In a location that used to be a midwestern cafe (hence all the wood and fireplace, it had a hunting lodge motif) this delicious place popped up and I'm sad it took me this long to get here. They kept the inside style but brightened it up with hanging orchids, mobile/wind homes, and bamboo accents making it feel like you're in a secret garden in a forest in Thailand. We started with soups - Tom kha was rich and flavorful but I missed the heat (it's not indicated as spicy but I bet you can ask) and Tom yum was perfectly balanced sweet, sour, and spicy. We tried the lemongrass chicken wings which were crunchy and cooked well but I didn't taste the lemongrass over the Thai chili sauce it was covered in. The fresh rolls were a miss for me, I didn't like that they were served cut up because unless you ate it in one bite it falls apart. I also prefer mine with peanut sauce. They were rolled well however and the ingredients were prepared well. The Panang curry is deliciously flavored and I was happy to see zucchini and broccoli- most places just do bell pepper and bamboo. It was a bit thin consistency but the rice soaked it right up. Medium spicy was a good medium though it was a bit sweet so I might go up to hot next time to counter that. We also had the combination plate which had a crunchy and refreshing papaya salad, beef jerky which was a little tough but to be expected since it is jerky - great lightly sweet and salty flavor. The pandan coconut rice was sweet and felt more like a dessert but delicious nonetheless. I was up by Millenia and starving so decided to try this Thai restaurant. I went during lunch and like everything else these days, inflation has impacted their pricing, but I was satisfied with the meal for the price 12.95. I was considering the Deva fried rice or the BBQ fried rice. My server steered me towards the BBQ fried rice as this is a popular entree. I was liking the Deva because it had hotdogs, bacon and corn. Kind of the kitchen sink of fried rice. I went with the BBQ and wished I had not second guessed myself. It was pork that had a red coating you sometimes see at Asian or Korean restaurants. The rice was perfectly cooked but some pieces of the BBQ had me feeling like I was eating a tough jerky. Other pieces of pork were tender and tasty. I will go back and try the Deva fried rice. The interior is cute and I found very welcoming. Not in that clean modern but more of a touch that felt like you were in another world. I really appreciate that my water came with a very sturdy turtle safe straw. Yay! There were two servers seating and waiting on the lunch crowd but I never felt neglected. Courteous prompt service. I really want to like this place and will likely go back for the Deva Fried Rice sometime in the future. In my opinion, you can never go wrong with Thai Food! It usually never disappoints in taste and flavor. We were hungry and saw this spot, saw "Thai" & knew this is what we were in the mood for. We both got the Red Curry hot & it was delicious! The spice was perfectly done. The coconut flavor was nice too. The service was fine. The ambiance is......interesting. It's like your outdooors. When it was first done it was probably amazing but it looked old, worn & dusty. Wouldn't keep me from going back but it would do a lot to this place to update & clean that up a bit. The plates they use were so old too. I've never been to a Thai restaurant that uses these typical bowls you would buy at a Kmart back in the day? It doesn't enhance the appearance of the food at all. Even my husband commented on it first! The size of the bowl was also by far the smallest portion of Red Curry I've ever had & I've been to a lot of Thai restaurants. This was lunch time but that's usually when I go so I'm not comparing a lunch portion to a dinner portion. With all that said, the Curry was delicious but that was it. This Thai Restaurant in the Millenia area was ok. It was a bit overpriced for what you got. I think most of the dishes were above the $15 mark for chicken and tofu and even more for shrimp and beef. The dumpling appetizer was 8 bucks and only 4 tiny dumplings. Many other places in Orlando give you a lot more and are much better. I ordered the Crispy Duck with the Thai Basil sauce. The duck was boneless (nice touch) but didn't get any of that duck fat goodness. The sauce was good, but had barely any basil flavor. When I want Thai Basil, I want Thai Basil. I even asked for extra basil. Mrs. S's Eggplant dish had barely any eggplant! WTF. $3 for brown rice? C'mon man! That's crazy and much more of an uncharge than other places. It was a nice mound o' rice, but sheesh bro. 3 Stars is OK. If I was forced to, I'd eat here again, but I've enjoyed some Thai places closer to my side of town and there are plenty of other places in the area at which to indulge. Hands down the best drunken noodles/ pad kee mao I have ever had!! I love Thai food, and have definitely tried a ton of Thai places, but this pad kee mao was perfect! Nice amount of garlic, basil flavor, noodles were perfectly cooked, not too dry, perfect amount of sauce, and great amount of crisp veggies! They forgot the tofu but were nice enough to give us a side of fried tofu with a dipping sauce which was also delicious! Also tried the Thai tea, always good with Thai food! Had lunch here a few days ago, everything was amazing! It's located by the millennia mall and has a good parking lot. We came in during lunch, they have a big lunch menu featuring many things. I had the curry, you are able to choose between mild, medium, and hot. The curry was so good and flavorful. Next time i will get the hot! The other dish that was ordered was the pad Thai, which already came with a little bit of spice which was so good. Definitely recommend. For dessert, we had the donuts which were delicious!!! On this visit, after an exhausting shopping trip, (Mall at Millenia is basically across the avenue) we entered NaraDeva, fully expecting to be well fed. NaraDeva is located on the corner,inside a plaza, anchored by HomeGoods. The decor in NaraDeva immediately transports you to another place, with plants, and a water fountain on a center wall. There is outside seating along a side wall. There is a large bar with a wide selection of wines and liquor. There are booths and tables properly distributed throughout the the large seating area. Appetizers: shrimp roll and lemongrass sweet and sour wings. Let me tell you these apps are delicious. First of all, hot food is in and of itself, magical. The crispiness of both dishes is crunchirific (is that a word). I told my husband, on my next visit I am ordering two orders of each. Entrees: Shrimp Pad Thai & Red Bbq pork fried rice with added chicken. Again, hot food is sooooooo amazing. And big portions, have always been a norm here. The pad thai was bursting with sweet and savory flavors, loaded with plump shrimps and not only 3 or 4 like other places. The large mound of fried rice is scrumptious, the pork is succulent and chicken juicy. The service here is always 100% amazing. We are always greeted with a smile, seated promptly, our servers are attentive and the kitchen staff efficient timing our dishes wonderfully. NaraDeva is one of our all time favorites. We have been going to the restaurant for years. Food is consistently great - my son loves the Pad See Yew but ventured for the Thai basil noodles today - it was the best meal at the table. First time patron. Initial impression was the place was quaint but cluttered. Server took over 5 minutes to even acknowledge we were seated but it gave us plenty of time to go over the menu. The green papaya salad was very good but the Tom Kai Gai soup was very sweet and not the least bit creamy and lacking in tomato chunks or dusting of chili powder. The red curry chicken was flavorful but again the sauce was very watery. The decor looked like it hadn't been dusted in years! The tables need to be revarnished and there was peeling paint on the window frames. The floor was polished but had years of ground in black dirt under the sealer. There were black mop marks all over the base of the booths and the upholstery needs a good cleaning. My husband used the dirty bathroom and there was NO soap, not even a dispenser! Wondering if that's the bathroom staff uses??? Sure hope not! If they can't keep the front of the house clean I don't even want to imagine what the kitchen might look like!
