In the interim I see that a number of people have left less than positive reviews. The common thread in many of these reviews seems to be office staff, not their work. I'm here to tell you that after five years I called them again to come to my house and give me an estimate to replace five more windows. Both ladies that helped me on the phone during the process were exemplary - extremely polite and helpful. The estimator that came to my house to measure was terrific, and the two installers that came to install the windows after they were manufactured were craftsman and true professionals! We couldn't be happier with the entire experience or the way we were treated by Javco from beginning to end. I will be the first one to say something negative in a review if I feel I was treated unfairly, rudely, or unprofessionally. There was absolutely none of that here, Javco remains the top of my list of window contractors!

However, as we discussed installation, he insisted that no ceiling brace would be needed when the weight-bearing wall was removed, and that " a couple of two by fours" was an acceptable alternative to the standard 4 by 10 inch header. When we insisted that both a temporary brace and header were essential, his bid increased by about 50%. Grant also told us that the only window manufacturer he used could NOT make a window with the coating we desired. He refused to even call and ask them, so we did, finding they were more than happy to meet our request, at no additional cost. We were relieved to have someone else do the install. BEWARE.

We spent $2,400 on this glass shower door for our brand new bathroom and I avoid using the shower because every time we do this is the amount of water that comes out. The technicians that come out are nice, but they did not provide a solution. We had glass shower doors we bought previously for our upstairs shower from Javco and there was never an issue, the doors had a tighter sealed closure. With these Decor glass doors I have to mop up every time we take a shower, I even use the hand shower on the side to start the shower to lesson the water but it still happens. It's our guest bathroom and it's embarrising to explain to guests to mop up or go in after they have showered to mop up the floor.

Judi came to give us an estimate to replace a bunch of old windows in our home at Dillon Beach. We…read moretook our time signing the contract, but eventually we were very pleased with the installation, and the windows look and work great, I think they are Simonton. After a year or so, which included some very heavy rains, we noticed some leaking around the top of one of the windows. We assumed there had been a problem with the installation, so we reached out to AWS. Apparently Judi has retired, and Kyle, her grandson (?) now runs the company. They sent a crew out, climbed up the ladders, pulled off some shingles, and discovered it wasn't a problem with their installation. The original home builders had put the copper flashing on top of the plywood sheathing, not under it. So the leak wasn't their fault, it was a preexisting condition. They replaced the flashing, and installed some additional waterproofing material and caulking, to get us through until we can have a contractor come and fix the root of the problem. Needless to say we felt bad their crew had to come all the way out, and ended up doing work on our house which was outside their original scope. We offered to pay them, but Kyle refused, and insisted he was happy to help us out, even though he wasn't obligated to do it. All in all we had a great experience dealing with them, and next time we need new windows we won't hesitate to call Kyle.
