My partner caught a flat tire not too far from the shop and decided to go there to have it repaired upon entry. She knew that it would be a place that I would absolutely love so I went back a few weeks later and had my tire repaired! Customer service is absolutely amazing! upon entering, it is a plant oasis. I'd still give Minnie's 5 stars because they care enough about the experience you have there while they take care of your car and you by default. They hands down are extremely empathetic and caring. My second visit happened bc I had a check engine light come on in my 2013 Prius V. Took it to Minnie's bc I was so impressed w the first visit which was just a basic oil change. This was on a Monday and they were booked til Friday so I set the appointment and came back later. They did a full inspection and determined the issue was a failing coolant pump on the electric side. They said they found no leaks etc.They detailed what the issue was and what the fix was. I'm definitely impressed w how they break down what they do into digestible bite sized bits for non-car folks. They offered I could pick up the car and pay the diagnostic/inspection fee of $50. Said they didn't have the high voltage equipment to work on the car and advised go to a specialist. Lucky for me I do have one ( Woodards in Florence, I just moved here from there. ). They work on hybrids and electric so I took it there. The only grip I'd have is that I did ask if Minnie's handles hybrids. I believe I was told yes and the person ( the owner ) stated they drive a hybrid Camery. Maybe I should have said "work on the electric side of hybrids bc I could have dropped it at Woodards 60 miles away but I'd rather pump money into a reliable, friendly place. Not sure I'll be back. I'd still highly recommend if you drive an ice car tho. The staff and ambiance of the place cannot be beat. read more

Though they were booked far in advance, my truck was ready two days earlier than expected. And, no attempt to upcharge me via services non essential. What can I say about Minnies Auto, that wouldn't sound hyperbolic and instead convince you to swing by and give them a shot at your business? I've been going there now for almost a year. Oil changes, brake work, most recently a battery change. The work done was great, with high-quality customer service and fair prices. But you could find all those statements on any other auto repair shop review, so here's the difference... I really enjoy going there. The atmosphere is relaxed, the people there are approachable and friendly. Talking about my car's needs is like talking to a concerned friend rather than a mysterious expert looking to book your business. Minnies Auto does good work, plain and simple. Over a decade as a happy customer -- all kinds of diagnostics and repairs done by competent people. I do appreciate we are all human - no one bats1000 100% of the time. But it's how you respond to your mistakes that show your honesty and integrity. Minnies is no longer the business we came to know and trust. It cost me more to fix what they did wrong in their 'repair' job. I tried to reach them for weeks to get them to schedule an appt to address the issues post repair since they like to say they stand by their work. After nearly a month calls and detailed voicemail going ignored - and the issues worsening to the point of safety being compromised, I ultimately had to get another shop to fix. Learned from that inspection and repair process that Minnies lied about the work they did- not only did they install the wrong parts, they installed a new part that had been broken, didn't service/lubricate it though it required it, didn't adhere to industry standards to install matched parts, sent me out without having a proper alignment multiple degrees off what it needed to be -- and let me drive off in that unsafe condition. Even when I showed them the unmatched, un-lubricated, broken parts used by their mechanic, their stance was to defend their shop/mechanic. Zero integrity. Gaslighting me for not letting them fix their work after they ghosted me for weeks -- but even now are only willing to reimburse me the cost of the broken, unmatched parts they used. Took my car in for an oil change and maybe some sort of a small leak. My car drove great.. the coolant warning would come on every few weeks- but still my car drove perfectly fine. I figured I would get in front of the issue at my next oil change. I spoke to Minnie's about the issue no problem. They kept my car for 3 days.. when I finally got it back the car back they said they couldn't fix it because they couldn't get the part but still charged me $85 to "diagnose".. Okay thats fine.. I understand. But then when I got back into my car there were warnings all over the place. It will not drive or even hold ANY coolant AT ALL. The shop took zero responsibility and even had the audacity to say I could tow it back to them out of my pocket. I will never recommend or return to this junk yard. read more

Two more great experiences from the very honest people at Minnie's! Suspected a sensor in the A/C: they confirmed and charged a very reasonable price for repair including evac & recharge. Suspected I needed a total brake overhaul. They said no, cleaned and adjusted in a few hours at another great price. They could have done the overhaul and I wouldn't have known I didn't need it. read more

