Extremely pleased with this apartment and its locality. The only downside is the absence of elevator. Have been staying here for the past four years with no complaints. The maintenance staffs are very good, especially Jose. Every complaint gets promptly resolved. Haven't heard many incidents of break-ins or damage and being a gated community, makes us feel safe. Dear neighbors, lock your windows, lock your doors! Don't leave anything on the balcony! This is not a secure place to live, despite its good appearance. It gives a false sense of security because it is a gated community and it has alarm systems in the units (just for the doors). However, someone climbed on my balcony, 3rd floor, to steal my bicycles. The alarm was set, but didn't help, because they climbed from outside. I asked the management to warn people and they sent an e-mail to all the residents. I don't think that made any difference, because people still have their bicycles on the balconies. read more

If I can give this place 0 star then I really would. The place is great , location good and they have great amenities. But that being said the rental management that runs this place are out to rip people. We moved out of this place before our lease ended because we got our own place - we paid up the money to break the lease $5000 , we got a professional cleaner to do a complete move out clean - $150. Apart from this we were charged our complete security deposit $300 in the name of wear and tear - we let it go. We were there in the apartment between January 1st - September 20th - we took a 6 week vacation abroad in this period. We have no pets , no kids - not sure where all the wear and tear really came from. After all this after 6 months we got a letter from the Property Management Company called Riverstone based out of Seattle that we still owed $75 for all the wear and tear and if we do not pay up that amount we would be reported to the Credit Union and legal action would be initiated. No communication from Nantucket and nothing what so ever in these many days. I will not recommend this place to anyone. Pathetic management and bullying tactics. read more

This is ABSOLUTELY NOT A SECURE PLACE TO LIVE! My friend's car got broken into DURING THE DAY in the parking lots of the apartment! Please see the picture in the gallery. Three issues with security: 1. The two gates closes so slowly that any car can tailgate an authorized car and sneak into the community. 2. I have talked to several guys who lived here for more than 3 years and they said the gates won't close now and then. I just moved into the apartment for one month and I have already seen this happened and the gate didn't get repaired for 4 days, now it's still open:-( That means any burglar can enter into the community easily. 3. There's no security camera inside the community, even the two gates don't have security cameras right in front of them, which means if any burglary happens no useful info will be provided to the police, and the burglars will probably come back again. To the ones who plan to move in: You will pay a crazy amount of money for the monthly payment, and you don't even get enough security for your home and your car? What the hell is that? Before you sign the lease, please make sure to check if the above issues are fixed BY YOURSELF. read more

Do you enjoy planes and a rural feel? Clicky on the little '-' button over there on the Yelp map of this place. As you zoom out you'll see SJC come into view and aimed nearly right at this place. It's noisy. For some, really noisy. Imagine low flying planes every 3-5 mins. But, hey, some people don't notice these things. Rural feel? What I mean is there are almost no services nearby. Sure, there's a strip mall with a super market and a few chain restaurants. But you are driving a minimum of 5-10 miles just to get to started with some more interesting places to eat or shop. That said, the apartments are pretty nice and I had no problems with the management during my brief stay. read more

Aliera, Destanie, and Derek are all phenomenal. They are swift in responses to our millions of questions and have made the experience of moving into this complex an absolute breeze. Aliera assisted with our in person appointment tour to view the property, and was beyond delightful to tour the complex with. We shared laughs and commonalities during the short time we had together. Destanie kept up with incoming correspondence throughout our move in process and made sure all questions were answered promptly and fully. She even followed up to see how to move in went and if she could assist in any other way! Derek came to our apartment in proper PPE to explain some questions we had regarding maintenance and has been a kind presence anytime we run into him on the premises. Nantucket itself is a well kept apartment complex in the middle of Silicon Valley, with an expansive nature reserve right across the street. read more

