If there is one business that is THAT good, it's Red Carpet Tours. My best friend from Australia, her brother, and I were all staying in Beverly Hills recently and they wanted more than anything to see the Hollywood Sign up close and to walk down the starry Walk of Fame. Not wanting to shell out $60 each way for a cab ride -- or a ridiculous amount for those stupid open-top hop on hop off tours -- by chance, I Yelped across Red Carpet Tours. Weirded out by all the filtered reviews, I called down to the concierge (at L'Ermitage... I trusted their opinion) (I am not a movie star nor wealthy in any way, mind you) to inquire about Red Carpet. "We use them ALL the time," they informed me. Done. The Michael that booked our tour on the phone was as charming and helpful as the other Michael that picked us up in the leather-seated awesome-mobile that took us to do WHATEVER WE WANTED on the 2-hour build-your-own-tour option we had chosen. He knew everything about every street we went down and every building we passed, so we got a lot more information than we had ever hoped for. He took us to do exactly what we wanted, and he also showed us the Chinese and Kodak theatres along the way to enhance the experience. He even went long on time, just so he could show us everything we wanted to see, let us take all the annoying pictures we wanted to take, and make sure we had an amazing experience. This tour was the highlight of our trip. I really hope my review isn't filtered so that Red Carpet Tours gets the love it deserves!!

We were all entertained, educated and enchanted by our caring tour guides, Vic and Julie. We stepped right into the magical worlds of Hobbiton, Rivendell, Lothlorien, Edoras, the Pellenor Fields, Fangorn Forest, Rohan and even Mordor. But, we also experienced the grandeur of New Zealand's diverse landscapes and peculiarities like bubbling mud pools, steaming forests, floating rocks and glowing worms as we wandered ("not all those who wander are lost") all over the peaceful countryside. It was nice to experience a taste of the local Maori culture as well. Of course, we were thrilled in the "Adventure Capital of the World" by the Zorb, four wheel driving, horseback riding, a helicopter aerial tour, jet boating and my personal favorite, the Flying Fox. I even had a 30 minute soak in a Polynesian Spa that cured my bursitis. We met so many wonderful people, stayed in so many charming hotels and ate so much scrumptious food. As Gandalf said "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us" and I am so, so glad that I decided to spend my time on an amazing adventure in Middle Earth, New Zealand with Red Carpet Tours.

I had some questions about booking time and our service dog and he personally called me, recommended the perfect start time and said he would love our dog to join us, he gets hospitality and customer service. We arrived at the starting point and were greeted by our host, Jeffrey. He is one of the nicest guys you can ever meet. He loaded us all in the luxury Mercedes van, stocked with waters/treats, and off we went. The tour is 5 hours, with a lunch stop at the famous Farmers Market. Time flies though! You'll go through the Hills for breathtaking views, visit Hollywood sign, get the tourist Hollywood experience (Chinese Theatre/Dolby Theatre/Walk of Fame), see movie studios, celebrity past/present homes, Rodeo Drive, and much more. The entire tour our guide, Jeff told us facts and stories about the different areas we visited. His knowledge and stories were worth the price of admission. This was the ultimate LA in a day tour. We had an amazing experience. Let me start off by saying I have done this tour twice in the past but my experience this time was great. Jody the new owner was our guide and we all left with a new outlook on the city of Pasadena and its Old Town history. Second, new locations were added since my last tour. OMG! We had Sipping Chocolate & Venezuelan Chicken Empanadas from Amara Cafe, Chicken Wraps & Pickles from Sincerely Syria, Samosa's & Veggie Pakora from Tibet Nepal House, Garlic Naan, Curry Chicken & more from New Delhi Palace, Scones & Two Pots of Delicious Teas from Chado Tea Room. The Chado staff also gave us a complimentary Iced Hibiscus Tea to try. Last but not least we had wonderful Chocolate Candy from Mignon Chocolate. We were even allowed time to shop for goodies in the great Old Town specialty stores. There is plenty of parking in a garage less than five minutes from the starting point. She told us the history of the market and the surrounding area and then took us through the market to sample of the top places. My daughter doesn't even like falafel but she loved the one we ate. Jody told us about the vendors and food. We were part of a small group which allowed us to take our time and really feel like locals. She shared some history and tips about MB I never would have known on my own. My bf and I were able to bring our dog, which was a huge plus. The town is dog friendly to begin with, so 6 out of the 7 places we stopped at we could bring our fur baby. Each stop, we ate something unique. By stop 4 I was stuffed, but the food was too good I couldn't stop eating. There was a wine tasting which was a great addition.
