I came here on a Wednesday night because of their HH special of half off appetizers and drink specials. :) We started off with the fried calamari, stuffed mushrooms, and a small Caesar salad. The calamari was excellent. The stuffed mushrooms were not what I expected, but still pretty good. Instead of little mushrooms filled with stuffing with crab and cheese, these little babies were drowned in a special marinara sauce mixed with cheese and crab. The sauce was amazing! I kept dipping the complimentary garlic knots into that sauce instead of the original marinara sauce that came with the bread. The Caesar salad was definitely nothing special; I probably could have made the same or even better at home. We both ordered two different types of pasta for our entrees. Both were tasty and had generous amounts of meat and seafood in each dish. Overall, the food was good (one of the better restaurants in town), portions are large and generous, reasonably priced for the amount of food you get, the atmosphere was cozy, and the waiter was attentive and friendly. Wow! What an experience! The timing couldn't have been better! After a day of errands and feeling like I got a lot of wanted goals done for the week. I decided it would be a rather rewarding treat to have a nice linner -- the time between lunch and dinner. Still being new to the area, I wanted to see where I could go an eat something that would fill me up. I had missed lunch and wanted a hearty meal. I found several places but Napoli seemed to be calling me. The restaurant is located in downtown Amarillo so it was also a chance to explore downtown and see the heart of the city. It was such a nostalgic feeling seeing all the decor and beautifully lit interior. The place truly had a sweet traditional Italian vibe. I should have treated myself to a glass of wine. Perhaps next time I come here. Our server who I always forgot her name sadly, was truly sweet and attentive. Sorry I forgot your name but you did an awesome job! The restaurant was sparsely filled but I knew as a food and restaurant lover that it was just after lunch hour, and I gotta be honest... I wanted to be in quiet and calm environment. After a lunch rush is one of the best times to eat if you are looking for a relaxing and calm experience. Sitting towards the back area gave me just this feeling. I don't know if it's just me, but people must read my energy because I got exactly what I needed when I needed it. A bonus and unexpected surprise to me was the homemade bread they brought as a beginner starter. The marinara was so good I was afraid I was gonna eat all the bread up even before ordering. The menu had many delicious items and the pizza I was told was to die for. But one food item really sparked my interest. The Chicken Cacciatore! Now, in case some of you do not know, the word "Cacciatore" means hunter, a wild game hunter like a cazador. Of course the chicken wasn't wild caught but the dish is a traditional food item that I haven't seen on a menu in years. The last time I knew of a chicken Cacciatore it was with rotisserie chicken but this place served it with chicken breast which is more my contemporary style. Half of a rotisserie chicken is a meal to share and the idea is chicken breast over pasta with sautéed mushrooms, peppers, onions, olives, garlic in a sherry wine marinara sauce. I am also glad they were able to do my pasta substitution. I have a thing for penne pasta. I forgot to mention that I wanted the pasta al dente but low and behold, it came out just how I wanted it. It was also a huge portion! Heck I was expecting one chicken breast and I got 2! Was this a mistake? Oh wait, this is traditional Italian, you get enough food to take home for another meal! We were driving through to Houston, and stayed the night in Amarillo. We were so hungry, since we got in late, and I had called a couple of places, which said their kitchen was already closed at 9, it was 930, and Napoli's said they would take us, we were around the corner from there. I was so grateful, we rushed over, and were greeted by super friendly staff. The complimentary bread rolls, and so warm and fresh, the marinara sauce with it is delicious. We ordered pizza as our mains, and my only comment or bit of advice, is try to spice up the dough a bit. It was very plain, and did not have that freshly made taste. Otherwise, excellent service, loved my salad with the tomato vinaigrette, and my son loved his huge kids size spaghetti and meatballs. read more

My girlfriend is from out of town and while looking through different restaurants she suggested Napoli's (cuz she loves Happy Hour deals, lol). I'd eaten here several times before (& loved it) so I thought it would be a great representation of Italian food in Amarillo. Between the two of us we got: - 4 glasses of wine (Merlot, Cabernet) - 2 appetizers (Shrimp Scampi, Mozzarella Sticks) - 2 entrees (Meat Lasagna, Eggplant Parmesan) Sienna was our server, she kicked ass; there when we needed her, but not in our faces. Eddie's Napoli's was a great find while in Amarillo for a night. In part thanks to Yelp. Is an easy short walk from Embassy Suites in downtown. Entrees came with garlic bread. Had the Chicken Murphy and Rigatoni Cacciatore. Both were really delicious and left us with leftovers too!! I must add however...Texans are oblivious to the dangers of Covid!! Was coming through town and got weathered in so the front desk at the embassy recommended this restaurant and now I know why.. not only was the customer service top notch but the food was out of this world. Loved this quaint little trip to Italy in the heart of downtown Amarillo. To say I enjoyed it is an understatement. The Chicken Alfredo was so good I couldn't stop eating it. Downtown Amarillo doesn't have many options within walking distance from where I stayed. I checked out Naopli's on Yelp and trusted the reviews. Thank you Yelp community! The staff brought garlic bread knots with marinara sauce to the table while I figured out what I was going to eat. The bread was very good, but it was covered with a parmesan cheese mix that was a little overwhelming. I had to scrape a little off to find a good balance for me. I ended up ordering the MEAT Calzone. It was amazing and delicious. The mix of selected meats and cheese was very good. I recommend this dish if you are a Calzone or Stromboli fan. I also order the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer but was not that impressed. There are definitely some gems on the menu, and I look forward to try other dishes when I return. read more

