Ive had mixed experiences with this particular Nardelli's. I'm a fan of the chain in general, and was pleased to see that one was opening up in this area. I've gone there maybe 6 or 7 times since it opened, moreso recently. The restaurant is always clean (at least as far as I can tell), and I've never had to wait very long for service. The staff is fine, and the owner is really pleasant the one or two times he helped me in line. Their chicken salad and stuffed portobello mushrooms are REALLY good. My daughter likes the chicken cutlet sandwich. The bread Is consistently fresh and tasty. The two times I have ordered chicken breast (grilled, not the breaded cutlet) however I have ended up being really disappointed. It was overcooked to the point of being inedible. Both times I got it in a wrap, maybe heating up the wrap also ended up further cooking the chicken. I have dietary limitations so while I'm sure a lot of other things on the menu are good, grilled chicken is my main staple when I go to any deli. While I was pleased that they came in different choices (balsamic, plain, I think chipotle), both times I tried I couldn't eat it. I ended up picking the rest of the innards of the wrap eating that. Also, and this might just be my luck, I've never seen them have any sort of chicken or beef based soup. It's always lobster this or chowder that. Initially I thought that it was because I was coming in later in the evening (my daughter and I made it a habit of coming in after her softball games so she could have a healthy victory meal) and that they were simply out, but I have come in at earlier times (around 5) and it was the same thing. Overall, I will continue to go there for my daughter but not for myself, at least until they stop overcooking their chicken. read more

I was in town last month on business with my colleague over at United Rentals. We came here for lunch and it was truly fantastic!! The grinders and salads were extremely fresh and authentic tasting. Sincerely one of the best Italian combos I've had this side of Sicily. I actually enjoyed standing in line and interacting with the other patrons because I am a friendly guy! If you don't like standing in a line you should consider patronizing a lower quality establishment (Arby's maybe?) which likely will not be half as busy as this modern day classic. I will always return to Nardelli's when I am in town and am craving the best. read more

Nardelli's is one of my favorite lunch spots in the area. I regularly visited the one in Middletown when I went to school in the area, and I was thrilled when they finally opened this one in Milford since I live nearby. I go once every few weeks since I now go to school out of state, but I've yet to have a bad experience in the many times I've gone. Their deli sandwiches are great, and the staff are always upbeat and extremely personable. I would personally recommend the Turkey Club-- great mix of meats and cheeses that you can only get at Nardelli's. Would definitely recommend stopping in at least once for any sandwich fans out there. read more

Not what I expected. I expected a semi authentic Italian deli... I got a basic turkey grinder. Expected that the meat be fresh cut which it was not. I did not like that they don't assemble it in front of you especially because they were a bit chincy with the toppings which I found out after opening it when I got home. And to top it off not all toppings are free I literally laughed a bit when he told me that banana peppers were and extra charge. Was it good. Yea sure. But nothing to write home about would I go back sure but only if I wanted a grinder and had no time and had to choose between this or subway. Been here twice. Wasn't happy first time gave them a second try. Well it wasn't great. The bread is good but the meat is of low quality. The way they handle a crowd and the line is a joke and when you walk in there is no designated pick up area for people like me who call in your order so when you step to the front of the line to pick up something you called in a half hour ahead of time everybody is staring at you which isn't fun. In addition there is no place to determine which is the beginning or end of line. In closing i can say that slowness and improper planning on the very basics of customer service will kill you everytime no matter how good your food is and i haven't even taken a bite yet. read more

First time visiting, I went with my usual sandwich order - turkey breast, mayo, lettuce and salt and pepper. Sandwich is giant, ingredients were fresh and the toppings weren't overdone. While the bread was good, it wasn't overly amazing, but better than Quiznos or Subway. The line was kind of a mess, and to be honest all of the food on display, mostly for hot sandwiches looked unappetizing and honestly dried out. I don't know how adventurous I'd be with those. But my cold sandwich was solid and better than other chain sandwich shops, so my rating is based solely on that :) read more

The only reason Nardelli's is getting one star is because it was clean inside and it looks nice. The bread did not taste fresh and was close to being stale. They do not have a grill and their only way to heat food is in a microwave. Heating steak for a steak and cheese sub in a microwave is unacceptable. Sadly disappointed. I had heard great things about Nardelli's so I was excited to finally give it a try. I ordered the BBQ bacon chicken cheddar sandwich- unfortunately the chicken was super rubbery and the only toppings I could find were the BBQ sauce and a few tiny bacon pieces. My friend ordered a Reuben and his experience was much the same- the meat was tough, and in addition, the corned beef was poorly distributed so a lot of the sandwich ended up being just bread. On the plus side, the staff was very friendly and the restaurant itself is very aesthetically pleasing and clean. I would give this place a second try- but would opt for a cold sandwich instead. read more

