Had a great time at Nashville Superspeedway watching the Indy race. Loved all the venues and concessions. Lot's of giveaways, live music, and loud thundering engines. I attended the Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix at Nashville Superspeedway, and unfortunately it was one of the most poorly organized events I've ever attended. I left feeling like I wasted both my time and my money. The transportation system was confusing from the moment we arrived. The maps online and even many event employees didn't understand that there were two completely separate tram routes. One tram ran between the front gate and the garage area, while another ran from the front gate to the rideshare area. I was repeatedly told there was one continuous loop and that every tram eventually went to rideshare. That was completely false. We only learned the truth after finding a small information booth inside the gate. Basic transportation information should never be that difficult to obtain. I also paid extra for garage access, expecting a behind-the-scenes experience. What wasn't disclosed anywhere online was that there is essentially no shade for spectators. The teams worked comfortably inside covered garages while paying guests stood in direct Tennessee summer sun. There was very little visibility into the garages, very few worthwhile photo opportunities, and almost no reason to pay the additional fee. It was a complete waste of money. Another surprise was that energy drinks weren't sold anywhere inside the gates. 5 Hr Energy and Liquid Death both sponsor race teams. A minor annoyance compared to the overall experience. The premium seating experience wasn't much better. Access relied on three manual elevators, with only two operating for the public. A staff member had to radio each elevator to coordinate trips. It took us approximately 30 minutes just to get from the elevator line to our seats. That is simply unacceptable for a premium ticket experience. Weather delays were handled poorly as well. Event officials repeatedly announced that "the weather wasn't cooperating," but failed to clearly explain that they were closing the gates and forcing spectators to wait outside during multiple lightning delays. Guests stood outside the entrance for well over an hour--more than once--without meaningful communication. It also felt as though officials delayed making difficult decisions because the race was being televised on FOX. The race start was already delayed while the FIFA Club World Cup broadcast ran long, and by the time the television schedule cleared, additional storms had moved into the area. Hours later the race was finally called. When lightning threatened again, the trams to the rideshare area stopped operating entirely. Hundreds of guests were left waiting in a small shelter with no clear information. The only alternative was walking roughly a mile uphill to the rideshare lot. The Gray Line shuttle service was equally frustrating. Buses weren't scheduled to depart until one hour after the race was officially called. Since officials waited several hours before canceling, many guests didn't get back to their hotels until late in the evening after spending hours simply waiting. To make matters worse, because the race was officially postponed rather than canceled, there were no refunds for fans who couldn't stay an extra day to attend the rescheduled event. I understand that weather is beyond anyone's control. What is within an organizer's control is communication, transportation, crowd management, logistics, and setting realistic expectations. Unfortunately, this event failed in nearly every one of those areas. I have attended many professional sporting events over the years, and this was easily among the most disorganized. Between the confusing transportation, poor communication, inadequate facilities, premium experiences that didn't deliver, and the complete lack of contingency planning, I cannot recommend attending the Nashville Superspeedway INDYCAR event. There are far better motorsports experiences where spectators are treated with far more professionalism and respect. read more

We were her for the c10 Nationals. What a beautiful location! Tons of parking, huge bathrooms, and while we stayed on the field, it looks like there are no bad seats. Can't wait to come back for another event. read more

This venue was okay . Parking is a shit show . Please for the love of God , wash up before you come to nascar . Somebody was stinking in our section . Wear deodorant. Avoid curry , onions and , garlic 24 hours before especially if it's hot and raining you are packed in like a sardine . The seat space is about the size of an airplane seat .we already got the smells from the track , gas , burnt tires , greasy food . We don't need to smell you too . Secondly , sit your ass down . The drivers can't see you .stop flipping them off . They don't care what you gotta say . And lastly , keep your flags and bad ass kids at home . You don't need to be waiving a flag in that small of a space . Keep your kids and husband from running up and down the aisles . Keep their toys and shit cleaned out the walkways . Be respectful of others and the money they spent to come to these events . Oh, and standing on bleachers in the front row . No . You didn't get spanked as a kid and it shows . Other than those issues , it was good racing ! read more

