Only giving this 4 stars because I didn't try any of the wine (I was sick but still wanted to hang out with friends haha) BUT when I go back and try it I'll see if my rating changes. My friends and I decided to wine hop around Napa and someone from another winery recommended that we stop by here and we really liked it!! We ended up getting the cheese platter and my friends did the wine tasting. The cheese platter was very good and worth the price (I think $20?) AND you got to keep the platter which was a nice extra bonus. We ended up getting TWO cheese platters because we liked it so much! LOL. My friends did like the wine but I think compared to the other places that we went to they preferred the others. The place itself was very cute although I wished that there were bar stools or more seating! We didn't get to explore the outside too much because it was raining that day but from looking outside the doors/windows it looked nice. Hoping that I can come back to try the wine and to eat more cheese! read more

This is our first stop for Wine tasting after we had lunch, we got the voucher from Welcome Center. They have 2 for 1 wine tasting, basically mean you pay one people price by having 2 people for wine tasting. This is totally cool since me and my sister can't have too much wine, we both shared one and my hubby got one glass for himself. We had Napa Cellars Reserve $30. We had 4 type of wines: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Carbenet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The red wine and white wine are taste good with nice scent. We're really enjoying ourselves, as we can go outside to have nice scenery of Vineyards. We also took a lot of pictures here. It wasn't crowded at all. And actually this is our second time for my sister and me to be here, I am glad that we come back here again. The staffs were nice and friendly here, they patiently introducing their wines and what to pair of. This is a good place to stop by. I also see people picnic here, but I guess that's only allow for their reserve club members. read more

First off, this experience going to the winery wouldn't be nearly as great without Darcy, Darcy was an amazing host, who was able to describe each and every single wine that we tried in a way that made it into such an exponential experience. She was so knowledgeable and helpful when we wanted to purchase wine, take photos of us. And recommend places to eat. Couldn't ask for more in a hostess, she's amazing. She deserves an award! I LOVE this place! Fist time my wife and I went to Napa Cellars was the day we got engaged back in 2019, after that visit we became part of their wine club and we drive up to Napa at least once a month! Their wine is great, you can choose to from 4 different wine testings and you can buy any bottle they have on their menu. They don't serve food, so you can feel free to take your goodies and have a picnic there. The staff is something from another world! They are all amazing on what they do. She not only discussed and made our winetasting experience educational and fun, she also made it super fun for the kids. The kids even had a soda tasting with Coke, Diet Coke, Dr Pepper, and 7-Up. Another amazing visit to this beautiful winery! Napa Cellars quickly became a favorite of mine a few years ago, and this year I finally decided to pull the trigger on becoming a member. Darlene is the absolute sweetest: she gave us a quick history lesson about the place that I hadn't heard before, had awesome and informative recommendations / info about the wine, and even though she was balancing us and another table, she always made sure we were having a great time. We heard about Napa Cellars through the Wine Pass, and also were recommended the Cellar through a local wine expert, and had it on our Napa to-do list. So when we were referred to them by their sister winery, Sutter Home, we knew we had to go. We started our day in Northern Napa County and worked our way down, and ended at Napa Cellars. We met Darlene at the counter and loved her from the minute we met her! She gave us a brief intro to the winery and the flights, and we decided on getting one of the intro flights for $20 and one of the tastings at the next step up at $30. Such a great way to experience a variety of wines during a visit! And it was 2 for 1 with the Wine Pass as well! Darlene was so amazing teaching us about the wines and educating us about the region and why Napa produces such good wines.. she mentioned she was a former teacher and was so good explaining the wines.. she really stood out as one of our favorite winery guides in Napa! But their wines are not that great. At least not Napa-wine-tasting great. They lack depth and flavor. So the wines are more like pick-it-up-at-the-grocery-store, cheap-wine-night okay. 6/26/2016 - What a wonderful time! For the price of these wines, they are quite delicious! Their tasting room is small and it was plenty busy but somehow we were greeted by all three of the servers pouring wine. We found a little nook on the tasting bar and picked a pairing each. They have Menage a Trois, Folie A Deux, Napa Cellars and a Reserve. They range from $15 to $25 per flight/tasting. We decided to buy a bottle of the Folie A Deux, Pinot Gris and relax outside on their beautiful grounds. We sat underneath a tree with a nice seating area while the guys played corn hole. We met a lovely couple who ended up seating down and chatting with us. We had great views of the Oakville vineyards and the mountains. I could of stayed here for hours..... read more

What a surprise! One of the best stops of the day! The service was impeccable. It's the attention to details that just blew me away. We stopped in on a whim, for a quick tasting before lunch. Chuck, our host, was incredibly friendly, and even familiar enough with the our lunch destination to make recommendations. He was very knowledgeable about the wines on hand. Definitely get the Reserve tasting. It's a bit more, but it includes wines you won't otherwise get. These are limited productions not widely distributed. The wines are reasonably priced, and very good. Stop by and try a taste! read more

