Yes, I understand that some people have off days, that they may be working several jobs or may be tired, but being in the front office means having a positive attitude. She did not. Grumpy, impatient, distracted--I specifically asked her not to fill my prescription at the awful RiteAid next door but guess where it went... Poorly managed facility. I went to this location for pre-op clearance. I paid cash for this visit and was denied a refund for blood work after stating I no longer was interested in sending it out following an "abnormal EKG". Upon arriving a "scribe" started the visit to ask about my PMH and purpose for the visit. I specifically raised concerns that I DID NOT want to start with blood work, that I would much rather start with an EKG; that way if something abnormal came up I would cancel my surgery. I must have expressed this at least five times. He proceeded to tell me that there's no real protocol and that we would start with the labs. My vitals weren't even taken: any health care professional knows to start the visits with vitals to avoid any falsely high blood pressure or heart rate. Labs were drawn and the the physician came in; no true physical was performed except Dr. Ihemaguba listening to my heart and lungs. No abdominal palpation, no evaluation of anything really. Fine. They send the EKG tech in (after hours of waiting) who was super sweet but continuously apologizing for the super Long wait due to short staffing (more than 3 hours, arrived at 240 and left at 6:17). She has a very hard time getting a reading with the EKG, the machine wasn't registering and the lines were flat until she got help from another person. PRIMITIVE EKG machine. She said it wasn't working because of my bra, so I removed it. The EKG read as low voltage; the EKG is now abnormal. Big surprise. When the doctor came in to tell me about the "abnormal" EKG he countered my being upset with anger and talked down to me like I was his child. Listen, had we had some ORDER you could have told me initially that my EKG was abnormal and sent me on my way. But 4 hours and $586 later it's "oh well, we aren't clearing you until you see cardiology and we are still sending the labs". Now I have to spend $$ on seeing a cardiologist ? Then refund me my labs that were sitting in the back still. Calling the manager yielded no results; she said that "by law, the labs had to be sent out". I would love to see what law exists; if someone refuses to have results sent there is a HUGE liability for the facility As you are now violating a patients rights. Akimi was very short and "sorry I can't help you". The end. Had anyone of them been in my Position they too Would have asked for a refund. This facility is poorly managed and poorly staffed. They open late (a line formed at the locked door at 9am) The providers are few (there was one on staff during prime sick season -December 23) The representatives are not trained in courtesy and professionalism The pharmacy never received my prescriptions so I had to go to another doctor AFTER i had already been seen here. I had called and called and called and was unable to get a provider or rep to actually send the prescriptions to my pharmacy (the rep kept assuring me that they would). Less than stellar experience. I had traveled to Georgia recently and as a precursor to returning back to work, I needed a rapid COVID-19 test. StatCare is one of the few in the entire city, which offers the test. I secured an appointment for a Monday at 9am using the online portal. The day of the appointment, I was advised that they needed to push back the appointment to 11am due to a high volume of patients; no problem. I walk in at 10:50am, and there is a long line. Despite the fact that there is a sign on the door which says, no more than certain number of people inside - there is a growing line and no one enforcing it. I stand on the line anyway. There is ONE receptionist checking people in. She looks overwhelmed and flustered. She does not make any announcement of appointments versus walk-ins, she just talks to everyone as they reach the window. I see some people signing in on a kiosk and others signing a sheet at the reception desk. It was so unorganized. I eventually walk off the line and to the window to ask her. She says to sign in on a sheet and have a seat because there is a 2-3 hour wait for walk-ins, and about an hour wait for appointments BUT she's really not sure. WHAT!? Absolutely absurd. On top of that, their other locations were sending people there to get tested, and those people thought they could just walk-in but, nope. They were met with long wait times and frustration. I understand that the pandemic poses a risk to everyone and that we must take precautions however, as a medical facility, cutting staff to the point where it impacts customer service and social distancing, is really pointless to me. You are doing a disservice to the public, if anything. After 1.5hours, I was finally seen and had my test taken. Another 20 minutes and I received my result and left. The medical staff member did not say much to me; just asked a few questions, took some vitals and told me to wait out front. The test cost me $100. Insurance does not cover it. I had opted to have my sample used for the conventional nasal swab test as well but never heard anything. I feel like a good medical facility should send out a follow-up email regarding results. I would never return or recommend this facility to anyone regardless of rapid test or other services. Although CityMD does not offer the rapid test, they do a way better job and they are right across the road. read more

