the seats looked pretty comfortable. We had 1/4 leg meal with one side dish, also one chicken rainbow bowl. Water was for free which made me happy because when I was in London, at the same Nando's, you have to pay water. I meant, in most of European countries. Our dishes were well seasoned and prepared, they looked and tasted great. Only two things I am about to say. One is that you have to download the APP and order online. Just wondering how some older people do this. Another one is that the amount of dishes were quite small. For a normal young man, perhaps he needs two sides at least. Came here for dinner after a long day of driving hoping for a quick but delicious meal. Loved being able to order with a QR code on our phones and pay at the start. Service was pretty slow despite it being pretty empty on a weeknight; we got our food at different times too, which was also a bit awkward. When the food did come, one dish came with a large 1/4 leg (and a side of garlic bread), while the other dish came with a pretty small 1/4 leg (plus a side of rice and fries) though we essentially ordered the same thing. This was my first Nando's in years so I thought the chicken was super tender and delicious, but my partner said he had been to far better ones. We still loved both the seasonings (mango lime and lemon herb) we got for our respective chicken legs. Really enjoyed the garlic bread as well and was happy it came with two! Another small qualm was the cleanliness. Our seats were covered in rice when we arrived, so we had to wipe them ourselves. The communal sauce stand was also very sticky, as was the side sink next to the sauce stand.