Had a fun time at Nashville Superspeedway for the Grand Prix! My husband is into racing and wanted to check it out since we were in town visiting family. The place is huge with ample parking. I can only imagine how packed it gets for NASCAR when they're racing. Parking was free too, so that a huge plus. I feel like living back in CA they would have definitely charged. Plenty of vendors selling various food and drinks. My sister and I got the frozen strawberry lemonade and it was delicious! A little on the sweet side but that's how I like it. I got the pulled pork Mac and cheese and my husband got the loaded fries. The kettle corn was delicious as well. Nice and fresh! Can't wait to be back for more events! read more

Big Machine Grand Prix was awesome! Second time here and it's always a great time!! Easy parking and plenty of access. Getting in is a breeze and the concessions are actually very good and reasonable. read more

Enjoyed the race and cooling stations on a hot day. The staff was excellent during the rain delay making sure everyone was safe and found a space. Leaving the parking lot was worse than expected even at a large event. More traffic direction and control needed. read more

What do you do with a multi-million dollar speedway facility that was rejected by NASCAR, turned into a tax-free port for idle automobile shipments, then slated for demolition and redevelopment? You get your politics right and have NASCAR hold a new 400-mile race. Based on the inaugural Ally 400's sell-out crowd of 40,000 NASCAR fans...that seems to have been the right idea. Let's hope that event has seeded a new, more prosperous future for NSS. The other thing that happens over a decade of idle facilities is that people seem to lose experience planning or operating concessions, traffic, or parking. Enter pandemic nonsense which didn't help either, but will receive far too much credit for the fails. The race was dandy, but concessions ran low around lap 200 (great for vendors to have sold what they had and sad for fans who are unable to bring drinks or snacks into the facility.) Leaving a large public event is usually stressful. But it can be improved with solid planning. Traffic personnel seemed to have left the premises before the fans. Pre-race live help directed drivers into the grassy parking prairies. No guiding signage, human assistance, flying monkeys, ruby slippers, or even a warm brewski was visible in the massive gridlock left to soothe frustrated drivers attempting to find the road home. Oh...wait...there's at least a person on one of the main arteries that no one can reach. (He needs some help.) Serious consideration is also needed for ridesharing options (there were none a decade ago and there were none today...no in & out for rideshare drivers and no drop points as alternatives.) Looking forward to more events with fingers crossed that the issues may be resolved with rapid prototyping and learning skills. Nah, that's a pipe dream. Fingers crossed that facility managers have more than a few V8 moments before the next event. read more

Where do I start. I brought my camper and each day it was a different way to get to my site. St the track No coolers allowed and no alcoholic beverages allowed. When the hell did that happen? Went to concession stand for a burger, hotdogs and fries. All.were dried out and horrible for $22. The fries had about 15 fries in the basket maybe 1/3 full and when I complained I was told that everyone was complaining. I said then do something about it and asked for the manager who wasn't around..I been to 18 different tracks and this is by far the woese. read more

Do not take Uber to the racetrack. Getting here is ok. It's after the race. Must be 500 people waiting for rideshare on the site they send you to. Have been here an hour and not one person has gotten into a car. The problem is that the Uber cars can't get to the people waiting to meet them. The roads to the area are blocked. We could seriously be here for hours more. Everyone just hoping the Uber drivers don't cancel and just give up Very, very poor planning by the speedway read more

Well, I'm hoping that this isn't it, but I just finished what might be the last event to take place at this great (in my opinion) racing facility. In the WERA ranks I would register as a newbie at Nashville, but the place holds some lifetime memories for me. You see this is the track that re-ignited the passion of racing motorcycles in me that had sat dorment for the last 10 years. I had a bad crash 10 years earlier and was given the edict of quit racing or find a new family. Kids were young and the wife didn't like my hobby. Well, come 2010, my son is now 18 and she says..."race if you want to...and take him with you". So I re-upped my license and he got his for the first time. Here we were, father and son racing against each other at a cool track. We'd packed our gear up and camp out for the weekend 3 different times here. Endured torential rains but along with that some beautiful evenings with a campfire sleeping at the track. Life is very good. Always had good luck here. Bikes ran great and the competition was first class. There are few better groups of people than the brothers of WERA. While I will still participate with the group at other venues, I'll miss Nashville if they don't work something out. Here's to keeping my fingers crossed! read more

