DO NOT recommend this dentist what so ever. They did illegal procedures that insurance did not cover, on my mother without her consent, and demanded money after. No consent forms were signed, no paperwork, no permission. She was told everything was fine, and everything will be covered for, then they demanded money afterwards. I tried talking to the women up front about what the charges were, they were rude, unprofessional, they shoved a piece of paper in my face with the amount they wanted us to pay, and cutt me and my mother off Everytime we tried to speak or ask a question. I had never met these women before they seemed new to that specific dentistry. There were two more women in the back whispering and asking "what did she say? Did she do it?" Are you serious??? It's unbelievable that this is going on. Several times have they done procedures incorrectly and left my mom leaving in severe pain for MONTHS! These women take advantage of foreign family's, my mom doesn't speak perfect English and they talked down to her as if she was a child. Someone needs to do something about this situation. And get those women fired. read more

First off, Dr. Fleming is an AMAZING dentist! She's very kind, patient and puts her patients at ease. The dental techs are very professional and make you feel comfortable. On the flip side, the receptionist needs to be better taught on how to treat patients on the phone as well as when they are standing right there in front of her. She needs to be taught that if she doesn't know the answer to a question, it's not a good thing to lie to the same patient 3 times in the same day. read more

The way they treat people on the phone is very disrespectful, they talk to you in such a belittling manner. I went to my appointment 10 minutes early and waited in the parking lot when my appointment time came there was nobody in the parking lot and no one to open the door. we called no one answered. 30 minutes later no one showed to fill my cavities and no one called back to explain why they gave me an appointment on a day they are close. And the 1st time I went to get my cavities filled the doctor was very dismissive about the extreme pain in my face and head and said it was just "pressure" . He also proc to joke to his colleague about my chapped lips and put vaseline on my lips without my consent which was very uncomfortable. Whenever I had a "cleaning" they didn't even brush,floss, or even rinse my teeth but just took a lot of x-rays. they also assumed that I was Hispanic when I don't even speak Spanish. Circa 2010 I was uninsured and being as this dentist is right at the end of the street in which I used to reside I saw the sign stating '$60 exam and cleaning' daily. Since it was convenient I called and gave them a whirl - ugh worst dentist experience of my life. The office is old. Really old. I'm not snotty, but the run down appearance gave me the creeps, like I was about to have dental work done in a clinic in a small poor town in Eastern Europe. My waiting room time was slim, but once I got back to the exam room and the dentist began my cleaning she kept leaving repeatedly to assist with a surgery next door. Um, really? You let someone go under the knife when the person in charge wasn't able to handle it? Don't over schedule yourself. GREEDY. So anyway, the cleaning took forever (I was at this dentist for over 2 hours, for a basic service) but I guess it was fine? The really sketchy part was when they whisked me into a partially cordoned off room (privacy I guess?) to inform me I needed 2 cavities filled for over $800. Luckily I was raised with a strong consumer nose and called up the dentist in Green Hills I used when I was insured. 'Um, hey guys...how much is it out of pocket to get a cavity filled?' ::nice receptionist with a crazy thick southern accent:: 'Well honey, it all depends, but anywhere from $100 to about $250'. Um, yeah. I booked with MY dentist for 2 cavity fillings and when I arrived was (not-so) surprised to find out I did not have two cavities and the only 'problem' I had was a really old filling starting to go bad. My dentist even told me it wasn't that bad if I needed to walk away and get it fixed when I had insurance, but I told him to fill 'er back up for a little over $100. Yet another lesson in life for Kim and her stupid coupon deals! Stay away, stay away! I'll start with a positive. The staff here is very kind and professional. The girl who has been at the front desk whenever we have come in though is always on her phone and doesn't pay much attention. In fact, my first visit was last week and I am pregnant and I clearly stated it on my paperwork but she neglected to inform anyone of this. Luckily, just to be safe, I told the dental assistant before she started working on my teeth. The reason I am giving this place a 1star is because it looks terrible on the outside and on the inside. The building is sketchy and deteriorating and I felt very uncomfortable not knowing what I was about to walk into! Unfortunately it gets no better in the rooms where the work is done. AGAIN, The staff is wonderful! I just can not get over the condition of this place. When I took my husband here today he was turned off by it all too. And very frustrated by the children running around playing soccer in the waiting room that no one ever said anything to. It's a very small space and there definitely was not room for that to happen so they kept jumping over our feet or kicking the ball from under our chair. Just not a professional setting and we will be looking for another dentist even though this one is much closer to our house. read more

Had two root canals done with almost no pain, Dr. Huey Newberry did a great job. The staff is very nice and gentle on the teeth.

