I expect my child to get sick (which is nobody's fault) but she was out for 1.5 weeks and the only time the director reached out to me was to ask for payment, not a concern or knowledge that my daughter was out for so long. COVID came along, the owner/directly withheld money from our tuition as cleaning fees and credit. I really did not want to go back but covid was a mess to find new daycares so I let both my children go for the summer to utilize the credit that she withheld from me. They leave their school bags outside in the sun before pick up time, a possible "rodent" or animal chewed through my daughter's bag (I don't care about the bag but it's kinda gross to have rodents crawling my children's belongings) but according to the owner, it's impossible. So it must have been either my pet goldfishes or 3 year old son who chewed it out...since it was "impossible"to have rodents outside their building. Friday was pizza day. I gave pizza money but they miscommunicated somehow and didn't feed my daughter. When I tried to talk to the owner, she put her hand in my face and told me "it would never happen again and I had to drop it". Even if I had forgotten to pay, would it be so terrible to feed a child with the half slice of pizza you ordered if she did not have anything to eat? In the beginning of the summer, the teacher told me my son had an accident in his pants, fine, whatever, it happens with kids. Two months later, they returned a bag of soiled clothes to me. It would have been better if they just tossed it. Send in labeled lip balm and sun screen they say, it will be applied if they go out later in the day. Forget it, by the end of the summer, all my sunscreens were brand new. There were many great teachers that worked here but most have left. It's a beautiful new and clean place with lots of potential to be great, unfortunately, when you only look at $ and not use your heart to care for the children that parents trust you with, it will show right through. I spent a few seasons here because I really wanted to like it, all the parents including myself were ultimately disappointed in the management of this daycare.

This was a deal breaker for us we chose another facility who was willing to be transparent with you. transparency is so important when you are dealing with infant parents.

Our story with Pride & Joy Daycare, and the two updates are at the very bottom of this review…read more On July 18th 2023 at 1:34pm, my husband and I received a called from Donna (lead teacher) and Vanessa (a Pride & Joy director) that our 2-year old's daycare teacher, Ashley took the whole class back inside the classroom leaving our son, James, outside. We were told that James was "left outside less than 5 minutes in the backyard." We picked up James from the daycare immediately. At that time, we spoke to Stephanie, the director of another Pride & Joy location, in which she told us in person, that James was left outside on the front lawn unsupervised for "15-20 minutes." Not a single person involved in this situation spoke with us. Stephanie told us, "Ashley was supposed to collect the kids (about 15 kids), and Donna was supposed to do a face to name check at the door which was not done." She also expressed how upset she was about the situation, and that she was the one who made the call to Child Protective Services, and Office of Children and Family Services. We were told by Stephanie that according to the Infant Room teacher who ended up taking her class to a different area of the property, that James went to her twice. She sent James away the first time to "go back to your group," and then supposedly he came back a second time, and that's when the teacher realized something wasn't right. Interestingly enough, our 14-year-old son, Kai, just so happened to be walking past the daycare with a friend on his way to play tennis. Kai actually took a picture of Jimmy while he was completely unsupervised. The director Stephanie told my husband and I twice on the day of the incident that "Ashley was supposed to collect the children, and Donna was supposed to do a face to name check at the door." No other teachers were mentioned. We were also told that Donna was already inside the classroom changing the diaper of another child. When I asked CPS about the cameras, thinking the footage would answer all questions, her response was "their cameras have been inoperable since their last visit." UPDATE: JULY 25, 2023-- VIEWING OF VIDEO FOOTAGE FROM A SOURCE OUTSIDE OF THE DAYCARE James was left outside unattended for 45 minutes. The infant room teacher who claimed to tell James to "go back to his group" actually had a barricade up (put up at 10:33am), and my son did not actually go to her. She was in charge of her own class. 11:02am, and the lead teacher Donna can be seen shocked, with two hands over her face with clearly the news of my son being outside. 11:20am, Stephanie is seen entering the building from the parking lot. Since the incident, James has been having nightmares screaming for my husband, Kai, and me. At the beginning of the footage Donna can be seen leaving the classroom, and building in her red pickup truck. Who was with Ashley and the 15 kids? Donna appears to come back to the building with a white grocery bag. UPDATE AS OF MAY 21st, 2024: If this wasn't a nightmare enough. My husband and I live near the daycare, and who do we see with the children out on the front lawn? Ashley. That's right. The teacher that is not supposed to be working with children anymore according to CPS! The same week Ashley was seen still working with 2 year olds, I get a copy of the letter that was supposed to be sent out to the current enrolled parents of Pride & Joy. The letter did not mention the fact that my son was left outside for 43 minutes on the front lawn during a heatwave. Stephanie also lies in the letter stating that the child had contact with another teacher "shortly."No he did not! My 2 year old was left on the front lawn, without water, or supervision, and was running around with a metal garden stake. I was not going to write a review, but to now see that these parents are being lied to, and that Ashley still works there with children is beyond irresponsible, dangerous, and illegal. I was told that Ashley can no longer work with children, and she is still working at Pride & Joy.

From reinforcing learning we do at home, to teaching him so many new and exciting things, the teachers at TLE are kind, professional and most important to me, loving. Children are often left without proper supervision, especially when they cry. My child was bitten repeatedly for three weeks in a row. Instead of addressing the issue directly, the administration said they had bought a book for the teachers so they could "learn" how to prevent such situations. But these are basic skills every caregiver should already have when working with children. 2. Food. The menu includes a lot of sweets and processed foods. I personally saw children being given Oreo cookies. There was even a case when the milk was close to spoiling. This is absolutely unacceptable for children's nutrition. 3. Water and milk. Children are regularly given very cold milk and water from the refrigerator. Even when I brought my own water and left it separately, I would still find it in the fridge at the end of the day. As a result, children often get sore throats and coughs. 4. Temperature in the classroom. Several times I noticed that the rooms were very cold: teachers were wearing jackets, while the children sat in shorts and were freezing. This happens quite often and raises serious concerns about the comfort of the environment. 5. Parent communication app. The app almost never works properly. For months, their iPad would shut down after just one hour of use. Even after replacing it, the problem remained -- updates are not entered on time, and parents don't receive information in real time. 6. Formula and basic needs. When my child first started, she was still partially on formula. In the application form, I filled out all the details to help her adapt smoothly. However, I was told that "the daycare doesn't have hot water" to prepare the formula. This is absurd, especially considering they also accept infants. How can a daycare operate without such a basic necessity? After some unpleasant conversations, they eventually allowed it for a while, but the very fact that this was an issue shows a lack of basic readiness and care. Conclusion: In my opinion, this daycare fails to provide the basic safety, nutrition, and comfort that children deserve. Parents considering this option should think very carefully before enrolling their child here.
