We had a great time. We went for happy hour and had the Kolsch. Ashlyn was our sever. She & the lady bartender were great.

Six Car is a pretty standard brewpub, with a broad food menu and a nice selection of beers. We popped in around 7 pm on a Thursday and it wasn't crowded; we sat at the bar for dinner but plenty of tables were available too. Other patrons were mostly young/middle-aged men who looked to be straight from the office, along with some families and other groups who may be visiting town. The place has plenty of large tables for bigger groups and staff seemed to keep up with orders just fine. Beers were just fine but not exceptional. Caesar salad was exactly as expected, with tiny croutons and dry grated Parm (both of which seemed like they came straight from a bag). Fries were that coated twice-fried sort that are extra greasy--not really my thing. The burger was a nice size, and hot and tasty. This is a nice walkable neighborhood and street parking was easy to find on a weekday evening. read more

This spot was a bit of a letdown. It's a really cool location with a rooftop bar, but the beer and food were less than mediocre. Our server was really nice, but she'd only been working 2 days and knew nothing about the menu or beer selection. My pizza reminded me like a frozen pizza. First night in downtown Amarillo, and needed a walkable dinner option. Found it in Six Car... great green chili burger with a perfectly cooked egg on top. And a quality caramel-forward house-made Texas Bock brew to wash it down. Timely and friendly service. Fun atmosphere. read more

This is one of the best restaurants and bars I've been to in Amarillo! Will definitely go back. I tried several of their house beers, and all were good. The stout was my favorite. This place got very crowded and the staff were busy the whole time, but I was still served quickly and with politeness. read more

Ordered the jalapeño pretzel and buffalo wings with carrots and celery. The pretzel did not taste like anything other than bread. The wings and sides were dry. If you don't like this pizza then you don't know good pizza. Don't trust anyone who talks shiz on this pizza. Their happy hour prices are great!!!! $10 for this pizza and 4 buckaroos for a draft. Unfriendly staff at the front. Unfriendly bartender. My friend asked me if my drink had alcohol in it and honestly, I wasn't sure but I had two drinks and did not taste any alcohol or have any effects which I don't drink very much at all anymore and I always feel a little tiny buzz even with one drink the second drink didn't do anything. when I got home I usually know and can feel the effects of alcohol, but there was no alcohol in either one of my drinks or my friend's drinks. I can't give a review of the food because we didn't actually eat there. Let me explain. We arrived a little after 6pm in a Thursday evening. Hostess stated it would be a 15 minute wait. The whole vibe was amazing. Very chill and welcoming. My husband and I really enjoyed our night. We brought our 5 month old daughter with us and she loved all the lights there. We started off with the truffle fries and they were sooooo good! My husband got the hot honey pepperoni pizza and ate almost all of it. I got the angry bird grilled cheese with onion rings. I wish I could remember the name of the girl who waited on us. I believe she was part Asian. She was so kind and attentive. Her service made our experience even better. Their food was surprisingly good! It had items you wouldn't find at just any restaurant. I believe I had the Korean chicken sandwich. They even have a kids menu! So my little guy had some applesauce. Food was good, service was friendly, food took forever. We came on a Tuesday, $2.50 beers, sliders, kids meals, and fries. We ordered them all, and a side of sautéed veggies, the Nashville chicken sandwich, the side strawberry feta salad, the side Caesar salad, the chocolate torte, and the cheesecake. Everything was good except the cheesecake with ganache. The cheesecake was... gritty... and the ganache was very similar to Hershey's chocolate syrup (don't get me wrong, I like Hershey's but it's definitely not ganache). read more

Being new to town I wanted to try some of the local beer. So I swung by Six Car with my growlers to get them filled up. The service was prompted and getting them filled was easy. In and out. My only issue is that neither of my growlers were sealed or labeled. This might seem trivial, but hear me out. Every other time I've gotten my growlers filled, the lids have been tightened and taped shut. Because, you know, you have to take them home and you don't want them to leak all over the car. It also really helps if they are labeled, because you might want to know which beer you're drinking. Instead it was just like "this beer is in this growler, this beer is in this growler. Don't mix them up or forget which is which." Neither of these happened and that is quite disappointing. Now to keep things in perspective, while it was disappointing, it wasn't a deal breaker. The beer was good and the brewery itself has a fantastic setup. It's just the difference between a 4-star and a 5-star review. I'll be back. I just might not swing by for another growler fill up. read more