Best Italian food in downtown and in the city! I love the complimentary bread and sauce. Every time I come here they are always busy so plan to wait at least 10-15 minutes. Worth every minute too! Portions are huge and price isn't too bad. I like the fact that this place is located in the downtown area. Good way to bring a more city life into Amarillo. If you're not from Amarillo, downtown is really small on night life, as far as clubs and restaraunts. They should really think about re-locating on Polk st. near the clubs and extend their hours to at least midnight. read more

The food here is delicious. I ordered the cannelloni. It was your standard food that reminds me of lasagna. Their complimentary garlic knots bread is awesome too. I'm giving this place 3 stars because of really, really slow service. Also, they need to do something about the flies. I understand it's summer time, but it takes away so much from the experience. Very quaint Italian eatery located in downtown Amarillo. A few of my wife's friends mentioned this place was worth trying and one Saturday afternoon, we were able to finally give it a shot. I called ahead and asked if what the dress code was and what time they closed. The gentleman who answered the phone said it was totally casual - T-shirts and shorts are the norm. He also mentioned they were open all day till 10pm. Nice. Arrived around 1pm and the place wasn't very busy. I like how this restaurant feels. There are lots of windows that let a lot of natural light in. You can also see the pedestrians walking by and looking in curiously. Our waiter, Charles, was a really nice guy and was helpful when we had questions about the menu and the food. I ordered an iced tea ($2) and he brought out some complimentary garlic bread. Believe me when I tell you that the garlic bread here is AWESOME. They make it from scratch and instead of having the same boring "breadstick" format, they roll the dough up so that it looks almost like a small bagel - that's been baked and brushed with butter and garlic. Delicious. My wife ordered the Lobster Ravioli ($11), which isn't what it sounds like. Yes, there is lobster; but it's not in the ravioli. There are actually about 4-5 giant ravioli that are stuffed with traditional ricotta cheese. Then, they take this sauce made with sherry and cook chunks of artificial lobster in it and cover the ravioli. Despite the lobster not being real, it's still a very delectable dish. Lots of sauce, so feel free to use that complimentary garlic bread to dip it in. Yum. I split a medium pizza with a friend and we customized our toppings. We added sliced italian sausage ($3), pepperoni($2), and onions($2). This brought the grand total of our 14" medium pizza to $20. That's pretty steep! Especially cause I didn't think the pizza was anything REALLY unique or special. It wasn't napoletano style or anything. It was just a regular crust pizza with good toppings and lots of cheese. Delicious, but for $20, you could probably get a coupon for Papa Johns and get two large pizzas. Oh well. It was still really good. Again, our server Charles was excellent and friendly. The food took awhile to come out, but that's because they make everything from scratch. We didn't have any problem waiting because Charles just kept bringing that fresh garlic bread out. It's soooooooo good. It'll make you forget you were waiting on other food. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms because all the reviews I read said these were "to die for" and "the best stuffed mushrooms they ever had". They brought out some complimentary garlic bread with some red marinara dipping sauce. The bread was dense and a little doughy not great. My choice would have been some olive oil and garlic with some Italian seasonings instead of tomato sauce but it was free how could I really complain right? My stuffed mushrooms came out very quickly and they were in some type of red cream sauce, thought it was strange but the taste should fix that....but I can see what looks like chunks of artificial crab meat in the sauce and I realize that the mushrooms are not stuffed with real crab but artificial crab meat, foul! Taste wasn't bad, average at best. My main course came out almost as quickly as my appetizer, I ate 1 mushroom before it came out. Didn't really get to "enjoy" my app. So my Seafood Special had clams, shrimp, mussels, and crab. Yep you guessed it the crab was fake, pretty sure the mussels were pre cooked along with the clams, most likely from a can or jar. It was the same creamy red sauce as the mushrooms or a variant of it anyway. Again not worth writing home about, but definitely bad enough to make sure you guys don't get it. I went in for takeout due to Covid. The food was ready when requested. The house tomato vinaigrette was very good. The pepperoni pizza was ok, but not exceptional. I ordered a calzone, which I was looking forward to since it is often hard to find one with ricotta. Unfortunately, I got back to the hotel and it was a stromboli, without the ricotta. It was probably a simple mistake, but the server brought my mussels out first with 2 plates, as an appetizer, although I clearly intended it to be for my meal. In spite of this, the meal soon followed. Unfortunately, although it looked very good and the portions were large, the food was just mediocre and bland. The mussels were ok, but just ok, as was my coworkers pasta, which I tried. The restaurant only has 4 dressings for the salad, and not one is a vinaigrette or Italian. Because I did not want Ceaser, Ranch, or Blue Cheese, I ordered the house dressing, which is also tomato based. Again, I was not impressed and ended up getting a side of Ranch. I had dinner with my girlfriend here on 03/26/16. I have eaten at Napoli's before and it's always been excellent and this night was no different. I should have rated this restaurant in the past. It's downtown in Amarillo with a lot of free parking. The restaurant has good ambiance and we were quickly seated by friendly wait staff. We ordered the seafood special which is $17.95 and believe me, it is more than two people can eat. So we just had the waiter bring an extra plate. We had a half carafe of wine which was very good and for desert we had Italian Creme Cake, one slice. The total bill was $38.86 which I found reasonable. Service was excellent.