My parents have been going to Napa Cellars for years and it is one of their favorite wineries (even kept during the "purge" of their wine memberships). So when my friend wanted to have her bachelorette party in the Napa Valley, I recommended we go there. We made a reservation for 4 drinkers + 2 non drinkers (pregnant) and Darlene was our Tasting Room guide. She was amazing!!! Super knowledgeable and was able to make the wine more approachable, if you will, for those in the party that were new to wine tasting. Her backstories behind the wines were fascinating and engaging. The wines, the atmosphere, and the hospitality were fantastic (and the best out of the other wineries we stopped at). Side note, the bathrooms were fantastically warm on the rainy day we visited. read more

This place is a must! On a recent visit through wine country, my boyfriend and I were having a "fly by the seat of our pants" kinda day, on Valentine's Day no less, and I called Napa Cellars to see if they could accommodate a party of 2 without notice. They sure could and we were in the door tasting our first glass within minutes of calling. All the staff were WONDERFUL! Our sommelier, Darlene, was super knowledgeable about the wines and was so fun to talk with. She was such great company to just shoot the breeze, while we sipped our wine and munched on our charcuterie. As a local, she has the inside scoop on more great places to visit, and gave some great recommendations. I could tell how much she loves the Napa Valley and her job. The tasting prices vary, but they are all really affordable and well priced for the area. I bought a bottle of Petit Verdot for a friend, and I really wish I bought one for myself! Guess I'll have to go back... darn. If you're looking for a relaxed tasting experience, with knowledgeable people, and a good selection of great wines, this is your place. read more

After a stop at Addendum for lunch and Bouchon for some yummy pastries, we were ready for some wine tasting. We didn't have any specific wineries or wine tasting rooms in mind since we've been to Napa so many times. A quick search on Yelp told us that this place was nearby and we decided to stop in. *check in on Yelp for a free pour of a reserve tasting* We each had the $25 tasting which are wines that they only sell at their tasting room. It was red heavy which is something I'm not used to but hey, when in Rome... We started off with a Syrah based Rose which was light and refreshing. The other 3 reds included a cab, a malbec and a syrah. To be honest, nothing really stood out to me as I found the reds to not be bold enough for my liking. Checking in on Yelp gave me a free pour of their reserve Chardonnay which was light and fruity but I found it resembled more of a Sauvignon Blanc than a Chard. Service was good and it was nice to not have to make an appointment to do a tasting when many other tasting rooms require one now. I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars for the same reason others are - inconsistent service. Darlene is the star of the show. Me and my beautiful girlfriend opened up our membership with Darlene. Darlene shared beautiful wines with us and was highly knowledgeable. Darlene has a spirit that is a joy to be around. Unfortunately, our second visit wasn't Darlene. It was a younger gentlemen, who was a bit reserved (which is fine). However, he only allowed us to sample one glass of white wine each. My understanding was as members we get a complimentary tasting each. We ended up picking up our order and buying a bottle to share in the picnic area. This last time we went and was greeted by Darlene!!! She was so awesome! We were running behind in our wine tour for the day. We walked in 20 minutes before closing. Darlene honored our membership and gave us a full tasting in 20 minutes, which included our cheese board. Napa Cellars, please listen to your clients. I recommend a standard level of training across the board. Darlene would be a great instructor on client relations. Don't lose good clients for faulty employees. And hold onto Darlene! read more

This tasting venue is a little more casual compared to the others in Napa. It's also cheaper and more affordable for tastings as well ($10 for a flight). I thought the wine was just okay. I didn't have any favorites. I loved the venue though as it has an outdoor area where people were picnic-ing and hanging out. There were a couple of games as well like corn hole and a scenic view of the vineyard. Overall, it was a chill place to hang out and go for some affordable tastings. read more

We came here after reading the reviews claiming that this place allows for picnics and outside food. When we arrived asking if we could purchase a couple bottles of their wine to enjoy with food outside, the host coarsely denied us entry explaining that "this is a tasting room" and we needed to reserve a tasting to enjoy their facilities. He ended up recommending we go to a nearby park instead. The property looks lovely, but despite it being completely empty that afternoon, we were not even invited in to check it out or see their wine list (we might have even purchased a couple of their bottles and gone to the park!). So please be advised that this facility requires you to do a tasting - I would also call ahead of time to make sure you can bring outside food if you plan on having a picnic because the outdated reviews online contradicted our experience. A number of wineries in Napa will require you to do a tasting. If you're not looking to do a full on tasting but are willing to purchase a bottle to enjoy with your lunch, call ahead of time. We ended up finding a friendlier winery that let us buy a bottle (we ended up purchasing 3) and enjoy their picnic tables. read more
