Feels like you are in a different and comfortable environment. The food is always delicious. It may seem a bit overpriced but you do get a lot on your plate. Do you realize how early most restaurants close in Orlando? This was one of the few opened past 8 pm. Service was prompt. Dishes presented well. However, a closer look at each entree provided some details that could not convince me they should cost as much. Teriyaki chicken had lots of veggies as garnish...raw carrots, cabbage, broccoli. Made the dish look larger than it was. Panang Curry sauce was not as thick as I'd like. More sliced peppers would've been nice. There were lots of chopped carrots. No onions. Quite pleasant What did I get I went here during the lunch hour and was surprised that they had a lunch menu. There was also a large variety of items. I got the red curry with beef. Also got the onion ring/calamari and the fish cake from the appetizer menu. The red curry was good, I like the rice, it was the right texture to dress it with the curry. The day I went though (2/18/19) I felt like it was a bit on the warmer side, and I wonder if this was part of the theming as well. There is no outdoor seating and there is quite a number of seating inside. This location is in a plaza beside Target, where Pier One is located. Niceness of the staff I love that any waitress is able to come and take care of your needs. My water is constantly filled and they are easily accessible. The reason for 4 stars is I wish the place was a little cleaner, other than that, absolutely fabulous food! The ambience is adorable. It's got a little western flair to go along with the Thai flair. I've been eating out by myself a lot, because I am new to the area and I am a total foodie. I don't love going alone, but for great food, I'll do it! They had a great selection on their lunch menu. The actual menu itself has dozens of things that sound delicious. I was greeted quite warmly by a young man and he knew a lot about the menu. Good for me because I am not a huge Thai food foodie! Their staff is very accommodating and nice, and as a vegetarian I had multiple options to enjoy from. I've found this restaurant almost by mistake while looking for a Thai restaurant near by, and I went several times during my stay in Orlando. I totally recommend their Tom Kha, it is super delicious. Their Massaman and Panang curry are super flavorful. In this place I tired for the first time the Tapioca and Coconut pudding, which is A MUST TRY. Overall this restaurant was a bit underwhelming. Not even sure where to start!! The decor is a bit crazy! But super fun, I suppose. I feel like it fits more the style of a restaurant that you would find on i-drive.. not near the millenia area. Not trying to say anything negative, just saying for this to be a local spot, it was a bit overwhelming. I was seated right away, and service was quick and nice. I had ordered some coconut ice cream dessert, and they ended up not having any but weren't able to substitute it for anything else. That was weird because the ice cream is on about 3 or so of their dessert choices. Overall food was great but underwhelming. I had the yellow curry lunch portion, but it was just simply okay. They also didn't ask if I wanted to spicy or not, and I kind of forgot to ask. It came out so very mild tasting, I suppose that added to not having a lot of flavor. The duck was perfectly crisp, super duper tender, the sauce and veggies complimented the dish so well. P.S.- I moved the veggies on the side to keep the duck crispy longer. Every time I'm in the Millennia area and drive past this place, I am enchanted by the interior decor. "I'm going to eat there next time I'm in this part of town," I always say. Well I finally did! My friend and I came with our kiddos and had a great meal. She had the veggies in black bean sauce, I had the panang curry with tofu, and our kids had a variety of sides, including chicken satay. Everything was delicious, of course. Have you ever had bad Thai food? Not sure such a thing is possible. Every main can be ordered with tofu as your protein, so it is very vegetarian friendly. The vegetarian pickings are a bit more slim in the appetizer section, but with mains this good and varied, who cares? The kiddos were pleased and fighting over their dishes, so it was a home run there as well. Where NaraDeva really excels, though, is the aforementioned decor. The inside is just gorgeous and you really feel like you've been whisked away to Thailand. The flavor was amazing for everything we got! The lunch menu had great options and large portions, we were all stuffed afterwards! We would've liked to try more desserts, but the mango sticky rice is a definite must! The curry is beautifully blended with their spices. I've been going to this place for years and it never disappoints. Always good food and fast service. They also have lunch from 11am-3pm if you go on weekdays. Also have different spice levels if you're into spicy food. We ordered the shrimp papaya salad with Thai hot and pad kee mao shrimp. I give a solid 3.5 star rating for this Thai establishment. NaraDeva is tucked into a corner of Asian stores, restaurants and businesses in a pretty worn looking plaza off of Colonial Drive. However, don't let their unassuming facade fool you. Once you step inside NaraDeva, you feel as though you've been transported to an Asian nation as the decor is over the top (in a good way) and your eyes don't know where to look next - it's quite spectacular! The food is reasonably priced and they have a special menu with pictures of the food items if you ask. Our server was nice enough, but not really attentive or what I would call "friendly." The food was okay - typical Thai fare - and better than most Thai places I've ventured into (I should also mention that I'm not a huge fan of Thai food in general - my friend raved about this place!). I ordered chicken satay skewers and wanted to try the Thai donuts for dessert. The chicken was lean with seasoning that is common for the dish. Stopped in for a quick lunch at NaraDeva today. Quick and friendly service. Took less than 10 minutes to get our meals so that's a big plus even for the lunch rush. Tried the Thai red bbq pork friend rice which has a great Smokey flavor and tasted very much like the fried rice i had in Chiang Mai Thailand. Also tried the crispy egg noodles with sesame gravy topping which definitely had a lot of gravy but still quite tasty. I have to start by saying that the decor of this restaurant is extremely refreshing. The staff was friendly but also trying to rush with the orders. ( no time between bringing the appetizers and entree out). We ordered clear soup and spring rolls for appetizers and they both were great. the clear soup was not overly salty like at some other place I have had. The spring rolls were yummy. I wasn't the biggest fan of their red curry and panang curry. They both were a tad bit sweeter that I would prefer ( I know they are suppose to be on the sweeter side but this was a bit much). The other thing I have to mention is that they tasted almost the same. For desserts we ordered thai donuts, they were light, and airy and very buttery. Tasted great but seemed like the they were cooked in prior used oil ( we went an hour before closing). They are definitely cooked in coconut oil so if you aren't a coconut fan here is your FYI. This is a really cute restaurant with really sweet people working here. My friend and I stopped in about 35 minutes before they were closing. We didn't realize how late it was and were going to leave ... (I hate waltzing in when places are trying to wind down) ... but they insisted we stay. We ended up ordering a few items from the appetizer list (since those were probably faster to cook.) We got steamed dumplings, chicken wings, chicken satay and Thai beef jerky. The steamed dumplings were okay. The chili garlic sauce that came with them helped in the flavor department a lot. The chicken satay was okay as well. I couldn't really taste the marinade but peanut sauce will always make up for that. The Thai beef jerky was interesting but it wasn't my favorite. However, the chicken wings were pretty good due to the yummy lemongrass sweet and sour sauce. Overall, it was just okay. I have a feeling, based on other reviews, that maybe this was due to getting their so late.