Went to this storefront clinic in Bartow Ave., to get a Rapid Covid Test. This very rude, thin young brown skin girl charges me a co-pay of $50.00 dollars? Why do you have to pay for a free test? Horrible customer service ( fake red headed woman) at the front desk with the worst attitude I have ever experienced. Very short and confrontational with more then one patient while I was there. Had an appointment for 3pm and was not seen until 5:15pm. First and last time I will ever use their services and mind you I was paying out of pocket for my covid rapid test. I had a wonderful experience. My medical benefits finally kicked in and I needed my medication but where to go? I've had so many horrible experiences with doctors in the past I did not want to go to another one. Dr. Liang is the first doctor in my entire life who listened to what I said and asked me about my medication. I'm never going back to a General Practioner. Do not go to Starcare for the green card medical exam. In 2018, I did my GC physical through them, and they gave me the results in a sealed package. When I went for my GC interview in 2019, the immigration officer told me the results of the medical exam were inconsistent because some of the dates were not correct and had to redo them. It took me over a week to get a hold of someone that could look into my results to understand what was wrong with it. And once the error was identified they had told me that the error was easy to fix by having the doctor re-adjust the dates. They said they would give me a call back once the doctor made the amendments, however, they never called me back so I had to call them back again. They then said I had to go to the clinic and redo the bloodwork . After redoing the bloodwork, I come back in another week and they mess up again because they can't get the correct dates on the tests and have to redo another bloodwork. It has been about 4 weeks and I still do not have my results. It is very irresponsible for a clinic to have the accreditation of doing green card medical exams but they fail to provide results. I would not recommend going to Statcare at all because if they can't follow through with a simple green card physical, I wouldn't trust them with my health. read more

My instincts told me to leave when I realized the clock struck 9 am and the doors of the facility were still locked. A line was forming. The provider walked in around 9:15 am. The receptionist had a leaking eye- which is gross- but she was there... and seemed to be the only one who was scheduled to work the desk during a time of year when many people are sick and the facility needs additional assistance. Anywho- I had prior to arriving, made an appointment online that nobody cared about when I arrived. We all waited for the provider to arrive (there was only one - and she was late) then we all waited in the order in which we signed in. I saw the provider (who was very patient in explaining her theory of my illness). However, the facility did not have the mechanisms to test my tonsils. So the provider was unable to diagnose me with anything (why am I here?). I asked her to at least prescribe some pain meds for me. She said"gladly" but never did. I called and called and called the facility from the pharmacy , from my home and even had my friends call when I could no longer call (from being in so much pain ) - the phone rep kept saying that the facility has and will put in the prescription for pain meds. Of course, 5 days later- no prescription was received by the pharmacy and the rep changed the story. Now - I would have to go BACK into the facility to get pain medication prescribed for me. Instead, I went to another doctor (and paid another copay) to get some relief. Please- there are so many other urgent care places to go- DO NOT GO HERE!!! read more

You have to call a number that connects you to this location and it is impossible to get through. I called at 11, waited 35 minutes and the rep said everyone at the location is on lunch so call back after 3. They're pretty good once you get into the exam room to see the doctor. Some of the patients coming in don't wear their masks properly and if they have young children, they have no masks on either. The smoke alarm battery is constantly beeping every 30 seconds and it's been doing that for as long as I've been coming here. I had an appointment and was stuck waiting close to 2 hours to be seen. While I was there, I saw someone with a sprained ankle sent away to CityMd even though this is supposed to be an urgent care facility. This place doesn't take straight NYS Medicaid. 4 years ago, I went in for a colonoscopy with 12:30pm appointment and didn't get out until 5:30pm. They kept taking others ahead of me. I arrived at 10am and got stuck there all day. They also do Covid-19 rapid testing and vaccinations. When you go in as a walk-in, they don't let you know about the actual wait time or about the Medicaid. Another thing, the staff behind the window doesn't wear their masks properly either or reinforce the patients wearing their's either. read more