Well if you enjoy hearing air planes fly over you as well as neighbors that are so loud you have to turn up the tv then you should definitely live here. This is by far the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in! I live on the second floor and the people above me sound like elephants. When these people are not waking me up the planes are or the sound of the amtrak train that runs near by. On top of this the maintenance begins every Thursday right outside my window startling me awake and the loud noise continues throughout the whole day. If that wasn't enough,the people who work here are also not nice. They did a mandatory inspection of my apartment fire alarms which was during a span of several days and since I have a pet I wanted to get a better idea of when they would be in my apartment and then said they could not tell me. Then I came home one day after they had been in my apartment and they had left the door unlocked! When I called to inquire about this they simply said oh yes it was us, sorry but the people who were in your apartment are very trustworthy. Who Cares!!! Someone else could have come into my apartment and stolen my things after these idiots had left!!! On top of that the leasing office seams to never be open and if you package is left there they act like it is a hug inconvenience to them. Also the bathroom is so small that your shoulders touch each side of the walls not to mention it is so cheap that there is no water pressure and the shower makes a creaking noise. The microwave also hardly ever works and you have to flip the breaker every time you want to use it. The sink leaks and the oven cooks unevenly, meanwhile the refrigerator and freezer seem to thaw out periodically leaving your items to either spoil or to become freezer burnt!! Currently I am still living here but I will definitely not be renewing my lease!!!!! The rent is far too high for the quality of the apartment you get. read more

My granddaughter lives here and is in love with the complex. She's never had a single complaint! On numerous occasions Jose has helped me (a visitor) with carrying my vacation bags up the stairs. We have been living here for 6 months now and I have nothing but positive reviews about this place. Starting from the management to the maintenance team and of course the apartments themselves. Let me start by saying that the current property manager Sabrina is exceptional. She is very competent, helpful and on top of her work. She tried hard to help out the residents and meet their demands. The complex is very quite even though it is located very close to the new 49er stadium. I never had an issue with any event taking place there. I do notice the airplanes every now and then but that doesn't bother me. The maintenance team is pretty good. They regularly take care of trash, do landscaping, and quickly respond to service requests. The apartments are all remodeled. We live on the top floor and we feel as if we live in our own house. We never hear the neighbors or are bothered by thin walls or any of that which is a big requirement for me. I really have nothing negative to say about this place. If you are looking for a place to stay come talk to Sabrina. She is amazing and will sure help you out. read more

We're holed up in a corporate housing building, and I must say its pretty nice for being a place to stay for a month! Amenities that make me go "Yay" are - dvd rentals, car wash, fitness center (much better than other apartment complexes - 2+ of each cardio machines), free Otis Spunkmeyer cookies, coffee and tea in the lobby. The office and grounds staff are really friendly, and the grounds are very clean and tidy. After moving here from MA, I can safely say that these apartments don't look like places in Nantucket... But the cheesy ship-shaped weather vanes on top of the buildings are cute, even if half of them don't move in the wind. read more

I lived there for less than 3 months before I had to move out due to mold. these apartments are not solidly built. Way over priced! The front staff was horrible. The only good leasing agent left and the asst manager was fired. She rented me an apartment that was already leased and called me and I had to settle on a second level apartment. At the time I was in socal so I could not look for another complex to get on the top level. I don't really trust that area all together.. the trash area is always full and people throw boxes and shit all over.. I expect a lot when i pay 2k for a place.. Look elsewhere... read more