I didn't actually see a race here. I went to do a ride along in a NASCAR that my girlfriend bought me. It was a great experience! They only do it once a year, so if you like to go fast, I suggest signing up for it next time they are here. read more

I don't think it is any secret that I have become quite the NASCAR fan in recent years. So imagine my excitement when they announced a Nationwide race at Nashville Superspeedway on the cup off-week Easter weekend. I bought two tix in the grandstand and two All Access passes. What could be better than getting all up close and personal with some of the cup drivers as well as my fave up-and-coming driver who races Nationwide? Nothing! Unfortunately I had some mixed feelings about how the day went so I'm here to tell you the good and bad. While out in the middle of nowhere in between Smyrna and Lebanon, it was easy to get to and they had plenty of staff to guide you as far as parking and also getting out after the race. We walked up to find some merchandise haulers which was a bonus since I forgot my scanner and headphones (dumbass!), needed to buy a hat for my driver to sign, and got there early enough to walk around. They even had some vendors giving away samples of their products just like the big cup races (mmm spicy Planters nuts!!). We went in and found our seats to watch some qualifying. The sections were hard to find but at least the people we encountered when asking where to go were super friendly! The announcer guy was not on his A game and his silly, disjointed chatter was getting on our nerves a bit. Talk about the racing and stop with the stories that don't have anything to do with it maybe? After a bit we went down to find out where to go with our pit passes. We find out we wait by a gate beside the grandstand and after qualifying they will put stairs up, open the gate, and you are free to go roam around the pits. Sweet! HOWEVER, this did not go smoothly. The gates were to open at noon and the drivers meeting was to be at 12:15. Qualifying wasn't even close to over at that time. Seems like perhaps an organization problem - move the qualifying back. I mean, how does it really "go long"? Just allot more time. Then we had to stand there forever while they cleaned the track and by the time we were allowed to go down there it was more like 1:30pm and the race was scheduled to start at around 2:30pm. This was a collossal beat down. Appreciated the apology given over the mic but still for the freakin LOVE! So we go down there and I have no idea where the driver's meeting was but I suspect it was already over. However, we found a group of people surrounding my driver as he was being interviewed for TV. Afterwards there was a swarm to have him sign items. The BF has long arms and he's more aggressive than I was being, so he got my hat signed by my guy. I was in charge of snapping pics of his cute lil face. Awesome, very pleased!!! We walked around and looked at the cars too. Then we just kind of lurked by the garage entrance and this was the money since all the drivers walked out to go be announced on the stage. Saw Trevor Bayne again (being an absolute sweetheart to a kid in a wheelchair - seriously, he made so much of him that I was about to get all misty-eyed), all the Cup drivers (Logano, Edwards, Busch, Keselowski), and numerous Nationwide only drivers. All in all I got pics of lots of them and it was cool to see these guys up close. And next time KyBu - sign the kid's item will ya? At this point is when they start herding the people back up the stairs to the grandstands which was fine because I came, saw, and conquered. Off to find some food. Ended up at a booth that had some decent pulled pork. However, what genius designed the grandstand where it isn't sealed off so that if someone spills something on the grandstand floor under their seat it ALL COMES DRIPPING DOWN?! We saw a huge melted chocolate milkshake concoction come down and peg this guy in the arm. Bet that smelled awesome after sitting in the sun all day. So when you walk around you really have to watch for dripping areas because that is someone's freakin drink that is dripping on you. Drink or milkshake or dip cup, whatever. Isn't that lovely? Seats were great for seeing the entire track, scanners made a boring first half of the race a little more exciting, and overall it was a great day. I just think that some tightening up of scheduling or something could help the day go smoother and keep people from getting so antsy and irate. Maybe it was something else that caused it to go off track but it seemed to me it could have just been planned a little better. Anyway, still a great day and I will definitely go back!! read more

The 1.33 mile concrete oval has hosted many NASCAR and Indycar races from 2001 to 2011. But in 2012, Dover Motorsports declined for 2012 NASCAR sanctions for Nashville Superspeedway and in January 2012, it became a testing venue for race teams. At some point in 2011, they were considering to sell the racetrack but that never happened. read more