Unfortunately we had a very poor experience at Minnie's Auto Repair. We are now working with lawyers to make amends. We had our car towed to Minnie's after it was overheating and needed a new water pump. After being quoted a bunch of different repairs totalling 1300 dollars we asked if just replacing the water pump would solve the issues at hand (totalling 600 dollars). They said yes so we proceeded. When we got our car back the check engine light came on and code read that the timing belt was misaligned (this was a piece they had to remove to get to the water pump). When we called and asked them to either repair or help pay for the cost of the extra 600 dollars we would have to pay at another place to get it put back on properly, they refused to work with us at all and dismissed us. Now we have had to pay 600 dollars for Minnie's Repair and 600 dollars to another auto shop to fix what they did incorrectly. Please consider looking elsewhere for an honest and trustworthy car repair. read more

I went to Minnie's for an oil change this morning after hearing about this female run business on COLAToday. I made an apt online (you get a $5 discount if you do so) and received a call shortly after to confirm my apt. I went in this morning and was kindly welcomed by the woman at the front desk. There was a female mechanic explaining a diagnostic to another customer in the lobby, she had the car part in her hand . The lobby smelled lovely with candles burning. The furniture was very comfortable, HGTV was on, I got a fair trade coffee from the Kurig, a few fancy home decor magazines, and could have stayed there all day! The bathroom was clean and comfortable with a heavy weighted door and secure lock. They brought out my air filter to not just tell me, but show me I needed a new one. They were finished with my oil change in 45min. read more

I'll be honest, we broke up with our old shop in Chapin after the owner started behaving like a total f****** douchebag on Facebook. Anyway... Thank god we found Minnie's. They're good people. They get the job done quickly, and I know enough about automotive work to know that their prices are very fair. You won't get taken for a ride here. Had the loudest squeeking brakes, took it in to get worked on just to be told there is no issue at all with it. Every time stopping at an intersection it's the loudest I've heard squeezing brakes be in my life and after leaving them with it, they say there wasn't an issue with it. After a huge complaint they're saying the brakes are dried out. read more

My wife took her car here for a water pump replacement. Ten minutes after getting the car back, the check engine light came on. We had it diagnosed by our mechanic at home (we broke down in Columbia and had to drive back) and it turned out that the timing belt (which they had to remove and put back on) was put on incorrectly. After calling them and describing the issue, Sarah was dismissive and ended up hanging up on us. Our mechanic at home (30+ years of experience) showed us the timing belt and stated that a timing belt of its age would never become misaligned by itself. Very dishonest, would not recommend. This set us back approx $1300 in total since we had to get it properly repaired after the fact. We are currently working with our lawyer to sort out this situation. I would stay away from this place and find another local, more honest garage around. read more

The customer service at Minnie's was exceptional. I forgot an essential piece of paperwork that auto body shops need to work on the car. Rather than turn me away, Sarah called several different people to research the information needed. If you aren't a mechanic yourself, taking a car to the shop can be confusing and intimidating. This mechanic is so helpful and polite. They previously fixed an annoying rattle on my friends Jeep Cherokee 2006. It started rattling again (drivers shaft - not good) took it in and they found a broken bracket. They fixed this for free!!!! We also mentioned how the windscreen wiper fluid wouldn't work, they took a quick look and said the tube was pinched my something within the hood. Again fixed this for free because it was minor! Horrible customer service and horrible communication. They had my car for six weeks and never called with update on my vehicle, I had to call them. I paid $2,000 and got my car home only to have check engine light back on after one day!! Mind you my car only has 50,000 miles on it. Would not recommend minnie's auto, not even to put air in your tires. read more

This place is incredible. I've been multiple times for everything from breaks, rotors, bulbs, and splash guard replacement. They always try to find parts secondhand to save you money and never overcharge for labor which I really appreciate. I recommend them to all of my friends. read more

I had taken my car to several different places including the Toyota dealership because I knew I had an oil leak and when I tried to start my car it was a delay, I felt something was wrong in the fuel part of my car. However, nobody listened to me. They did "guess" fixing which ended up costing me a stupid amount of money and the same problems I was having when I first started out in my journey to fix my car. So FINALLY, I decided to take it to Minnie's as I had some experience with the people who work there. They spent two days looking my car over from bumper to bumper to see what the problem was. They did no guessing, they did their job!! They replaced the fuel pump after they ruled out everything else that could possibly be wrong that wouldn't cost as much. However, as I though MONTHS ago, it was the fuel pump. They also fixed the oil leak and a few other little things on my car that needed attention. The communication was GREAT and EVERY.ONE there was super nice! So, my suggestion to you is instead of going to other shops, you just cut to the chase and go to Minnie's, they actually CARE not only about your car and you, they care about your "pocket book" I can't say Thank you to them enough.