This Nardellis is within a mile from the house. We have made it routine to stop in on Saturday's for lunch! The service was impeccable, a pleasant staff for sure. I've had various subs and have come to notice I keep trying different choices. The buffalo chicken and steak are both excellent choices. I've tried a variety of treats and all are great! First time ever visiting a Nardelli's chain...I was NOT impressed. When I walked in the display case LOOKED wonderful and fresh. All sorts of hot & cold meats, salads, sides, and entrees to choose from. The staff was very friendly, the line moved fast & they even gave me a free sample before ordering. They had Pepsi which always makes me smile. The prices were outrageous (I thought). I ordered the Turkey BLT on a half grinder. I was disappointed that the bread wasn't FABULOUS! (cuz I'm all about the bread baby!) And the toppings weren't as much as I'd like. The turkey was very smokey-flavored, which I do NOT like at all. They did have KILLER Buck Eye candies that were fresh and delish...but expensive! But indulged myself...good thing I did because that sandwich, was so awful I barley ate half...so the chocolate pb candies had to fill me up. Lucky me! Yay! read more

I have to preface this by saying that Im a believer, a big believer in complimenting..over complimenting if there is such a thing, over complaining. I got a chicken cutlet sub w roasted peppers n provolone. Classic Italian sandwich. We've all had it sometime somewhere. The breading on the cutlets; void of seasoning and complete mush. Think 7th grade home ec cooking class. The bread dwarfed these cutlets. Cheese not melted etc etc. Tortellini salad; properly cooked. Seasoning nowhere to be found. Ive worked in restaurants both front and back of the house for years, enjoy cooking and have a grasp of what food should be. This isnt it. A $20 and change, (pricey), lesson learned. The hardest part is going to be driving daily on I95 and seeing the billboard stating CTs #1 sub, further lowering my faith in humanity. Sigh. This is my first time to a Nardelli's, since I'm from California. I ordered a stuffed eggplant grinder with marinara sauce and cheese. I have never seen this offered in any sub ship I've been in before. It was delicious. Could have used a bit more sauce but it's well worth the money. ($8.95 if your wondering). I'm a big eater and I have to say I almost couldn't finish it all. I had a side of Mac and cheese which was kind of disappointing. Basically knock of boxed kraft Mac & cheese. Everything else looked great. It's not far from the Pilot truck stop which is good for me since I drive cross country. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying their famous Italian combo sub. If your used to Subways like me Nardelli's full sized sub are probably just a little shorter than a Subways foot long. It's hard to be sure with out one next to it. But it's almost twice as wide and they put much more in it. read more

Yea, No. Ordered a full buffalo chicken hero with "everything" to split with a friend. Guys were nice but food is seriously lacking. The bread was soggy, the buffalo sauce tasted like full on chemicals, too much mayo/ranch and after it felt like I had a rock in my stomach. I was psyched when this location opened and they make a really good Italian combo. The one big ding I'll give them is that their grinder rolls are sometimes on the stale side and are always flavorless. The contents of the sandwiches are so good. Why kill them with subpar bread? Also, why have I been charged a different amount every time I grab a chef's salad? They all should be the same price! Otherwise, this is one of the better places in the area to get a sandwich. Not what I expected. I was hoping for freshly made subs to order, instead everything seems pre-made and then reheated, i'm assuming in a microwave. I don't know how reheated subs win awards but I wasn't impressed. I'm sure the italian combo is good but most places make italian combos just fine. I love stopping here to grab a sandwich. I have been here about 4 or 5 times and I have yet to be disappointed by the food. They have a large selection of food with cold sandwiches, hot sandwiches, an assortment of deli salads, regular salads, and dessert. It's easy to get to, right off of 95, and adds a better choice to the restaurants available in that area. Be careful when you order a sub with "everything" because it includes some different things than you would expect (mayo, hot sauce, olives, their vegetable mix) but is really good if you give it a shot. The only reason I am not giving them a 5 is their staff. For example, on my most recent visit when I went to ask him if I could order another sandwich, the guy helping me just rolled his eyes and walked into the back. Luckily there were two younger staff members there ready to accommodate me with a smile. I will definitely be back but will give them a little time to work out their customer service/staffing issues.