I have always had a fear of dentist, and I know that I'm not the only one who feels this way. After my check up I was informed that I was in need of a root canal. I was filled with so much anxiety that I felt nauseous. Thankfully everyone here was so nice and calming. They were very patient and gentle when it came to my root canal. Always checking if I was in any pain or discomfort. This is a great Dentist office that I will be visiting for all of my check ups as long as I live in the area! read more

I want give this place a complete 5 Star rating. The Nashville Dental Center has kind, and caring staff that take time to ask questions and get to know each patient. I once had a bad phobia that kept me out of the dental chair(regretably so), but now I found Nashville Dental Center, I look forward to sitting in Dr. Patricia Newberry's Chair each and every visit. It's a pleasure to visit their office and they will be changing location soon too, and I am looking forward to seeing the new state of the art facility. read more

I had my very first appointment today. Once i saw the building i was a little skeptical but what mattered to me was that my insurance recommended this place and specifically Dr.Newberry. I was very positively surprised by the staff and the overall experience. Great customer service. Everybody was very polite and respectful. They let me take my time making a decision about the work i need to have done and also answering all my questions (there were a lot of questions lol). Today i had only cleaning done but i will be coming back a few more times for some additional work. I met Dr. Newberry briefly and she was very nice. So far i am very pleased with my experience and definitely recommend this place. PS. I don't understand why a person would give a one star because they didn't like the building?! What's important is the quality of the work! FYI they are moving to a new building soon! read more

A terrible experience. I waited an hour, past my appointment. I showed up 15 minutes early. I am new to Nashville area, I received a mailer for this dentist, Dr. Huey Newberry, advertising free exam and X Ray, and teeth whitening tray. When making the appointment I asked, if they would put me down, for teeth cleaning, and I told them my insurance and group number, I asked if they would schedule me enough enough time to get the trays. Before being called back, I asked for a tooth brush to go brush my teeth, they had to look for one, and then asked me if I had my own toothpaste. When I sat down, I told the hygenist I didn't want X-rays, I would like my teeth cleaned, and the dentist to examine them after she was finished. She said she would need to ask her office manager, I said, Ok, I would be happy to talk to her. When she came in, I introduced myself to her, I said, I prefer to have my teeth cleaned, and the doctor to look at them, X-rays only if necessary. She said, well I am sorry, X-rays are used for diagnosis here at this practice. I said I have been in the clinical environment for 25 years, a diagnosis is used when someone presents a problem, or there is a need. She then, said maybe this practice wasn't for me. I said now I believe you are correct, I am in to presenting my insurance and myself as a patient where there is true service. I am sorry she needs to manage her front desk to get people schedule efficiently not tell me I need X Rays first before they have even done my cleaning. I will not recommend this office, it owes me money for my time, and the way I was treated. I would not even recommend This office manager at Nashville Dental Center and for the Newberry's to be in this position of dealing with the public, she obviously doesn't have the skill. BTW stock your bathroom with some toothpaste and tooth brushes you are a service provider for those paying. read more

Very kind dentists and staff. They make you feel so comfortable and at home. They were very helpful in replacing a crown and rushing the labs. Always very kind and accomodating. However, I'm not a fan of the TVs in every room. read more

I have been going to NDC for four years. I chose them because they were close to my work and I could schedule service before my office hours. Dr. Huey and Patricia Newberry are very professional and skilled. I have had my share of longer than usual wait times, but I'm still quite satisfied with the service and care that I receive. Yes, the office is not new and shiny, but it is clean and well maintained. This is a neighborhood dental clinic. The clientele is ethnically mixed and that is fine with me. read more

Either Dr. Pat or Dr. Huey are so competent in what they do, I always feel at ease. I am leaving a comment to express my disappointment with the service I recieved from this office today. While the docotrs and nurses were friendly and supportive, the office staff was rude, un-concerned, and un-knowledgeable. I mentioned when I set my appointment, and even called ahead to make sure that I would be able to use my HRA spending account without the physical card. So when I arrived at the office my HRA was the first thing I asked about and the girl behind the counter says "O yeah, let me call and ask". She returns to me still unsure so I offer to call the HRA company. While I'm on the phone the office aid comes to tell me the situation is taking longer than expected and that I have to reschedule. I simply responded with a look that sent her back to her desk. I ended up having to pay out of pocket which I was not happy about but my insurance company and the office aids assured me I'd be able to submit for reimbursement. After seeing the dentist I returned to the office to get the reimbursement information needed. A different office aid was sitting at the desk and she didn't even look up to ask me what I needed. I asked her for the information and without a word she put a sheet of paper in front of me. I began to ask questions about the sheet of paper and how to submit for reimbursement from my insurance company but she immediately became irritated with my questions so I decided to leave. The quality of the doctors, distance from work, and cost are all reasons I would consider coming back; however, the lack of ownership and attitude from the office staff is why I will not come back. I would have liked for anyone to have apologized and taken any responsibility for the situation I tried to avoid. Then proactive assistance and information regarding what actions to take next now that we have found ourselves in an unfamiliar situation. read more

My experience has been a wonderful one! From my first call into the office when I spoke with Maribel she made me feel very welcomed to come in and have a consultation. She made me an appointment, answered all my questions and was very professional. Once I actually came into the office I was greeted with a friendly smile by the receptionist and given a packet of information and again was made to feel welcomed. After being called back Sarah assisted me getting my x-rays and going over some of the different options available to me. She was very professional, friendly and informative. Then I met Dr. Patricia and she was AWESOME! She examined my x-rays and went over a dental plan that we then executed. Dr, Patricia and her staff were very professional and treated me very well. I had two (2) cavities filled, and she then made an impression of my bottom teeth for a at-home whitening kit. I also met Ms. Arlene in financing and she too was very professional, informative and answered all my questions. Again, she made me feel very comfortable and part of the dental group family. Overall, I would have to say that my experience was truly spectacular and this is my new dental family.
