Anyway, I stopped in here just to see what this attraction was all about. Entry is $6 for adults and you get to watch a 30 minute film about the history of Lafitte and take a walk through the museum. There's also a nature trail behind the museum that you can check out. The film was great and actually very up to date and educational. I enjoyed it. If you watch the film, you have to wait until the end for the appearance of a special guest. It's worth the $6 admission- trust me. The museum itself is pretty neat and teaches a bit about the lifestyle and people of Barataria. The nature trail is wonderful and, if I hadn't been here on an unseasonably warm October day, I would have walked the full trail, rather than just a portion of it. Still, I enjoyed it and it was a relaxing stroll.

All shapes all sizes, put there to share their love with the world. Located on Waldenburg River Park walkway, this fun landmark makes for a nice pic along our mighty Mississippi. My favorite is a heart shaped lock embodied with a skull, perhaps Jean Lafitte put it there? or a relative perhaps?

I saw a larger presence of Officers. The Officers were kind, friendly, kept their eyes on everything; but let people be .... I was walking by and saw a sign that they had NOLA Police Shirts for Sale inside. We went in to find a rack of shirts with the examples/designs and sizes. They had vending machines with shirts, pins, badges, all reasonably priced. In addition, the profits go to help police officers/memorials. I am always willing to Back the Blue! Money well spent! Literally walking on royal and when I get to in front of the precinct I tripped and fell and…read moresprained my ankle. My 11 year old daughter screamed cause she didn't know why I fell . There was an officer right on the steps and when I fell he hid and didn't ask if anyone was ok. When I finally got my self together I started to limp and I saw him hiding. Once I walked further he came out and stood right back on the steps. Terrible for a police office to do especially when you hear a child scream Mom!!