I cannot say enough positive about Nantucket apartments! The grounds are gorgeous, we always feel safe and secure, and the management team is incredibly friendly and helpful! Always greeted with a smile if you enter the office and they are all quick to give you an answer to any questions. Any maintenance issues we may have (which are few) they are quick to send someone over to take a look and help resolve your issue! An amazing place to live overall. First of all i want to explain that in order for me to write a review, the service/product needs to be exceptional or below average. In this case the service was exceptional. Above and beyond. Was in the process of moving to a new location with only a few days left in my schedule to decide and Jenly Lam, exceeded my expectations. This was my 18th property i viewed in 5 days so you can imagine the stress/anxiety. Need to move in now but don't want to settle. None of the previous 17 Leasing Consultants knew about the units as well as Jenly Lam did. When you're moving, the process is very stressful. I explained what I needed in the unit including a view since i was scheduled to work from home all day ever day. Jenly Lam was the only consultant that was excited about the unit as i was because she understood what i was looking for. She saw my vision. The previous 17 lease consultants had very little energy, just going through the motions. This position is a sales position. Therefore should be treated as such. Understand what the client is looking for and find either the right unit or something close to it. Tell them why it would fit their needs. Why would a potential tenant move into your complex opposed to 1000s of other units with similar amenities and? It's their attention to detail. When i left the viewing, I had 5 other properties to view but after driving out the driveway, i realized Nantucket was the ideal complex with the perfect unit i needed. I immediately drove right back and started the process. Jenly helped me every step of the approval process, communicated effectively and got me approved in less than 24 hours!!!!! I do have to mention that if it wasn't for Jenly, I would not have moved here. The other consultants are ok but they're a dime a dozen including the other consultants at Nantucket. Wasn't sure if i was calling the leasing office or the doctor's office. I had to do a double take. In the sales world, you have to stand out and care or at least pretend to care or this isn't for you. I was recently informed that Jenly may no longer be part of the Nantucket team. It's unfortunate but hope she finds bigger and better opportunities as I'm sure she will. She will definitely be a valuable asset to any team she joins. I lived here for a few years and in my time: I had my kitchen flooded with food, grease, water a few times because the upstairs neighbor didn't know how to use the sink disposal. I would come home from work and water/gunk would be everywhere including near electrical outlets in the kitchen (behind the stove). The plumbing is horrible at this complex. While 'fixing' a pipe under the sink, the hired plumbing vendor broke the pipe which created a constant leaking. Maintenance came to my place 4-5 times saying they had and could fix it but they weren't able to find the root of the problem. I had to hire my own plumber to identify the actual problem and replace the pipe. I had to fight to get management to pay for what came out to be only a portion of the bill. I paid most of the bill but at that point I didn't care - I just wanted it fixed. Mind you that the pipe was broken due to my upstairs neighbor jamming rice and grease down the kitchen pipe so no fault of my own to begin with. The area looks peaceful and is near a park - and the neighbors are by and large friendly and quiet. Mostly families. But the surrounding neighborhood is anything but safe. There were two sexual assaults reported in 2016 at neighboring complexes. My car got broken into in broad daylight at the nearby shopping area down the street from Nantucket. I never felt safe walking around after sunset. There are many suspect looking people roaming around this area. If you live at Nantucket, you must use your alarm system and lock all your windows and doors. Also any package with the word Amazon on it will get stolen. The apartments are not that nice inside. The laminate flooring is gross and peels or oozes glue. I had them replace the flooring in the kitchen but it oozed glue anyway. For all of the above concerns, this place is wayyyyy over priced. Not even close to what it's actually worth. Lastly, the front office management is by far the worst I've ever encountered. Long story short, it's been 3 months (yup that's right) and I still haven't received my security deposit. And I just got an email saying it's finally on its way again - but it's the wrong amount. The whole reason I needed it re-sent was because they screwed up the amount. Now this final issue is just the icing on the cake of a very long history of rudeness and screw ups. I experienced it with all the different managers but it has been the worst with the latest set. As stated in past reviews, Sabrina was probably the best manager but that was what.. two/three sets of mgrs before? I had very low expectations of the current mgrs and mounting concerns that by the time I moved out, I just knew they'd screw up the final step in this process: the security deposit. read more

Finally i made the inquiry and the response was I am busy with something and will be right with you.... no action for another 10 minutes. The area is beautiful. Our apartment was nice as it overlooked trees and the park. Apartments are nice/decent. Have been remolded but are not new. Not a very safe place to live for your high monthly rent. Our bikes were stolen off of the balcony after our first month living here. There were multiple apartments hit at the same time as per the police department. We wish would could have been informed by front office. Thank goodness we had renters insurance as the bikes were able to be replaced. Never felt very safe after. Have seen men walking around at 3/4 am as I work very early mornings. Gate has been broken numerous times and has stayed open for almost a whole week multiple times. Mail boxes were broken into. Parking is limited- if you have 2 cars most likely you have to park your second car outside the gates at night. Largest complaint- walls are thin- we heard the neighbors every night at 730 watching their tv with surround sound. We did complain to the office multiple times, but it never stopped. Maintenance was average, our smoke detector had a low battery and was beeping all night and called to have help fixed as we have 15ft vaulted ceilings, the man did not come until next day. Paint is cheap- Any white gloss paint in these apartments peel. We do not have children or pets- just my husband and I. I wish they could have worked with us on our last month lease as we are buying a home and needed a place to stay for one month. Monthly rent is $1000 more per month on top of regular rent for month to month- It would have been helpful to negotiate as a business to keep us for one extra month at our regular rent instead of trying to up charge- as we have already been here for almost 1 1/2 years. I spoke to the main manager to see if we could negotiate and she was not helpful or willing to compromise. I wish there was a review detailed on Yelp when we moved in a year and a half ago as we did not see much Yelp reviews before and that's the reason we chose this complex. read more

