He also functioned as my ophthalmologist. Since I have moved, I have been searching for a good retinologist/ophthalmologist in my area. 1st I went to Vitreoretinal Consultants, had 3 visits in 3 1/2 mos, each time the MD was extremely rushed and gave short, terse answers to my questions. I could not understand why they kept wanting to see me every 4-6 wks when they said my eyes were stable, no changes. I self-referred myself to OCLI after a friend recommended them. The waiting room was worse than VRC, though staff was professional. After my eyes were briefly examined by a tech, and after all the routine tests, I saw Dr McKeague. She is just the MD I had been searching for! She asked me questions, was gentle but efficient and thorough with the exam, sat down with me to explain what she saw, answered my questions and gave me suggestions on how to take better care of my eyes--which eye drops to use, and an eye compress that I could get on-line at their store. And, unless something changes, I do not need to see her for a year! And I do not need to see a separate retinologist, unless she sees something that needs to be addressed. I am very grateful to her.

His Costco office opened in August and currently is open Tuesdays and Saturdays for now with plans to increase hours. I believe he is a provider independent of Costco and anyone can make an appointment to see Dr. Franks even if you do not have a Costco membership. As I do not have time during the week Saturday was perfect for me. Making an appointment was a piece of cake (same day! and walk ins welcome!) as Dr. Franks fit me right in. I've gotten my eye exams done in CA, FL, and NY now and my eye exam with Dr. Franks was the best, most thorough exam I've ever had. Although he was very thorough with my eye exam, he was also very efficient, quick and got me out in no time. You can tell he is very passionate and enthusiastic about his work and your eye health. With my Davis Vision VSP, eyeglasses exam was covered and only needed to pay $40 for my contact lens exam too. He recommended me some great new contacts lenses for my eyes and gave me samples to try on. He gave me the prescriptions for my eyeglasses as well as for my contacts. Also got some free travel size contact solutions to go! Dr. Franks is absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend him for eye exams! You won't regret it and will have clear vision! I gave the optometrist my glasses and a prescription saying the glasses were perfect and I wasn't sure if the prescription was correct. He chose to fill the prescription. Needless-to say, it was incorrect. He blamed the writer of the prescription saying he was trying to trick me to have anyone else filling the prescription make the wrong glasses so that I would return to him. He then used my glasses to get a new prescription. The glasses he made caused me to see double. He again blamed the old optometrist. He had me come in to see his optometrist for a brand new prescription. I was kept waiting for over 45 minutes, during which time the client scheduled after me already entered. The doctor checked my eyes but "didn't bring his equipment to test for prisms" - the one problem that the glasses he gave me had. But he promised that for the next exam I would be his first patient. The next week I showed up and lo and behold the doctor was with another patient. He told me he didn't realize he promised me the first appointment and said "I guess I need a REAL appointment book". The glasses that were then made were still wrong and made me see double. He refused to refund my money and I am still waiting for a solution. When I originally ordered the glasses I called after over four weeks because I hadn't heard from them. I was told "The glasses are here but I don't know if they came back from the maker or weren't sent out yet. I'll call you tomorrow to let you know. Four days later I called him because I hadn't heard from them and was told - Oh yes, they're ready. I don't know why you weren't called.

The representative Michelle in particular lacks professionalism and courtesy. She started out defensive and unwilling to help me with a simple fix. The negative reviews are there for a reason. If they had negative stars I would have gave them -5 .Simple fix gone wrong. From making an appointment to getting service I would rate her poor at best. (Update more in-depth) After verbal gymnastics, complaining to corporate speaking with the manager Joanna who was upset that the interaction would be reviewed on social media , I was finally routed to the owner who seemed reserved at first but finally offered options which included paying for new frames at a discount of 65 percent off. I had the frames for 5 months and hoped that the small piece that fell off the frames near the temple could be put back on or solicit the manufacturer for new frames as this was a defective frame ( was not an option ) He did take a look and brought them to another location and as of this post fixed them. This simple fix could have been handled at counter person level but Michelle said that the person who fixes glasses if I left them has lost peoples glasses and despite not having a tech on site like many other eyeglass stores , he only worked on Tuesday and Thursday. I explained that I work during the week and she became increasingly nasty as I tried to find a solution and questioned how many glasses has the repair person lost. She said he takes them from the store and if I left them it would be at my own risk ( What!!) trying to get statistics as to what my outcome would be , I asked her could she leave them in the store for repair . She still continued to dissuade me from doing so. Finally I begged ( yes begged) for her to help me at which point she then agreed to put a note that said fix in store and to my surprise she was also working on the day the repair person would be there ( shut the front door!! ) Why not offer this as the first option. When I called Tuesday to see if they were ready I spoke to Brandy who said they were not ready , upon questioning her about frames being removed off site she said that rarely happens . (Not what Michelle said)- On Thursday I received a call and was explained that the small decorative piece by the temple that fell off the frame and allowed the arm to not jut out could not be fixed and they suggested I glue it on myself ( $500 dollar Marc Jacob frames ) 5 months later!!! , I was passed to the manager who was defensive and irritated - no brainer because--( she mentioned at one point at a previous appointment I had in conversation with her that she had a negative interaction with another customer and she wanted to throw down with her . huh! - first red flag - should have ran out the door then ) She then passed me to the owner Olec , I asked can we send them back to the manufacturer. The owner said they are not actually made by Marc Jacob but by a frame company that has the license for the right to ( huh! , Not original- Wow , okay ) In the end they are currently fixed ( which could have avoided this whole negative encounter ) and I pray that nothing else goes wrong or I'm out of choices because upon picking them up I once again had to deal with Michelle who an attitude handed me my glasses in the same not original case , smudged and dirty and with no one available to make any final adjustments ( not that I had someone to do any adjustments upon picking them up originally at point of purchase) and I told her that her customer service was not good towards me and she said neither was mine.( huh!) I said you're not a nice person to your customer and she said neither am I and called the Police. When the police got there I explained exactly what happened. They stood there shaking their heads as I explained my story and the amount I paid for a frame that was not original Even they could see as I explained the encounter that it was ridiculous and petty. I further explained that Michelle suggested at one point in our conversations that I stepped on them . The officers looked at me and my size and agreed if so the glasses would have been destroyed. My courteous well mannered demeanor was met with the worst feeling about doing business I've ever had. I feel completely humiliated and taken advantage of. Included is a photo of the glasses - please not the very tiny decorative silver piece at the temple, that is what fell off.

My wife went here for an eye exam and to get a new prescription for her contact lenses. She was charged full price for both even though we had insurance. When her lenses were ready to be picked up, she called our insurance carrier to verify our coverage and was told that she should not have been charged anything. The insurance company contacted them directly and spoke with Judy who tried to twist the story to say, they charged her because they thought she would be getting eyeglasses too. My wife never mentioned anything about getting eyeglasses; its obvious they made a mistake and were trying to justify it rather than apologize to the customer. When I went to pick up her lenses, Judy was there and did not apologize or say anything. Horrible customer service from someone who blatantly lies !!! Safe to say, we won't be going back here.
