I attended the CPR a meeting here. It's a great venue for a large group format. Could easily accommodate 150 to 200 people for a meeting

New Orleans is a city of intrigue for me. Food that reminds me of the Blue Bayou in Disneyland,…read moreAnaheim. Jambalaya, Gumbo, po boys, alligator, beignets at more places than Cafe Du Monde and the French Market. I love to see the colorful painted houses, two storied homes with stairs and columns. Graveyards so eloquent with tall immortal houses some even taller with sweet faced angels with wings on top. We visited midweek so not much going on. Many shops closed at 5 pm yet in other parts of the city some were open even at 9 pm. The looming tales of vampires and voodoo, ghosts have the element of mystery and wonder. You can quell your curiosity by joining a tour.

I like NOLA! Especially the Algiers Point neighborhood in which my Sorority Sister and her husband…read morelive! It's quaint and has a sincere sense of community, with neighbors helping neighbors and just being generally overly friendly and thoughtful! The food, the characters, the architecture, the debauchery, the history, walk ability, the street performers, the casinos, the party atmosphere, and unique offerings like swamp tours and of course, Mardi Gras, all make New Orleans unique! We have enjoyed swamp tours, concerts (Billy Idol), staying in Sorority Sister's condo, casinos, delicious local restaurants, fabulous oysters, and both Cajun and Creole meals in New Orleans. I enjoyed taking a cooking class in New Orleans on one visit - although it was more of a cooking demonstration, it was still really fun! The dueling pianos are fun to watch and listen to, you have to get a hurricane at Pat O'Brien's; a beignet and coffee at Cafe Du Monde; a classic muffuletta at Central Grocery; and an absinthe at Old Absinthe House! The traditional New Orleans jazz sounds of Preservation Hall, particularly the Preservation Hall Jazz Band is a great experience! The Ferry ride across the Mississippi is an inexpensive and lovely ride, giving one an entirely new perspective on New Orleans. Even riding on a pedicab is fun! Yelper friend May A.'s review is spot on. Do not rent a car in NOLA. You can walk nearly everywhere and the tours will pick you up. You can easily rent bikes, hop on a bus, or use a pedicab or actual taxi. I think must see areas of New Orleans are Bourbon Street and the French Quarter. Given the opportunity to visit "The Big Easy" aka "The Crescent City," absolutely do!

Why would a government office get 5 stars you ask. Well for starters, little to no lines! no…read morelines at any government office is right up there with hand of God miracle stuff. Let's be honest....hardly any if you pick the right times to go..... Located in downtown Houma in what is know as Thatcher Place, The TWIC office is an unassuming entrance just at the front of the building, You will have to park on the street and watch your meters, Terrebonne will ticket you (however, parking tickets are only 5$ and easily paid right down the street, pick your battles). The most common reason for visiting this location is applying and receiving your TWIC(Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card, a very important document if you find yourself working offshore, in high security jobs, security in general positions or somewhere that will require you to uphold the safety of this nation. You also can apply for your TSA pre-check number here.. Both documents are easy to acquire....bring the correct identification documents, pay the required fee (they do accept, cc/debit cards, i paid for my oldest sons pre-check with my card and they were fine with it) fill out a questionnaire and sit for a small interview. You will receive a receipt and can choose to return to the office and pick up your documents or have them mailed to an address of your choice. We WENT early on a Tuesday morning and they were only a handful for people there, if that....... Make sure your bring the right documents! You can find a complete list at www.TSA.gov you can also see a slew of frequently asked questions, that can assist you. I've been here several times, with the Pirate, Number 1 and assorted scalawags, this location is a hidden gem.......avast! and take my advise.....you'll be happy you did!

Now at the TSA twic card office you can apply to get Pre Approved for easier access during flying…read more Service is mediocre, sometimes come of rude, but if you need to get it done here, they can do it for you.
