We've gone to several mechanics, and each told us something different including: you need a new transmission, you need a transmission flush, you need to replace the oil pump, your coolant is leaking in a bunch of places so to fix it all you need to pay $1,000. Our car only cost $900 to begin with. Today, I went to AutoZone just to buy some more coolant and then Adam asked what kind of car I had. I told him a Buick LeSabre. He asked if I had a 3400 engine, but I didn't know the number on the engine. He was extremely helpful in grabbing the exact kind of coolant that I needed and knew just where it was in the store which was nice since I had a fussy baby. He also went with me to the car, I opened my engine cover, and lo and behold, I had a 3400 engine. He let me borrow a funnel since I was having a little difficulty filling up the coolant and also explained to me that the coolant problem was typical with that kind of car and it is not necessarily because there is an issue with the coolant, but a problem with the intake gasket. He has saved us so much time and money for just being kind and knowledgeable!!!! I'm so grateful and I think I will never shop at any other car shop ever! I just got home and googled it and found this article which confirms my cars "symptoms" and everything he said. And I just came in for coolant. I cannot afford to wait for service for an hour only for someone to finally come and say they couldn't get me in for another two hours. This service is not ok. Especially when there are so many people waiting, someone should be present.
