I'm not sure why it took me so long to try this place! My teen goes there whenever they walk to the green to get the fries. He says they taste like the old Dockside fries that we miss so much. I ordered the Wilburito, which is pulled pork with avocado and cheese. Wow! The best wrap I've ever had! We both got fries, but I couldn't eat them, because I was too full from that delicious wrap I couldn't put down. He got the Cajun dry rub wings. Neither one of us liked those. What is there NOT to love? Although I haven't visited the other location, I was super excited to hear that Tasty Yolk would be opening in our town of Stratfod. Our family has tried nearly every breakfast offering on the menu - personal faves are Toma and The Fatone - and we just keep coming back. The staff is warm and welcoming, the food is amazing and freshly made to order. And they're so much more than eggs and breakfast! Our kids love the pancakes, and we have developed a slight addiction the chicken wings too. All in all, great spot. What a fabulous find! We've started to try new brunch places in the area and my hubby came across The Tasty Yolk. We loved everything from the moment we stepped foot inside the door: the staff (beyond awesome), the atmosphere (super clean and minimalistic -- and the color scheme is fab!). This place is clearly a local favorite as people didn't stop coming in the entire time we were there! We chose to eat-in but it definitely caters more to those looking for take-out. We ordered and ate at the counter -- food was served quickly and it was ahhhhhmazing!! I think "holy s**t!" was the term my husband used after his first bite :) Ingredients were super fresh and the food piping hot. Staff are happy to make substitutes if you don't 100% like a menu item, which was great as I have an egg allergy. Prices were competitive and the production line was fun to watch -- they don't miss a beat! I had not been to the Stratford location as I live close to and frequent the Black Rock location. Same owners and menu, but inside just a tad different and was glad to visit. Definitely more parking here and more seating and cheery, casual vibe. Clean throughout and friendly staff. I will stop here again when in the neighborhood and would definitely recommend. Tasty Yolk in Stratford! Been at a couple of other locations, and Tasty Yolk doesn't disappoint. They have many options to choose from, which I should, but I always get the Banker. It's just so good. Plenty of parking in the back and some in the front. Location has limited space at the counter to dine in. Most folks do take out though. read more

We used to love this place. On 8/24/25 at around 10:30am, we ordered The Banker and a BLT. Each sandwich was literally half the fillings. The brisket slice was the size of a playing card. Bread was plentiful, more then anything on the sandwich. The BLT was loaded every time we got it. Hardly any bacon at all. The prices were not cut in half, however. Is this how a growing and successful business does things? Watch us 2 customers do business elsewhere then. So disappointing. read more

Good food. They have a breakfast egg sandwich called the banker ...it has a nice piece of brisket in it...I KNOW, RIGHT!? It's very good! I have been going to their stores and food trucks for years. I tried the Tasty, a chorizo egg and cheese sandwich. Just enough spice. For my second visit I did the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. The $10 chicken sandwich or other lunch / dinner options may be LESS expensive than other places (there are $14 sandwiches just down the road). The Nashville Hot really wasn't that spicy, at least not for a hothead. It was cooked to perfection and very tasty, though the chicken breast was actually TOO thick to both through two layers of it. We used to travel to the Fairfield food truck, and are glad to have the Stratford storefront as our new location to pick up this amazing food! The ingredients always taste fresh for any meal I've gotten here, and I've gotten Tasty Yolk many times since November '21 when the storefront opened here. I love the Fatone, the pico is always fresh and flavorful, the bacon bits are perfectly crispy, the egg has been cooked perfectly where it is just a bit soft in the yolk, and the wrap is soft and salted so nicely. Ok so food is good just stay away from the fries because they're really greasy and burnt. The price is decent wish it was a little cheaper. In addition, people that work there are friendly and nice. Just one problem they always focus on online orders instead of in-store orders the wait time can be 30 minutes sometimes for just a sandwhich or sometimes shorter if you're lucky. Yesterday we had to drop one of our cars off in Stratford to have the windshield replaced. I knew about The Tasty Yolk from one of my friends who is always raving about it. So I said to my partner do you want to try somewhere different for breakfast and he said yes. They are located on Paradise Green in Stratford. It's a small space, but also has a counter with about 6 stools if you want to dine in. I ordered The Banker. It was an egg sandwich, consisting of brisket with two eggs, spicy aïoli, and Swiss cheese. My partner had The Tasty. That was chorizo sausage, two eggs, and cheddar cheese. Both sandwiches were absolutely amazing! They were huge and very filling. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and not overdone. The staff is very friendly. Outstanding storefront in Stratford (also in Bpt and food trucks) for take out sandwiches, soups, and other items of the moment. When I went in, I saw they also have a couple of desserts and a flatbread. I usually get The Pig which is a standard BEC but it has two eggs which is a nice perk and it's on a brioche bun. It's too big for me to eat in one seating so I usually save half for later. Today I got The Banker which is Brisket (cooked in house), egg, and Swiss and a spicy aioli (i left the spicy sauce off). Holy hell it was good!!! I don't think I'll ever go back to bacon egg and cheese. My son had The Pig and loved it! His first go. By far the best place to get a breakfast sandwich in the area (this is for the Stratford location, haven't been to the one in Fairfield yet). My favorite is the Pig which is your classic bacon, egg, and cheese on a brioche bun, but they have a good variety of other sandwiches too.