Okay, so I lived at this apartment for a little less than 3 years. Initially, was quite happy - great front desk guy who always helped, good maintenance, noise wasn't too loud, etc. Then, in the last two months I was there, a few strange things happened... 1) huge delays in getting my toilet clogs fixed... I only had one toilet and it was "low flow" (aka clog-prone) so you can see why this would be a problem. This happened many times, and want to know the reason? The management - who can only take maintenance orders via email or In person - had conveniently forgotten to notify maintenance... Repeatedly! 2) during the annual apartment check, I just happened to be undressed. They knocked and came in! I pushed against the door and asked them to come back in 5 min. They refused!?!? And said it had to done immediately and they were coming in. I grabbed a robe and had to let them inspect. I tried reaching their management, the apartment owners, the district managers to complain and nobody returned my call. I had less than two months left and so I immediately put in my 30 day notice, even though they made me a good offer to stay for another year. 3) move out time: I was charged for everything that they could stiff on me. Ok, light cleaning I understand. But they also charged me for the 4 absolutely clean stovetop drip pans, the kitchen sink trays and disposal stoppers, and get this - those door stop springs on the walls. All added up to not a lot of money but when you put it all together, it's enough to make you not want to recommend this place to your enemies, much less your friends. read more

Nantucket Apartments has been a very enjoyable place to live. Not only is it quiet, safe and beautiful but is close to all freeways and is in an area that has both good food and entertainment. Seriously, you are not far from Santana Row, Valley Fair, Stanford Shopping Center, Vallco Mall, McCarthy Ranch and The Great Mall in Milpitas. The complex is also close to the light rail. Additionally, the complex is directly across the street from many trails for running and/or walking and is animal friendly. The apartments have washer & dryers in each unit, include dry cleaning services, did a tenant bbq right when I moved in and has a great pool, sauna and outdoor bbq for tenant use. While it has not been often that I have needed help, I always find either maintenance or property managers readily available. Ryan has been particularly helpful but all employees provide great service. Parking is unbelievably good as, outside your own assigned spot/s, there are way too many other spots open to use and is gated with security. Apartments also have alarm systems for your protection should you feel the need. I have not activated mine only since I am super comfortable with the tenant population and the area in general. I just do not feel the need to activate the alarm, but can if so desired. The online services provided by Nantucket have also proved to be another good service. Of importance is also the fact that, with the many upscale apartments locally, Nantucket has proven to be very competitive with rent prices. I have a great view of the pool with the many windows my apartment has and feel my rent is fair considering the unit, the view, the security and proximity to my job. I'm also a workout fanatic and belong to 24 hour fitness. That being said, Nantucket also has a great gym and the benefit is I can work out in the complex if running late or coming home late. I also run 3 times per week and use the trails right across the street from the complex and have mapped out a nice 4 mile run. Also, there is an internet room to work, like your own office, and a pool table for your entertainment. Lastly, in 2014 I will be able to walk to the new Levi Stadium to watch my beloved 49ers!! I couldn't be happier with my experience here at Nantucket Apartments. read more