Went for first time-not so busy on a Saturday afternoon with football. Nice day, but patio had lots of flies, so we stayed inside. Tables didn't seem very clean. Menus were dirty and needed cleaning. The food was good! We got cheese fries to start out. It's put on aluminum foil, and if you're weird like me. Forks touching foil or foil in my mouth really freaks me out. Atmosphere is awesome! The lighter patio, upper balcony with a view and heaters, inside seating up and downstairs screamed "craft brewery!" Conveniently located, parking was easy and close by. But the way they have it designed was impressive!!! Wish I could say I tried their beer, but I was drawn to the Amarillo Slim mixed drink with DR PEPPER!!! Wasn't my favorite beverage, definitely couldn't drink several in one night like you could some cold craft brew, but it's interesting and worth a try. Think Dr Pepper meets CherryLimeade plus some rum. I got the "Climate Change Burger" which I was really hoping by the name meant that it didn't have beef in it....But it does . However it was pretty good even tho not climate change friendly. The pizza tho! Wow!!! Comin from a small town with nothing but fast-food chain pizza... it was so refreshing to have a GOOD pizza! Really nice meal and evening at Six Car. Easy to find and had a huge patio with live music that was really nice to enjoy before I went in. Once inside, sat at the bar and nice job on sound insulation as I could hear the band, but not overpowering even though only 60 feet away! Bartender, Lil Ash, was great, very friendly and I ordered an Old Fashioned. Unfortunately, after she placed the order, she had to run upstairs to the rooftop bar, as that is where they make them. Felt sad I made her run upstairs for my drink but she joked it keeps her in shape. Was an excellent drink, big round cube and Luxardo Cherry. Ordered the Nashville Chicken Sandwich, very tasty, however-not spicy enough and I should have ordered it "xtra spicy" as described on the menu. But, super tasty and subbed out fries for their house glazed brussells which were fantastic. Good time and will be back next go around in Amarillo. read more

Great service from Marissa. We arrived during happy hour. Only apps and pizza available till 5 pm. We loved the pork dumplings. Our server brought us a dinner menu just before 5 pm without us asking. While waiting for dinner we enjoyed the Hoover Hog APA. For dinner the short rib grilled cheese was excellent. Tender and dipping au jus was tasty. Also the basic burger was plenty big and the multigrain mustard added such flavor. read more

Nice place downtown, we sat upstairs and it was a little quieter than the main floor. Only bummer was part of the keg and tap system was down and they only had a couple of draft beers. Six Car is definitely on the top ten list of our favorite places in Amarillo. We always have an excellent time with our friends here. Our favorite place to sit is on the roof. We usually go late in the week and enjoy the cocktails and their own crafted beers. I had the Vaquero a Mexican lager which was smooth and light. Much like a Dos Equis. My favorite fries in town are here also. I have never been disappointed by the truffle fries! They are so crispy and tasty! My friend had a coconut cocktail (can't remember the name). I had a sip and it was well blended and not too sweet. Our waiter was excellent and attentive even though it was super crowded on a Friday. Just an excellent experience and they weren't upset that we were there almost 3 hours! Thank you Six Car! read more

We were staying in Amarillo on our trip back from Colorado. We wanted a restaurant with good variety and I found Six Car. Nice menu, lots of options. When I went in they weren't super full and they were able to put together some tables for our group...9 people, which I appreciated them doing within a reservation. I had the Korean chicken sandwich. It was very flavorful, chicken was juicy, & it went well with my beer. Everyone had something different, a few salads, fish & chips, ribs, burgers, & the chicken & waffles. Consensus was good on the food and drinks. Service wasn't great, especially towards the end of the meal. Had to ask for more drinks and then wait forever for our check. I would eat here again though and I do recommend it. read more

My husband and I wanted to try something new while we were in Amarillo and we decided to go to Six Car Pub and Brewery. We loved the interior of the restaurant as well as the outdoor area they have. Our waitress was absolutely amazing. She was the only one waiting at the time and she did great at checking on us. She also made great recommendations for the beer sampler. Our favorite was the El Vaquero but all 4 were great. I ordered the Climate Change burger and substituted the pepper jack cheese with the beer cheese, it is definitely in the top 5 of the best burgers I have ever had. My husband had the Short Rib Grilled Cheese and he could not stop oohing and ahhing while eating it. We will definitely go back the next time we are in Amarillo! read more
