After having Dinner here recently I was torn on giving Napoli's a 3 or a 4 but decided on a 3 due to the basically run down conditions of the restaurant itself ( Torn seats, broken lightbulbs, cobwebs in the chandeliers, mismatched bulbs in the chandeliers & just tacky & outdated decor throughout ) As far as the food goes it was excellent & the service was superb as well as the prices were quite fair ( 2 Entrees, 2 soft drinks for $ 53.69 ) All in all it was a positive experience but the owners need to sink some money into upkeep to make it a 4 or 5 star meal. read more

Napoli's Italian Restaurant is a great little spot tucked away on the corner, easy to miss, but absolutely worth stopping for. A few colleagues and I went in for dinner and were pleasantly surprised from the start. I ordered the special of the night: a 7oz salmon topped with shrimp, served over a bed of angel hair pasta in a vodka tomato basil sauce with sun-dried tomatoes. The flavors were on point and perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice. Everything tasted fresh and well balanced, and despite being completely full, I cleaned the plate because it was just that good. The portion was generous and the dish felt thoughtfully prepared, not rushed. The pasta turned out to be spaghetti because they were out of angel hair but worse the shrimp were rubbery and the white wine lemon sauce was very tart. We were in town for a quick stop over night. We stayed downtown and were able to walk to this place which was a win. They got us in relatively quick! They were out of calamari which was fine except they didn't take it off the bill at the end so that felt off. We got some mozzarella sticks which were fine, and the sauce was great. Our meals were pretty terrible. The food was just bad. We got a seafood linguine and the crab in it was imitation crab and was rubber like. The lobster ravioli had no flavor and the sauce was overly salty. My daughter's food was never brought and the server blamed someone else for taking her dish.. so we all had our meals and they had to make her a new one. When she got it the ham in it was so over cooked it wasn't edible. It was like jerky. The manager did take off her meal and offered us desert. The desert was tasty and the 8$ house Chianti was also good. They standard bring out these little bagel shaped bread sticks which were the BEST. We saw the reviews and positive ratings on yelp and decided to try it on our way through Amarillo. So glad we did! We parked on the street and were met and seated by friendly, polite staff. Our server was with us immediately and we ordered almost instantly. My husband requested the spaghetti with meat sauce while I ordered the Vicky's chicken special, which was diced sautéed chicken with spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, mozzarella, and garlic sauce over penne pasta. They brought garlic knots with marinara as an appetizer and we shared a side salad with a homemade ranch dressing that was wonderful. I also ordered an Italian margarita which had tequila, triple sec, and amaretto as well as margarita mix and it was delicious as well. Everything was SO good! I had lasagna and it was fantastic. Great place to go in date night or take the whole family for lunch. Service was fast & friendly.

We did take out with the little one with us but it was great. All the food was great; I would prefer better rolls but the fettuccine made up for it. We did not check the inside out. We will have to do that next time. read more

I'm not Italian nor have I ever been to Italy but I love the marinara sauce here! Garlic knots and marinara could be a meal in itself as far as I'm concerned. But I had the lasagna and added a meatball and a sausage along with some veggies to make it all 'healthy'. It was very good. The sausage had a great flavor to it and the meatballs were perfect - nice and soft and delicious. The lasagna was alright but nothing special. I would definitely go back without hesitation. If you're of the Prego generation, leave this place for the rest of us who know what marinara should taste like. read more

Interesting. I saw the restaurant has four stars but I am not so sure. When we were seated I ordered a soda to hear they had run out of carbonation. My daughter pointed out a Guinness sign on the wall. So, ordered a Guinness to be told they have not carried Guinness for a couple years. Not a good start. Not hard to take down a beer sign especially n an Italian themed restaurant. I settled for water. As for the food we had spaghetti and baked penne. The spaghetti with meat sauce was very good and was a healthy size portion. There was also plenty of sauce. My daughter also liked her baked penne pasta. The decor here is super cute and very Italian. The waitresses/waiters were all dressed up for Halloween and it made the atmosphere fun. I got the vodka sauce penne and it was so, so good! Portions were HUGE and I slowly ate the whole thing (hiked all morning so I was starving and in need of carbs). My friends got the carbonara and the chicken Alfredo. The bread to me was kinda hard and dry (red sauce didn't help it). But it's ok, I wasn't there for the bread. Prices were reasonable too for an Italian place downtown, which was nice. read more

I have eaten gas station sandwiches of higher quality than this place. In addition, the waiter took my drink order, and then tried to walk away before taking my wife's order. I think service needs a tune up at Napoli's. It's not bad, but it could be better. It seems like staff is more interested in their phone than the customer. The food is your basic Italian. The sauce taste like it was from a jar. If you are downtown and need Italian, come here. I do give kudos to the chicken piccata. It just needed a dash more salt and it would have been an B+. Very impressed by the food and the price! We called maybe 45 mins til close to place a to-go order, and the person on the phone still sounded happy to take my order and was very helpful. We had just gotten in to our hotel from a long drive, and my son had requested "noodles" for dinner, and this seemed like our only option. My husband got the Don's Special, and I got the Amarillo Special (add mushrooms) and both were so good, even after the ride back to the hotel! Their tomato basil vinaigrette was delicious. They start with these interesting bread circles...they were a bit soft and doughy but not bad and the marinara sauce they served with them was pretty good. The portions are huge so bring an appetite. The reason it was only a 3 star is I ordered the veal picatta...the flavors weren't bad but they drowned the pasta and the veal In sauce.
