I have been a customer for 2-3 years now, every car that I've owned at a time and brought to this shop has always been treated with care, reliably maintained and fixed. Their prices are extremely fair in my personal honest opinion. I'm proud to say that Great Bear Auto is honestly the most trustworthy mechanic shop I know in Queens. I consider them family now. Their determination to fix an old car like mine is rare and greatly appreciated. I will genuinely always hold Great Bear Auto with high regards for so many reasons. John cares just as much as I do to make sure my car is well taken care of. Carrie knows how to get quick results, Joe and the rest of the team deserve great praise for all their hardwork. I was at work all day and stopped in 15 minutes before closing. This was on Friday December 12 2025 at around 6:45pm. When I arrived Jordan was so helpful and I immediately knew he was the one I had spoken to over the phone. He came outside to the car and checked the battery with the diagnostic scanner and said I needed a new battery. After I purchased my new battery he also helped me with changing the battery which was so helpful because my car was stalling and there was no way I would've been able to do it myself. I was also able to get a discount for turning in the old battery which was a win situation. I appreciate everything these gentleman do. It's nice to know that there are still good people in this world.

We chatted things up for a while as he helped me find the correct bulbs i was looking for. We sort of spoke in length for quite a while. Thankfully there wasn't anyone else there who needed assistance. This guy is a teacher here in town at one of the local schools. Some of his stories were great. His customer service is stellar and he shows that he really cares to help you out where needed. I could speak volumes on how over the top this guy is. The service you receive here at Napa with this guy especially is to notch. They get it and they do it right compared to the other auto parts chain stores. Most of the workers don't seem to care at other chain auto parts stores as much as the employees at the Napa Auto parts do. The store itself is a well lit bright lights store. Easy to locate what you're looking for. They have their own private parking lot with plenty of spaces. Five stars for continuing to do it right and help your customers on a consistent basis. I went to get my van repaired and the job was done very sloppy. they drilled out a part but didn't…read moreremove all of the debris so it started giving my engine problems . when I took it to the dealership the found debris in the motor coming from the same area where the part they replaced because they had to replace it again. so when I came back to present them the paperwork from the dealership where it states the debris that was in the space from the part they replaced from the drilling they did to replace it caused engine damage, they told me they will not help me and declined wrong dueing. very unprofessional. Helpful in finding the proper wiper blades needed. Recommended that I buy the more expensive ones (of course), but in the end he was right. While checking out, I mentioned I was a Boston fan. The man serving me was so excited he yelled profanity at his co-workers. I don't find myself being a prude, but this was a bit unprofessional. Just felt like the guy was perpetuating a stereotype of mechanic types and Boston fans. Oh well... would go back for simple auto parts needs... A bit pricey, but it is the New York area...

The drivers side headlight on my Honda had clouded over so bad that when the passenger side…read moreheadlight burned out, at night it seemed like I had no headlights at all. As I was pulling into the Ralphs shopping center at Redondo & Anaheim in Long Beach on March 9th, I saw Bobby polishing the headlights of a car. I asked him the price, $15 per headlight, and then had him do his thing to my clouded over headlight. 15 minutes later, the headlight looked as good as new, crystal clear. Bobby is a retired longshoreman who takes his services to your location. If you stand and watch the process, you can ask him about his 22 story fall from a crane down into the water below. I had been looking for some way to get my headlight working properly for some time and all I found before this was $30-$50 for someone to do the work per side or a $30 DIY kit at the auto parts store (good for two headlamps).