i've lived at nantucket for a year and moving to be closer to bart, not because of dissatisfaction. although there have been several staff changes during my lease, everyone has been super nice and communicative. the people who moved on actually got promotions, which is nice to see. both doug (the previous property manager) and sabrina (current) were willing to work with me and negotiate on lease terms. ryan has been the constant, provides excellent customer service, and is great with my dogs. the remodeled first floor units have laminate flooring except in the bedroom. one model has a bit more square footage as it doesn't have a fireplace. the entire complex is being redone. prices reflect that tech is definitely back: there are a number of corporate apartments here. that may drive up pricing along with the fact the cross street is a google route. you have the basic amenities: pool, hot tub, gym, etc. a dry cleaning service does regular pick up & drop off. there's an after hours patrol. also, there is on-site maintenance. when my toilet overflowed at 11:00 p.m., maintenance was here within 15 minutes! the community is gated with assigned parking. the southern side doesn't seem to have as much guest parking as the north, but my guests have always been able to find parking. the complex is adjacent to lick mill park, across the street from ulistac nature area, less than mile from light rail, a mile from rivermark, and a short drive to the airport and downtown san jose. the only negative is the complex lies in the flight path of the airport. yes, you may hear planes. the biggest disappoint was i couldn't get directv as both a carport and a tree blocked the signal. despite those two items, my stay here has been positive, and i'm sad to be leaving. read more

Good apartments, but BAD management and staff. We were drawn in by the upgrades compared to other complexes, but the management staff in the leasing office is incompetent. During the application process, it was clear the three staff in the office do not communicate with each other or share information, which led to a week long application process of will-we-or-will-we-not-be-approved. One week, really? It should take one day. When we finally showed up to get the keys, the mail box keys weren't ready. No big deal. But the agent gave us the wrong gate code and mail box location. It took me another two trips to the office in person and asking all three people what the right gate code was and where exactly our mail box was (it's on the opposite side of the property from our apartment, so not intuitive). Once we moved in, I requested a maintenance service. The process is to submit a request on line, after which they promise for someone to be in contact to schedule the service. Twice I got no response. Off to the office again I went to ask about the status after a week. I was given a slew of excuses as to why they were behind in maintenance requests. It wasn't urgent, so take your time, but please acknowledge you got the request and will schedule it! Overall, a nice place to live, but the staff is useless. I don't like giving them my business for this reason and have referred others away from here because of it. read more

EDIT 04/04/16: They put a scale in the men's and women's restrooms. Apparently the old scale broke, and Greystar has strict specifications for what they're allowed to replace it with. There is also a bike rack by the car wash area now. Still, no communication about any of this with the residents. We moved into Nantucket about 2 years ago. Back then, they were under different ownership (Riverstone Residential)- and it was GREAT. The management team was friendly and responsive. Our community had great amenities and felt warmer. About a year ago, they were sold to Greystar Real Estate Management and have gone downhill fast. Where to start? Our management team and office staff left- Sabrina moved to Sacramento and the other office staff quickly followed suit, heading to other companies or all new jobs. The new management and office staff is SO unfriendly. I've walked into the office to drop off rent and they haven't even acknowledged me. One person just looked at me blankly when I walked in until I told her what I needed. Not a "hello," "hi," "good morning," or "can I help you." Nothing. Our bike rack has disappeared, as has the scale in the gym. The office is frequently not open when it's supposed to be- either opening after or closing before opening hours. They don't work with residents at all. The lease stipulates that you can't use the back porch for storage, which is reasonable. Cardboard boxes and clutter can draw pests. But they're now saying you cannot store your bikes or strollers on your back porch. They are also rescinding on an email sent out just a few months ago that said storing a collapsed/folded stroller below the stairwells was acceptable for people on the second or third floors. They must be inside your unit. They're also banning hanging plants from the railing of your porch, as well as hummingbird feeders (native wildlife, anyone?), or any decorations AT ALL, and are starting to send out fines (as well as a community-wide email to everyone threatening eviction) to anyone who is in violation. We've also had several issues with mailboxes being broken into. It took two serious offenses before they changed the mailboxes out. People have been robbed and no notice sent out to residents (found out on our "Resident Portal" blog/wall from the victims, not the staff), and outside lights are frequently out/broken for days after being reported as broken. The gates are often broken as well. With Levi's so close, it just gives opportunistic people the chance to park in the complex and walk over without having to pay for parking. I cannot tell you how disappointed I am by all these changes. The only redeeming factor is the maintenance staff (A+ service!) and the fact that the units themselves are very nice. I really loved living here before, but now I'm looking at alternatives once our lease expires. read more

I have lived in Nantucket apartments with my young boys for over two years. In addition to the excellent location and nice amenities, the management here is second to none. Angelina is the manager. Time after time she goes the extra mile to make living there a great experience. Also, the events that she organizes bring a great sense of community. I would highly recommend living here.
