The clerk started by saying he could not accept the items because the Alabama store was nit a corporate store. There was no store number on the receipt. I was forced to call the AL. Store to get their store number. While I was at the counter the clerk took three phone calls and completed their orders while he left me standing there. The receipt I had showed I paid with cash. He said he only had $100.00. I offered to only return two items today. He made some phone calls and they decided he could do the refund. In the process of doing the refund he said he couldn't do it because I was given a discount. I left the store.

On the flip side, I asked for a part for my car, and the associate went and grabbed it for me, but was not very helpful in explaining how to install it, or at least providing me resources to find out how I could do so. Luckily, there was another customer who was able to help me, but that really should have been the employee's job. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but this wouldn't be the first auto parts store I'd go to next time.

The manager came outside and checked it out for me and was just super informative and told me how to go about fixing it and answered all my questions about it. After that I mentioned that my brake light was out and he offered to take a look at it and helped change it for me! They really go above and beyond and are super helpful here!!! 10/10 :-)

The VSC light, Anti-lock brake light, Power-steering light and word BRAKE showed up on my dashboard 3 weeks ago, so I took my Toyota to the dealership Midlands Toyota on Killian so they could tell me what was going on. After charging me $167 to run the diagnostic test, they told me that the Brake Master Cylinder and brake booster pump assembly needed replacing to the tune of $4,400. I asked the representative if this was covered under recall or warranty. He said no. I called later that same day to Midlands Toyota to ask the same question in hopes of getting another representative who would actually look. I was told no--it wasn't covered and that I'd have to come out of pocket for the cost. I called a family friend and mechanic and he recommended Chapman's Auto Tech. I went over there and talked to Mike. I showed him the diagnostic from the dealership and asked what would they charge me to replace these parts. He gave me a lower estimate for the total job. Not only that, Mike and Robert (the owner) told me that they have a year warranty on parts AND labor. I left my car with Chapman's Auto Tech. While waiting for the parts to come in, I got a call back from Chapman's. Robert asked me if I was sitting down. He told me that Mike took the time to do some digging and made phone calls to Toyota. Sure enough, the whole job WAS COVERED under the warranty. He found it written plain as day in the Customer Support Program. It seems to me that someone at Midlands just wanted to skim $4000+ from me instead of doing their job and honoring their own Customer Support Program. Chapman's Auto Tech could have done the same, but these guys actually mean what they say when it comes to customer satisfaction and being an honest business. Chapman's has been in business over 32 years. Seriously, if you have car troubles in the Columbia Midlands area, try Chapman's Auto Tech first. They really are good guys. It is refreshing to know there are still honest auto repair companies out there!