I paid $150 to get my COVID test result because I'm traveling. If you're taking my money for express service then you must efficiently provide the service. I was advised to come back for my results and that it'll be ready within 24hrs only to be sent back that my result is still not ready so I should download online by 8pm. Where would I be able to print my document at 8pm where printer stores are closed and my flight is at 6am the next morning? And why will you advice me to come to the office foe my results when you can't even print it in time? Especially when I'm paying $150 fir this service? Last time I went here the doctor I saw refused to treat me because and I quote he "wasn't the primary care doctor". I was under the impression that a significant part of the point of urgent care was to get medical attention when you couldn't be seen by a primary care doctor soon enough. Facility is excellent, the doctor I dealt with was excellent as well. My only concern, as someone who works in healthcare, is there is no supervision for the front receptionists. 2 out of the 3 were unprofessional, but particularly stood out. The one who sat in the middle (brown/blondish hair) is not someone you want representing your company. Very inappropriate, was busy laughing watching videos (took her a minute to acknowledge me because she was busy watching the internet) and the conversation (sexual content) in front of patients was so unprofessional. Luckily no patient information was discussed in front of me, otherwise I would have reported it for HIPAA violation. Perhaps some training and development will help. read more

TURN AROUND, DON'T GO IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!!!!!!! Do not go here unless you want your time wasted. My daughter and I went after seeing the banners all over Co-op City stating Rapid Result Covid Testing was available. We went in person as walk-ins (because CityMD had a callback waitlist) and after about 30 minutes of no information found out we had to scan a QR code on the reception glass to receive a call back for an appointment because they were booked for the day. We left and did receive a return call for 2 appointments of 4:55 and 5:05 respectively. We returned at the appointed time and after another 30 minutes of complete chaos and confusion their computer system went down and I told the receptionist I was cancelling both appointments and had no intention of paying their $50 cancellation policy. She told me to write both our names down and I did with a lengthy explanation as to why we were leaving, detailing the Co-op City StatCare location and took a picture of it before giving it to her. Luckily we got called back from CityMD and were in and out in less than an hour with a rapid test and results!!! I came home called back the StatCare phone number at 6:00 and again at 8:00 being told both times the patient coordinator would call me back in 5 minutes, I'm still waiting and it is now 9:00. I will be calling my credit card to alert them if StatCare has the audacity to charge me I will be disputing the charge and I will be sending them the picture of my detailed note as proof!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

My toddler went here and received antibiotics for an abscess growth. Now i am NOT a doctor. I did NOT go to medical school for 10 plus years.. so I would like to think a doctor would know how to give out the correct dosage and frequency when it comes to medication. (So for example: if a patient has dysphagia where they have difficulty swallowing) I would absolutely ASSUME that the medical professional would know NOT to provide the patient their medication is hard to swallow medication. Because they have difficulty swallowing. So I stupidly expect for a doctor to know when handing out medication to a toddler he would have the intelligence to administer the medication during hours a child would be awake. I would have to wake him up feed and administer his meds at 6am and last dose at 12am. I kindly called around 11:30am. I kindly explained the "simple" mistake. I was promised a call back. It is now going on 8pm. I had to call back again!!! I will absolutely say they don't give a shit about anything but being able to charge your insurance. How incompetent and stupid I find this doctor. I pray he doesn't make a mistake on someone else prescription. I guess I write this to say that regardless if they are doctors you HAVE To question them and make sure your prescription s written properly or god forbid they give out the wrong medication in general.
